Hi, I've been wondering about what we'd do when my youngest child (who will be 3.5) can't ride the rides. I think "child swapping" with my husband or older children would work out well. Although I think I have a basic idea of how this would work, I don't know how it actually works at the parks. Can anyone explain the process the CMs use at the different parks? Is there a website or FAQ page that explains this? If so, I'd be happy to research it myself if someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance! :) :flower:

Hi there. THe whole family will go to the line que, and the CM working that line will direct you on where to wait for your party and give the non riding parent a pass good for up to 3 I think...soooo the kids make out great cuz they can ride twice! LOL

our family would go to the entrance of the ride and ask the CM for a child swap ticket. the CM would hand us one tix (looks like a FASTPASS tix). I would take the tix, DH and my 2 kids would ride the ride while I waited with the 3yr old usually somewhere near the exit. In space mtn, I'd wait in the gift shop, or RnR outside by the exit, etc. Then DH would stay with the 3yr old and I'd take my other 2 kids and go back on the ride. Yes the older ones made out on this deal, 2 rides right in a row. I never took DD3 into the actual queue but waited outside the attraction.

At Test Track , there was an area at the exit where they have all the GM cars displayed and there was a CM at a table doing some crafts with the littler ones who couldn't ride.

If both parents go through the line, then the parent waiting with the child doesn't have to go through the whole line again, but can stay at the front and swap the child as the first parent exits? Does that make sense?

And if I were to wait elsewhere (not in the line), then could I go to the front of the line (with my swap ticket) once my husband and other children exit?

Thanks so much for being patient with me and explaining how this works. I think that (if I understand this correctly) this will make our trip go much better than I had anticipated. I'm so excited! :flower:

I never waited in line with DH and the older kids. Just asked for the child swap tix right at the front of the entrance to the line of the ride. Then I'd take DD3 and walk around a bit outside, usually tried to stay in the general area where the riders exited, then DH would take the younger one while I and the 2 older ones would go back to the entrance, show the child swap tix and enter into the fastpass line while DH and the 3 year old stayed outside. DD3 never actually waited in a line, who'd want to bring a 3yr old in a line when you didn't have to? Basically a child swap ticket is like a FastPass ticket, there's no seperate line for child swap, you're just admitted through the fast pass line.
