Claire (Me) - Initiator, planner, over excited one
Mike Goes with the flow
The alarm went off and it was straight into the bathroom to get ready and then down to breakfast. I got a full English and it was really nice but I found I couldnt eat it as I was too nervous, which I knew wouldnt go away until we were on the plane, so as Mike had eaten his I gave up and we went to wait for the taxi.
The taxi was late which made Mike nervous but I stayed calm as I booked it early away. It turned up and dropped us at this funny back entrance, after hed driven up this road that said no entry, before we knew it. We entered the airport having no idea where we were but as there was no way to go but up we started up the stairs dragging the cases behind us with Mike stopping at every landing to come back and help me. Luckily it was just 2 floors up and then we found ourselves next to the Virgin desk in Departures. We went to the bag drop then straight over to the very long queue to get through passport control and bag check.
When we finally got through we went in Dixons to buy a few things and I had a go on the massage chair which was lovely! By then it was time to go to the gate where we queued again and by the time we got into the gate we should have taken off. In the end we left about 30 minutes late and had an uneventful flight.
Landed in Orlando and picked up our car, this was DBFs first time driving abroad and in an automatic. We set off for the hotel following the directions Id printed out. We got to the first toll and went through with no problems then hit the second toll and went in the correct change lane. I handed over the money to Mike who looked at it and said Honey this is a 50 cent Euro not Dollar, give me some more money, to which I replied, But we havent got another 50 cents in change! By then we were in the toll booth with people behind us. I waved to the women in the next booth and she let us through without paying so it wasnt a problem and we saved 75 cents!
Got to the hotel then without too much bother, went passed out exit but did a u turn, then passed our hotel so we did another u turn before finally parking the car and checking in. Our room in the Best Western was on the third floor and was fine, nothing special but nothing wrong either. We headed straight out to Downtown Disney a 10 minute walk away and ate in the Rainforest Café and looked in a few shops, then it was straight to bed so that we would be rested for our first day at the parks.
Hope that wasnt too long and boring.
