As it say's above, how many night's a week do your kid's have activities after school.

I'm beginning to think i should start running a taxi service.so far we have...

Monday-swimming
Wednesday-gymnastics
Thursday-Tae kwon do

Thursday-Violin but during school time.

But there name is down for brownies so that would be a thursday and we would change Taekwondo to a monday after swimming.

All the above are thing's that they do want to do and their never forced into anything but where to you draw the line

You best get used to it Vicky, cos as they become teenagers, you'll become more and more like a taxi service :rotfl: Eldest DD helps out at the local youthclub for 5 - 11's on a Tuesday, she has Rangers on a Wednesday, Youth Club on a Thursday, another Youth Club on a Friday and youngest DD has dancing after school on a Wednesday and also attends the Youth Clubs on Thursday and Friday. My social life is non-existent compared to theirs, nevermind, I still have you lot on the Disboards :)

When my children were younger (now all 3 in their 20's) both girls had dancing lessons 5-6 times a week each, plus guitar, plus cello and my son had Judo, cubs, football and at one time he had dancing too. When they stopped, my life became my own again (and we had a lot more money!!!)

I've finally got mine down to one a week, thursdays he has football sfter school I find it really hard as I don't leave work until 5:30 and don't get home til 6pm so anything he does after school is down to my parents to ferry him around, or his ex nanny Jo whose son also does football on thursdays. I feel so guilty trying to work full time, it really gets me down but I used to work 3 days doing a job that paid twice as much but gave ten times as much stress so I'm no longer snappy and short tempered in the evenings but am constantly plagued with guilt :guilty:

I'm lucky/Unlucky that i only work part time so i am the one that ferries them about to all these thing's.Unlucky as i could do with working full time to pay for it all. :rotfl2: But i don't have a family member to look after them and there would be no point in working full time and then paying some one else.

This is my daughters (15)after school shedule for the week, and this has come down somewhat in the last few months lol, plus homework and studies for GCSE's on top.

Monday - Band Practice (Rock)
Tuesday - Football Practice,(Drum Lessons at Lunchtime In School)
Wednesday - Night Off Hooray,(apart from the drums upstairs)
Thursday - Windband Practice, Netball,
Friday- Drum Lessons, followed by Rock Band Practice.

This also use to include 3 nights of Ice Hockey practice with the Cardiff Devils, which she had now just finished completley.

Roll on when she can drive herself lol, but I am very lucky as Vicki's nan helps out a great deal with being taxi.

Of course i forgot the football, cricket practice after school once they get old enough. They have already been asked to do these once they get into the right class.

Plus homework has to fit into all this somewhere.

I just think it's too much for 7 year old's but they enjoy it all or they wouldn't do it.

I have two DDs, 12 and 6. the only night we don't have anything is a Monday. However, we have swimming lessons for the 6 yr old Saturday mornings and drama class for both Saturday afternoons but at different times of course. My whole life is run on a schedule, their schedule!

My big problem is that DH changed his job last year and is now working away from home most of the week. Unfortunately I don't drive, but I'm learning  so on top of paying for the classes it also costs me a fortune in taxis each week. My MIL who looks after them during the week whilst I work does help out as much as she can. I just desperately need to pass my driving test :earseek:

Well since I've now moved office had to buy another car so that DP can support the taxi service to activities. DD's are 8 and 3, while DS is 5.
At the moment only 2 therefore have full, active social lifes. Can't wait till youngest DD joins in :teeth:

Monday DS Swimming lessons DD Brownies
Tuesday DS Football training, Anchor boys (evening)
Wednesday DS and DD local drama group

Next week DS is at Aberdeen FC training all week :earseek:

I'm easy. I have one son who is a great kid.

He plays hockey (Tier 1 - Squirt Majors AAA). He's on the ice about 6-8 hours a week. Tuesday and Thursdays from 6:30-8:30 with 4 games a weekend.

His homework (4th grade - age 9) is averaging 2 hours per night, plus 20 minutes of reading and book reports.

WOW! Laurajean that seems a lot of homework for a 9year old, I moan when my son has 1 project a week and all week to do it in!

I have 2 boys....Sam aged 7 & Tom aged 13 this is my after school week!!

Monday......Both at Karate but in different groups so we are there between 5-7pm

Tuesday.....Tom at Karate at 5-6pm....Sam at football between 5.30-6.30 (so I have to dash around as the venues are 20 mins apart!!)

Weds....Sam Football training 5.30-7.00

Thursday....Sam swimmimg lesson 5.30-6.00....Tom Swimming Club 5.00-7.30 but at a totally different pool!!

Fri....Tom football training 5.30-7.00

Saturday Morning....Both at football between 10.00-12.00 (league matches so can be at different venues so hubby and I have to split and watch the sepretley!)

Sunday....Both at football again (sunday league teams so exactly as saturday morning so we can be anywhere at different venues!!)

They both play instruments at school and Tom is also in a few after school activities including the football team so many times I have to pick him up from school and straight to another club!!

and NO I dont have any hobbies or life of my own!! :rotfl:

It's non-stop isn't it?!

Mon - Tae Kwon Do
Tues - night off ;)
Weds - Athletics Club, Reading Club and Tae kwon do ( I don't like Wednesdays much LOL)
Thurs - Keyboard
Fri - nothing though often friends over

DH & I both work full time and it can be a nightmare to try and juggle it all. It's great that they have so many interests but sometimes I wish they had less :rotfl:

Monday - DS and DD have reading club at school. Swimming lessons in the afternoon.
Tuesday - DS has his 'cello lesson and DD has her piano lesson.
Wednesday - DS has junior cricket.
Thursday - DS has junior Math challenge.
Friday - DD has dance club.
Saturday Morning - Tennis Tuition

All of the activities are at school (and most directly after school), so there is not much problem with transportation for me (although school is 30 minutes away by car!). DH often picks them up on his way home from work (if he is in the local area).

I think having lots of extra-curricular activities (and introducing them early-on) is vital. These days universities don't just require good grades, but a well-rounded person as well :)

:wizard:

Monday

DS8 has Karate 5-6

Tuesday and Wednesday

Thursday

DS10 has football training 5.30-6.30
DS8 has cubs 5.45-7.45

Friday

DS8 has Karate 5-6
DS10 has Karate 6-7

hi

im glad to see im not the only one whose life revolves around hobbies (as i dont work) by choice. my friends all think im mad as we do so much

mon - swimming
tue - orchestra
wed - free
thurs - singing
fri - choir
sat - ice skating am piano pm
sun - day of rest

then there are any shows or events leading from hobbies which can be quite regular.

its a good job i dont work as i need to organise tea and stuff (prepare) as some hobbies are on till later. it is as they say a full time job (that i love). some of these hobbies are longstanding (3+ years) others are new (6 weeks). orchestra is due to violin that is taken at school.

love

lucy

As they grow up the taxi service doesn't stop, infact it get worse because the days and times vary and often you just get a few minutes notice when you receive the phone call to come and pick them up :)

Eldest DD (16) often goes to the next town (Hinckley) to her friends and a youth club on a Friday night. So I'm usually expected to pick fetch her back (usually about 10pm , and usually with a car full of her mates as well, whick I'm expected to drop of at various locations). It always seems to be me that picks them up late at night, rather than the parent that takes them in the early evening! So, I have to sit at home all night and not have any wine :(

Still, I would rather pick her up, than have her try and get a bus or taxi at night :)

I have actually got a sticker in the back window of my car. It read "Dad's Taxi" :)

I don't have it so bad.....yet.....
Eldest (4.5) has Swimming lessons on Thursday Tea Times, and Ballet on a Saturday Morning.
She's in a show in December at the Blackpool Winter Gardens called "Twinkle Toes 2005", and the rehersal schedule looks a bit grueling...its going to cost me a fortune in parking etc, and Im a bit concerned about her having later nights than normal on school days.
Ill be taking the youngest swimming to the same school pretty soon, which will be another £28.50 every 6 weeks for me to shell out !

Oh no,we now have choir starting on a tuesday. All we have left is a friday now.

Tron-regarding parking,it's a bit of a nightmare in blackpool isn't it.I know it a bit of a walk but there's a car park on caunce street now ,when i noticed it the price wasn't that bad only a couple of £'s.

OH MY GOODNESS! I have all this to come
