I'm not really sure which forum to put this in so hopefully here is ok. Has anyone been to Chip & Dale's Campfire Sing-A-Long at Ft. Wilderness? I'm just looking for some general information. Is it worth it? What happens (besides the fire lighting at 7:30pm)? Is it just Chip and Dale? How long are they out for? What time is the best to arrive? Etc, etc. I'm trying to decide if it's worth it to go, making it a late night, knowing we have to get up early the next morning.

Thanks! :)

We used to go to this all the time when I was younger. I haven't been in a couple years, but usually there is a cast member who'd come out and do a sing-a-long and Chip and Dale would come out and walk around and meet everyone. The show was maybe 40 minutes? Then after that they'd show the movie for the night. They had two fires, one each side so you can go roast marshmallows and I believe you could buy marshmallows and sticks at the little concession stand in the back.

I'd arrive a bit early as there is two kinds of seating. Towards the front is benches that look like logs that probably could seat a family. Then in the back is bleachers. You can also bring blankets if you wanted to sit on the ground. If you'd want your own seating, I'd go early to get one of those log benches.

We always had fun when we'd go as kids and now as adults. You can always find out what the movie schedule is ahead of time and see if its something you'd want to go see.

Part of the answer may depend on who exactly is going to be doing this. We've never made it in time for the Chip/Dale portion but have enjoyed the movies. More than marshmallows they have Smores kits and the kids have a ball making them. I've seen people roasting hot dogs and more...

But keep in mind that it's a pretty decent hike from the campfire area back to the bus (especially with wee little ones) and then you still may need to get another bus back to your circle. If you use a golf cart, well my point is moot!

Just being realistic if you have "sleepers"...it is very fun and we've dealt w/sleeping children on the way back.

As far as where to post this I have been told in the past to post it under the Camping section, but no worries.
We have gone almost every year with the exception of rain on the day we planned on going. You will have to get there early to see Chip and Dale. We have caught them on their way out and they do not stop for pics when they are on their way out.

There is the sing-a-long with the hokey pokey, the marshmellows, and the movie(s) so if you miss Chip and Dale you'll still have stuff to keep you entertained. You can check the schedule of what is showing in the Camping At Disney World threads. They post them at the beginning of each month.

What time does it start-is it the same time year round or do the times vary with the seasons?

I've been twice before when I was 4 and 6-which was back in the 70's-so it's been a while!:rotfl:

How would you find out the movie schedule?

Never done this. It sounds like fun. Do they do it all year? Even in Nov. and Dec.?

Sounds like this is going to be much later in the summer than we were thinking. We'd planned on doing it with the kids, but I think it might be a very late night if we do it in July.

Can you just go for the sing a long and smores?
