So I got thinking about something today when we comparing some prices.

So "rule" is that if a child is 2 but turns 3 while visiting Disney on property they don't need a ticket....does that rule also apply to off site trips too?

I am not trying to criminalize anyone who has stayed off property and done this. Because heck I would love to get 2 more days of him being 2 before we have to start paying for him.

Now the good person would be to go ahead and get him a ticket but at the same time is 2 days really worth it?

I am not trying to cause anything here but I can't be the only person who thought this either.

Yes technically I have heard it counts for offsite as well. I would say if you are in the same week of your child's birthday you arne't taking advantage but if you come down for say a month and still a month later aren't paying you are taking advantage.

You don't need to buy a ticket. You'll be fine. It's never been about onsite or offsite.

Onsite/offsite..doesn't matter, it never has. Disney is simply saying that if during the trip the child turns 3, not that on site is any different than off site

You're fine for park tickets but double check your receipts at buffets. I had a tall 2 year old and I think we may have been charged for him a few times when he should have been free, but my husband usually paid the check.

It's not like you're going to carry his birth certificate with you during your trip to prove he's not yet 3!

Technically, the age transition is done on the honor system. Don't make a big fuss about it, and don't abuse it, and it'll be there for everyone to enjoy.

I've always carried some form of identification for my kids when we travel - be it an airline flight, or a long car ride. You never know what may happen. So, yeah, I'd have had at least a photocopy of a birth certificate for each kid on me for a WDW trip.

The whole point of "you don't age at Disney" was so that parents wouldn't have to buy half a week of tickets for a just turned 3 year old or both child and adult tickets for a just turned 10 year old. It never had anything to do with being offsite or on-site.
