Chit Chat Thread - November ADRs...

So for the folks interested in the TouringPlans FP recommendations, I played around with my MK day and here's what my plan looks like with recommendations. Although, I think it's odd how it gives me the Journey of the Little Mermaid after Peter Pan's flight as opposed to right before our BOG reservation? It seems like it would make more sense for it to be right before dinner given the location. And/or right after 7DMT (it's at the top of the plan but got cut off on the screen grab).

I can't help you there. I need to sit down and look at a map and see what rides we want. Then "study" recommendations and touring plans. So much work like which ADRs to go for.

Are those realistic times from touring plans? Like does it account for the travel time between rides?

(P.s...should we start a different thread since this isn't primarily about ADRs? Or can we chit-chat about our Nov trip?)

I talked to my DH and he wants to go to the Sci fi dinner instead. I'm having a hard time offering up that Minnie H&V dinner reservation. I don't know why. Maybe because I've obsessed about it for weeks and even set my alarm for 3am to book it.

Sci Fi may be tough to get - if your at least an hour earlier or later you should be able to make another ADR still keeping the Minnie dine as an option

FWIW all our trips we've never done a touring plan - get fp for the busier rides and go standby for the others

Maybe think it over a few days? Although, I understand it can be difficult to give up an ADR you may end up wanting. I'm having a difficult time not trying to find an 'Ohana reservation because I feel like we should do dinner there one night, but I don't want to give up any other reservation to make room for 'Ohana (assuming I could get a reservation). But, I keep randomly looking for availability because I can't just let it go that we won't be going there this time. Although, honestly, when my DH and I went last time it was horrible. The service was horrible, it was ridiculously loud, the meat was dry, and they only had peanut sauce and no sweet and sour sauce. But, it was great when we went there the trip before, so I'm thinking we need to try it again to see if we keep it in the "good" or the "bad" pile. I just don't think we can get it in this trip...even though I keep thinking about it :rotfl:

I would think this counts as chit-chat, but maybe it is off topic?! You think? I have no idea about Touring Plans...I've never used them before. I ended up paying for the year because it was like $10 with the discount and I thought I could play around and just see what it provided for plans.

I agree that it's definitely not needed! I've never done a TP either...I finally decided to check it out for $10 to see what kind of advice it provided. It's been fun to put my plans in and see what it says but it's not too different from what I probably would have done anyway. I'll print out the plans when I go this next trip and see if it's pretty accurate!

And now I'm stepping away from the computer again to finish out my Saturday productive (or at least try) LOL!! Happy Saturday everyone!

I can help with this: The food at scifi is dreadful. Except the peanutbutter pie.

And we found that really, ignore the reviews for the most part. I'd avoided CM for years because I heard such awful things. Kiddo insisted we go our last trip and it was one of our best breakfasts. Ever.

Is H&V a signature? Nope. Will you find something to eat. Sure. We are going because my kid is crazy for the characters.

We went to Sci-Fi last time. The food wasn't horrible, but it wasn't the type of food we prefer. My kids are little weirdos and don't like things like mashed potatoes. (What kids don't like mashed potatoes? Mine. Sigh.) We thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and had fun, even though the food wasn't our favorite. We're skipping 50's Prime Time this trip even though DH & I would love it because we know the kids wouldn't really enjoy the food or atmosphere. I think you have to know your audience, so to speak. And always check the menu online before you decide.

We were told our first trip with the kids that CM was a MUST DO because the Mickey waffles...oh, the waffles. My kids enjoyed the waffles, but it's a standard breakfast buffet. We were satisfied with the food. I wouldn't say it's gourmet or absolutely amazing, but it's good. And we loved the experience. Worth the price? I don't know - that's for everyone to decide for themselves. For our first trip with the kids and not having to stand in line to see the Fab Five, it was absolutely worth it for us.

I have a friend who told me H&V is her favorite character meal ever. They even loved the food. We're going this time because my kids love Disney Junior characters. Do I expect the food to be amazing? No. I do expect for everyone to be able to find something to eat and leave with tummies satisfied.

I have to chime in on this one! I LOVE mashed potatoes like could eat them 7 days a week, 365 days a year (especially my mom's but no instant.) The first time we fed my daughter mashed potatoes they came right back out. I couldn't believe it! I kept trying and after a handful of times she likes them now (she's 18 months.) I was afraid I brought the wrong kid home from the hospital for awhile there though ;)

So, on TP I have my first ride on an MK day with AM EMH as Jungle Cruise. TP says my wait time will be 53 minutes, is it crazy or am I in thinking that the wait won't be that long first thing in the morning? I read a suggestion somewhere that said most people in theme parks (and life in general) tend to go right so if you go left you should have less crowds which is why I chose to go to adventureland first (also because we have a late breakfast at CP that day.) Should I rethink my plan? This is our first trip as adults doing all the planning so give me all your best tips :)

IMO jungle cruise has always been a fp we could get anytime through the day - so I personally wouldn't use an early emh on it.

Well, that's kind of what I mean. Who is going to be in line first thing that they are telling me I'm going to have a 53 minute wait? I haven't fully decided if we will ride Jungle Cruise that morning or not because we have two full days, MVMCP, and then probably a few hours on our last day after we finish at AK I just put that in since I thought we would go the opposite of the crowd and head left (if what I read was valid and most people will be heading to the right) and it's made me question how accurate TP is now.

I've never used TP because I'm too cheap to pay for a service when I can get touring info from some other sites. Other sites that have 2-day MK touring plans split it - one day you go right, the other day you go left. We did that last time and didn't have any trouble. I think as long as you RD, especially with EMH, you'll be fine.

sorry didn't mean to insinuate you were going with that plan just agreeing jungle cruise was a poor decision for TP to even select that.

Ack! Decided to switch our Magic Kingdom day, but to do that need to switch 1900 Park Fare and Be Our Guest dinners! At least I'll have ADRs to continue to stalk....not sure what I would do with my free time if I didn't.

Oh no! Good luck and like you said...now a new challenge to keep you in the ADR-hunting game LOL!!

My hunt is still on for Liberty Tree Tavern - there is a two week period where I will have limited computer access and I am terrified they will pop up and disappear then...
