Child swap for ride question?

This will be our first trip to Disneyworld with our daughter (2.5 years old). We plan on doing mainly attractions and shows that she will enjoy. However, there are a few rides, for "adult" riders only, that both my husband and I enjoy as they are our favorites (Tower of Terror, RNR Coaster). With that in mind, I do understand that guests with small children can take turns on doing the ride. But I don't understand how that works. Can someone help explain?

For example, do we both wait in the que line with our daughter and then when we get to the front does one parent wait with our daughter while the other rides and then we switch her off? Does the person who is watching the child but hasn't yet gotten on the ride automatically get to get on the ride or do they have to go through the que again?

Well generally you will both go to the entrance of a ride and see a CM tell them you want to baby swap and they will direct you what to do. Most rides send one through the line and then the person with the baby waits by the exit-then when that person is done- you get to go on through the fast pass line. So you don't really have to wait long but you may have to wait awhile on a ride with a long fast pass line- like Splash Mountain.

This will be my first time with my second child. How does the swap work if you have 2 adults and 1 child that want to ride (and one child that cannot ride)? With the 1 child that wants to ride be able to ride twice with each adult or will they just have to choose who they want to ride with and wait with an adult the second time?

That one

Definitely look at the baby swap, but the single rider line is sometimes faster. Look at both then decide.

Ask at each ride, we've been handled different at different rides. We just did it on SM this last trip and you wait inside the building where the cars unload, then walk upstairs to a certain place to load (my riding children road twice).

As others have said, ask the CM at the entrance to the ride because some handle it differently. Some have you swap at the ride, some have you swap at the exit and finally most will hand you a special parent swap Fastpass that's good for up to 3 people to return any time that day.

So if its a popular ride, we'll go and get Faspass AND we'll ask about parent swap and get the special Fastpass swap ticket and go from there. Our older DD gets to ride at least twice this way so she's a happy girl!

This is such a great thing! My DS (4) loved this feature, since he got to ride 2x on everything we swapped! Have a great time!

at Tower of Terror and RnRC they wait in line with you - then for tot right before you get on an elevator for another line, they take you on the "chicken exit" elevator - DD was a little freaked thinking we were going to "trick" her into riding TOT!! But we were at the exit of the ride, we waited till my parents came off, then dh and I followed back up and got on the next elevator/ride...

at rnrc again they stay in the que line (but always ask - it could change) until you get on, then a CM will show you the exit to the 'shop' and you wait, then swap...

on Test Track, I thought it'd be the same, but when we got to the car, and told the CM we wanted to 'swap' it was "you're supposed to tell the CM downstairs" talk about feeling dumb!! They watched dd while dh and I rode, she stayed in an off area, I felt guilty the whole ride!! :upsidedow
