Children's menu age limit?

Is there an age limit on children's menu usage? I don't see one looking at the menus through here. I can't believe that my kids will be old enough to pay adult tickets. They still eat like kids though and would much rather chomp on chicken tenders or mac and cheese than sea scallops.

We wouldn't be on DDP but we do like to go to Jiko, CG, FF for nice family nights out. Can they still eat off the kids' menu?

Age limit is 9, but that means nothing if you are paying OOP. They will not give you a children's menu when they seat you if your kids look older than 9. However, just ask for one when being seated. As an adult, there have been several times, I have ordered of a children's menu, when to stuffed from snacking during the day! But keep in mind, you will have to pay an adult price if over 9 years, for buffets, shows, and family style TS.

At these restaurants, I currently can't see any reason why they would not be allowed to order from the children's menu. You may have to ask for them to be given one though.

Thanks for the tip on buffets. We don't do them often but the price difference probably will keep us away.

If you ask for the children's menu, they'll give it to you even if you were on DDP. I went to Garden Grill when I was 17 and due to not having any interest in what was being served to the adults, I was served the children's meal. The chicken nuggets, and dirt pudding were really good.

I regularly eat (and pay) the child's breakfast plate at the values resort foodcourt, but would not expect to pay child prices anywhere else. We found buffets to be the best choices as our DS and DD grew: it allowed them to experiment but always with the average-fare as fall-backs. Try the Tables In Wonderland card for a straight 20% off your ticket (including liquor). It's a great discount plan for a family if you can't eat through all the courses plus snacks for a full dining plan. We save hundreds every trip with it.

How old are your kids? Do they look well over 10?
I have heard reports of people ordering off the kids menu, being served the kid portion and then being charged an adult price for it. I have heard other reports of adults ordering off the kids menu and paying the kid prices. I don;t know if it depends on the restaurant or your server.
if they ask how old your kids are - and they are ordering off the kids menu - you might want to ask if that's the price you will be charged. If they say no - ask if you will then receive an adult sized portion and maybe have your boys split it. If they don;t ask age and your boys are close to 9 then you might feel safer that they will just charge you child prices.

If you're at a family style all you can eat that has a children's menu like Garden Grill, or offers child friendly alternatives like 'Ohana, kids over 9 can order those foods but they will be charged the regular adult price for the family style meal.

I haven't heard of kids over 9 being charged adult prices for a child portion at an a la carte restaurant, except in the case of guests who use an adult dining credit to purchase a meal from the children's menu. I have heard of the a la carte restaurant upping the portion of the child's menu food and charging an adult price for it. So if you're thinking of ordering from the child's menu because you want smaller portions for the kids you may want to ask what that particular restaurant does in that instance, and if you're doing it to save money you may also want to avoid the one price family style places.

DD will just have turned 10 and DS will be just shy of 12 when we go so they definitely look like kids. DD is more adventurous so she might try some adult menu items but they both are planning already to have the mac and cheese at CG.

I am in the same "boat" as you with a DD who is 10 but is pretty picky and eats very small amounts.

In my experience, if you are eating somewhere that is not counter-service, you will most-likely be paying an adult price for the children's menu items. I've never had a problem with counter-service, though.

I've had a different experience. My 12 year old DD still eats off the kids' menu at non-buffet TS restaurants with no problems or issues.

It has been a while since I last ordered a children's menu item at a TS or had my kids eat of the children's menu so I'm sure your experiences are probably more accurate.

my dd is 20 and is such a fussy eater, she prefers ch finger, burger, kids menu more or less, I was just wondering ,we have the reg dine plan 1-1-1, but if she can eat from the kids menu, couldn't i just pay from pocket and sort of save her 1 sit down meal for maybe myself, somewhere else ?
