How strict are they at sit down places on ages? My DD will have just turned 11 when we go. I've looked at the menus and there isn't anything on the adult menu that she would eat - she's a vegetarian and mac and cheese & cheese pizza is only on the kids menus.

Will they let her order from the kids menus?

Yes, your daughter can order off the childrens menu. Adults sometimes even order children's entrees. I think the age restrictions have more to do with the DDP. If you're paying OOP, it's not an issue. :thumbsup2

Rule of thumb, you can always go down but you can't go up.

Meaning that if you are an adult you can order off the childrens menu but if you are a child you can not order off the adult menu. This is what I was told by several CM's.

you can if you pay cash, just not on DDP :thumbsup2

There are many vegetarian selections at Disney. Every menu has at least one selection. Your DD should be able to find things that are veg besides mac & cheese :)

You mean, if I want to spend MORE money on my kid they aren't going to let me???? It would make much more sense to not let an adult order a kids meal than the other way around.

AS stated above...........you can order whatever you want if you are paying out of pocket for it........IF you are on the dining plan then your child can NOT order off of an adult menu......and only if you are on the dining plan.

As long as you are paying OOP, anyone of any age is free to order whatever they want off the menus. There are no age restrictions. If a 6 yr. old wants to order the Mushroom Filet at Le Cellier, and his parents are willing to pay for it, it's no a problem. The DDP won't let a 6 yr. order that Mushroom Filet, unless the parents pay OOP for his meal. An 11 yr. old on the DDP can order whatever he or she wants, but it's kind of a waste to pay adult DDP prices for kids entrees, even if they get a larger portion.

Okay, that makes sense for the DDP - which we won't be doing since we're staying off-site.

Thanks!
