I'm not rushing your trip, but I cannot wait to read your TR!!!!! :cool1: :thumbsup2

Girl, I need to get excited about our DLR trip. What can I do?????????? I guess b/c this is my first trip to DLR. I grew up on WDW (going at least 2x a year). DH grew up on DLR since he is from Cali! Jen, HEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!

I am going to live through your TR. :goodvibes

DLR is a lot of fun. It's much smaller and more intimate than WDW. I love it. And there are some things that are unique to DLR. I think you should do a DLR ptr.

Are you planning another WDW trip ?

;)

I think I may start one. Only if you promise to stop by! :thumbsup2 :lmao:

Seriously, I may do one soon. I know I wanted to do a TR. I'm waiting on the 2009 rates to come out so I can make ressies for July 09. My DNiece, DNeph, DSis, DBIL and my clan are going. We want to go the week after the 4th of July. We will fly out on that Sun and come back on Sat. I would like to go back sometime in the fall for a weekend getaway so I will have to play that by ear. ;)

I will definitely be there. Just let me know when you start one.

Oh you can do a ptr for next summer. I'm going to do one also. We're still trying to decide when we're going. It's either going to be June, July, or the beginning of August. I can't wait for 2009 rates to finally be released. Do you know which resort yet?

:woohoo: for hitting 19 days!!!:goodvibes

Thanks!!! I cannot believe it's so close!!

Thanks!!! Do you think it's crazy that I started packing? :lmao:

I don't! I always have a toiletry bag packed, because I buy/get free samples of travel size items, and they just go in it. So that's always ready to go. If you know you're not using it, why not get it organized...and feed the addiction!:lmao:

Thanks for validating my insanity :lmao: I am just like you. I'm not going to use the travel size toiletries, so why not pack them now? I started packing some clothes as well. I got a couple of things, Disney t-shirts in particular, just for the trip. So, I tossed them in the suitcase. Besides, I hate last minute packing.

::yes:: I speak from experience--last-minute packing means you will forget something. Far better to do it early!

I didn't last-minute-pack for my Disney trip, as I'd wised up, but I've forgotten other items for other trips. :headache:

So true! Plus I love checking things off my list as they go in the luggage. It makes me feel like I've accomplished something :lmao:

If you're worried you're crazy let me make you feel better....we're not going until 27Jun'09 and I have be putting bits and peices of clothing that I've bought for the girls into our smallest trolly bag:blush: not exactly packing but not exactly not packing KWIM ;)

:rotfl2: That does make me feel better!!!

Oh and we may be there the same time next year. We're still deciding if the end of June will work for us.

Alright, I'll give.

All the clothes I purchased for the trip are segregated to one section of my closet.:rotfl2:

Me, too. I have to have a packing list, and I have to check off everything last thing as it goes in.

Wow! :worship:

There ain't nuttin wrong with packing...I say this because I am about to get my suitcases out today and I have already gotten most of the toiletries out already. ;) :thumbsup2

I do the same thing with my trip clothes :lmao: I am not wearing my Cinderella and Eeyore t-shirts before August 9th.

My lists actually keep me sane. I fear forgetting something and then not being able to get it while I'm there or paying a small fortune for it. After reading Winker's tr update about the price of tampons in WDW, I made certain that I have everything.

Doesn't packing make the trip feel like it's actually close?

I'm with you!! I ALWAYS pack early! I start pulling things out and putting them on the guest room bed! (works unless I actually HAVE guests....) :rotfl:

Do you remember that cute denim skirt on my ptr? Yup...hasn't seen the light of day...my new black tanks are in there, a shirt I wore on my anniversary...eventually I may post some pics on the ptr of my crazy closet segregating technique but I'm not brave enough to share that disaster with everyone yet.

Okay, I haven't read that, but I always keep the feminine products well stocked even if I'm not anticipating anything because you never know! And we do extra of DS' baby wipes (I'll still bring those even though he's potty trained because they're just handy for wiping down dirty tables, little hands, etc), and things like that. I have an acute paranoia of running out of something on vacation.

Boy, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one!:lmao:

I've been busy this morning with Disney trip-related things.

First, I paid Memories by Betsy for the gift basket I orderd for T. This is what's inside the basket:

Pirate T-shirt (youth XS)
Personalized black youth Mickey Ears
blue Character Autograph Book
Pen
Pirate Mickey Plush
Pirate Donald Plush
Pirate Goofy Plush
Pirate Disney Racer
Telescope
Hook
Sword w/eye patch
Epcot Passport
Animal Kingdom Passport
WDW Coloring Book
crayons

Betsy emailed a pic of the basket:

The card on the basket says it's from Mickey. I think T will LOVE it. She's delivering it to the Contemporary on our check-in day. I'll be nice for him to get his autograph book, Epcot anD Animal Kingdom passports on our first day. This way, we don't need to stop to pick those up right away. And he'll need his autograph book for our dinner at Chef Mickey's our first night.

I scheduled a 30 minute Photopass session for T at the Poly. My brother usually takes T to the photographer for semi-annual photos. And he has his school photos. My mom and I thougth it would be nice to surprise Mike with some pics of T.

The CM suggested I prepay the CD. It's $124.95 if I buy it in Disney and $99.95 if I prepay. I'm going to order the CD on the Photopass website. I also noticed that Photopass has lots of great things, like the PhotoBook and PhotoMovie. Has anyone ordered these?

I also worked on a budget of sorts. While I have not worked on a budget for the entire week, I did work on a budget for airport transportation in New York and tipping. I like to have money for tips separate from the rest of my vacation money. I'm planning on putting tips for each designated service in separate envelopes.

Here are the services that I plan on tipping:

Housekeeping, Bell Services, and the Magical Express Driver. I haven't decided on the amount just yet, but I'm working on it!

We decided that we're going to leave from my apartment since I live the closest to LaGuardia. That means a lot of guests the night before and no canasta parties. I called two car services for prices. Since there are 4 of us and approximately 6 pieces of luggage and a stroller, both companies said we'll need a mini van. Carmel (who I use all the time) will charge $52.00 each way. Dial 7 (used them a couple of times) will charge $54.00. Keep in mind that I'm about a 15 minute drive from LaGuardia airport. Since I have an account with Carmel and know they're reliable, I'll use them.

We could just drive to the airport. But my dad thinks he'll come back and find scratches and dents in his car. Or, even worse, he thinks the car will be stolen. Keep in mind he has LoJack on his car and the NYPD can set off the device at any time to find it. Well, I priced long term parking at the airport just to see. It would cost $30 a day for the first two days and $5 for each $8 hour period after. It would cost $150.00 to park our car for 8 days. So ridiculous!

Next, I'm going to look up height requirements for different attractions. I want to steer T in the right direction and avoid disappointment if he's too small to ride.

I also am making a list of snacks to try. We have 2 snack credits a day per person and want to make sure we use them. In January, we ended up with a bunch at the end of the trip. We just bought some snacks for the trip home.

So DISers, what's your favorite, must have it every time, WDW snack?

Oh I can't wait to see a pic of your closet segrating technique. I may end up doing the same thing in preparation for next year's trip.

I agree. You never know what's going to happen.
And I'm the same way. I don't want to run out of something and not be able to run to Target to get more.
