Hello,

Can anyone provide me with more information about the campfire...I am thinking about doing this with my son (5) after dinner at WCC. Is it worth it? How difficult is it to get back to the All Stars from here (we will not have a car) - thanks.

How is the bug situation - we are traveling in June.

I love the campfire! You'd need to time your deparature to the Hoop De Doo exit - as there are buses that go straight to resorts at that time. Otherwise, you'll need to go to DD and then get a bus from there (or to any park that may be open, if any).

If the MK was open late, you could get a boat also there, and the bus back.

The campfire is so much fun!

and I wouldn't worry about transportation back. EVery night, at least one park is open late. And the movie doesn't get over THAT late. Ideally, I would plan on taking the boat to MK and then a bus from there. The boat would be fun for your son as well. The movie program is really cute and FREE! :) How often does THAT happen? LOL

Your 5 year old will love the campfire! Chip and Dale come out first, so make sure you are on time. Do you know how to get to the Fort from the Lodge?

Bug situation--we'll, in June I'd take some spray if I had some, just in case. Usually not too bad but you never know.

Thank you for the responses...I was unable to get an ADR for dinner at WCC (no times left) so I'm thinking about after our welcome dinner at Chef Mickey's. Would we make it on time our ADR is at 5:20 for chef mickey's????

I read somewhere that the campfire starts at 7:30 and then somewhere else that it starts at 8:30-which time is correct? And how would I get to FW from the CR-sorry for all the questions. Any suggestions would be appreciated. BTW, we also have 2 free days (just swimming/shopping) should I try to go on one of those days??

Thanks so much.

Make sure to bring marshmellows. The bugs are not bad, but we did tend to get bit at the campfire and at the pool. Have fun and enjoy.

If you're at CR you can just hop a boat to and from FW, nice and easy :goodvibes .

In June the campfire program will start at 8 p.m. If your Chef Mickey's night is before your off days, then I'd try to make it and if you don't make it then do it on a swimming/shopping day. If you make it you may like it so much that you do it again! It is great fun and a 5 year old will love it!

Hi jerseypixie,

I stayed at POR last week but attended the campfire at Fort Wilderness on one night. The hours for the campfire and movie change with daylight savings time. The change occured just before our trip and the "summer hours" are now in effect, with the campfire being lit at about 7:30pm, sing-along at 8pm and movie starting around 8:30.
