Hi all. I was just browsing around and the menus for a couple of the places we'll be eating, and 1) Blown away by the prices, and 2) concerned that taking my picky-eater children to these places will be a major waste of $$! Can my teenage children order from the child's menu in, say, Brown Derby or Raglan Road? I realize they're older and should be more mature, but I've failed to teach them to be adventurous when it comes to food! :headache:

Thanks!

They should be able to order off the childrens menu if you are paying OOP. If you are on the dining plan I can't say for sure but I still think so.

My teenage kids won't eat "weird" food either. I've never had any problems with asking for a kids meal for them and a lot of places will give you an adult sized portion of the kids meals if you ask them. When we are on the dining plan, I usually pay cash if they get a regular kids meal and save the TS credits for another meal (like a buffet or somewhere that I know they will order a regular adult meal).

They can also request adult entrees without the sauces and substitution of the side dishes if they can't order from the kid's menu or if something on the adult menu "kinda looks good."

Also, don't hesitate to ask to speak to the Chef at a TS restaurant. My sister decided she was going to be a vegetarian at ~14. Problem was, she didn't really like vegetables or cheese either.
A month later we went to WDW and finding meals that were meat free, veggie free, and cheese free was a challenge. Most of the time, she ate spaghetti. Finally, she decided she was sick of spaghetti with marinara sauce, and my parents asked the waiter (I think at Citricos) if there was anything they could modify on the menu. The called the chef, who chatted at length with my sister and ended up making an awesome meal just for her. We were all jealous! Point is, if you really can't find anything to eat on the menu, don't hesitate to ask for help.

Okay I have to LOL at a vegetarian that doesn't like vegetables! :rotfl:

Tell me about it! There were about two years there when I swear she lived on raman noodles.
Fortunately, her tastes have matured and she's now a much more well-rounded vegetarian.
