Something my DD6 said yesterday reminded me of a children's story I had many years ago. It is about a little boy who is flat, 2-dimensional, as thick as a piece of paper, and the adventures that he would go on. He could slip under a closed door and one time mailed himself somewhere. Can anyone help?!?

Thank you,
Peggy

Flat Stanley?

I didn't know there was a book about him....

Sounds like Flat Stanley to me - I think a book fell on him (which is why he's now flat) - I'm not aware of any book about him.

It is Flat Stanley and there is a book...DD's teacher sends it home with him when he comes to your house. It's something along the lines of "The Adventures of Flat Stanley". Explains how he got flat...a bulletin board fell on him while he was sleeping in this book.

Wow, you guys are amazing! Thank you very much. I found just the book that I was remembering on Amazon:

Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown, Steve Bjorkman (Illustrator)

It was written in 1964 but they have a revised edition out (1996).

I'm confused by the posts that suggested Flat Stanley but didn't think it was a book, what else is it? TV show?!?

Thank you again,
Peggy

Its a very funny book, and I think there is more than one... I think I saw in the library.. Flat Stanley Rides Again...etc..

Its a very funny book, my son read it when he was younger, and loved it.

I had the same reaction to the thread. I didn't remember a book. The big thing with Flat Stanley is as a school project. DD did this a number of years ago, and I think it went something like this: The student gives or mails an actual flat stanley to a friend who then takes Flat Stanley along with them someplace and then returns him to the student. The student then write a little report about the adventures Flat Stanley just completed.
