Ok, I know this has probably already been covered somewhere in the massive Dis board archives....but...
My 8yr old does not want to ride the rollercoaster rides. Can we all go throught the line like at Rock n' Rollercoaster and then do the child swap? What we did last year was I waited with her while DH rode with the other kids then after he got off I got in line with them and did the ride. Is there a better way? Can you only use the child swap if the child is too little for the ride?
I have no idea how this works..can someone enlighten me???? :confused3

Disney Official Guide "At attractions with age or height restrictions, a parent who waits with a young child while the other parent rides the attraction can go right on when the first parent gets off. Be sure to ask the attendant."

It is my understanding that if the child is big/old enough to ride, then they do not do the child swap. We have been able to do it on a couple rides with our child who is big/old enough BUT he is disabled.

I think now with FASTPASS it shouldn't be as big a problem. Everyone gets the pass including the child who doesn't ride. When your DH comes out then you go in with the pass and someone who wants to ride again in place of your DD.

I did childswap with my 8yr old daughter on rock n rollercoster, she's petite for her age but was over the height limit. The ride was down when we got there so we got FP's and came back later. As the rest of my party was entering the FP line I told the CM checking FP's that she didn't want to ride & could I get a child swap. I got one NP and we waited outside the ride. Later the same day DD decided to try it but chickened out when we got near to cars. H asked about getting a child swap but they told him he could just wait to the side til we got back and then go, since we didn't want to miss one of the shows he didn't wait around and went to save us seats instead.

Ask the 1st CM you see when you enter the line to see how the childswap works for that ride, I've heard some rides do it differently and the only one we used it for was RNR.
