Will Table Service Restaurants (non-buffet) allow you to order from the children's menu if you are not using the dining plan? Thank you for info

It depends on the restaurant. Disney-owned restaurants allow it, but there are some non-Disney-owned restaurants that don't allow it. Via Napoli is one. I can't remember the others.

At CS restaurants you are not restricted to ordering from the adult menu. At Non Disney owned restaurant, it is always up to the restaurant.

In Sept, while in the parks, I ordered off the kids menu for lunch almost every day. I couldn't get enough of the Smuckers Uncrustables and they'd let me sub for a soda or fries instead of the other choices that came with the meal if the QS offered it.

Exactly - my 18 yr old dd orders from the kid's menu all the time at TS & CS, although I've heard stories about VN having an issue with that, it is probably the only place she doesn't order a kid's meal...otherwise never a problem even at non-Dis owned restaurants. Yes they may do an adult portion and/or upcharge but it's mostly "simple" food and that's why my dd prefers the kid's menu.
