Children/Junior for 7 days? Annual Pass?

Hello!

I am starting to create my budget for a 2020 spring break trip to Universal. When I create a package on the Universal site vs hotel alone it looks like Seasonal Annual Passes will save us only about $40 compared to the "3 Park Unlimited" tickets that are with the package. This is for staying 6 night at one of the resorts with unlimited express passes.

That savings assumes that the one child I am having to buy "junior" tickets for can just use a "child" seasonal annual pass? Is that right?

We are going to stay Sun to Sat, so depending on flights we would head into the parks for 6 or 7 days.

Thanks!

(This is probably just my first of many, many questions since this will be our first Universal trip.)

I don't believe there is any such thing as a child annual pass. All passes are the same price whether you are an adult or a child.

Thank you! I totally see the prices are the same now. So are the “junior” and adult tickets showing in the package.

I am also seeing that a seasonal AP isn’t a good choice since we are going during Mardi Gras concert time and there are restrictions.

I wouldn't discount the idea of AP's. It could potentially get you a decent discount on your hotel rates. I presume you are looking at March 2020? As long as it isn't the few days around Easter (which I think is early April in 2020?) it is possible there will be AP rates for the hotels which might make them more appealing to you. Even if you are there during Mardi Gras time it should only mean you are excluded from entering US on those days (Sat/Sun). We were there during March last year and just planned to go to IOA on Sat/Sun and US on week days. My one piece of advice would be to book hotel and buy tickets separately (not part of a package). There isn't usually a savings that way and it gives you the most flexibility to look for discounts if they are booked separately. If you want to compare AP hotel rates for this year to give an idea of what hotel rates are with that discount, you can check them out here.

I think that you are right. I think the 2 park seasonal pass would save us a lot of money on the ticket and the potential hotel savings. We might end up upgrading to the 3 park pass if the weather ends up being really warm.
