Chilled Mango Soup

My husband and dad absolutely love the chilled mango soup on the Magic. As i am reading through these boards, i catch bits and pieces of posts saying that this soup isn't on the ship anymore. Please tell me that's not the case We are leaving in two weeks and i would rather give them the bad news now that it is not going to be there, than to have them find out once on the ship.

Sadly, the orange mango soup served at the welcome aboard lunch on the Magic is gone. There is an orange papaya soup served at the regular rotation dinner in Parrot Cay which is good.

The one served now in Parrot Cay is actually a chilled mango and papaya soup. But it is very good, like you said.

The welcome aboard buffet had a strawberry mint soup last April. It was good. I have never had the mango soup.

[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]1 cup buttermilk[/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]2 cups orange juice[/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]1/4 cup honey[/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Salt and allspice to taste.[/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Method:[/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Blend mixture until totally smooth. Chill for one hour and serve garnished with fresh mint. [/FONT]

You can use fresh or frozen puree.

Thank you for the recipe!!!! I will have to try it. I was really disappointed that it wasn't on the lunch buffet. I didn't like the strawberry soup at all.

We were just on the Magic last week and had a chilled Mango and Papaya soup at Parrot Cay. YUM! Palo also had an AMAZING Mango sorbet.

That pretty much describes it...... although not as thick as a smoothie. The chilled soups are really good. When we went on the Wonder last April, the orange mango soup was no longer offered.

I made a Mango papaya chilled soup last night and it was fabulous. My recipe is as follows
2 mangoes
1 small papaya
3 or 4 scoops vanilla ice cream
1/4 cup light Karo syrup
1/3 cup passion fruit puree
1/2 tsp vanilla

Blend all ingredients together. Chill several hours or overnight. Yum! Yum!!

I found passion fruit puree in the freezer section at WalMart with the other frozen fruits. It comes in a flat package.

We just returned from a 4 day Disney cruise on the Wonder. We had the Chilled mango papaya soup. The last night of our cruise we ate at Animator's palate and the soup was being served at Parrot Cay. They actually went to Parrot Cay and got the soup for my son and me and even brought us a double portion. They also serve a wonderful chilled strawberry soup.
