I'm sorry, I can't think of another way to describe it.

DH and I are buying a computer for our kids (7 & 5) for Christmas. They have one right now, but it's an old clunker that cannot possibly connect to the internet (WAY too slow  ). When we do set this new pc up, I want them to have internet access, but only to a select list of websites that DH and I can set up for them.

Is there software out there to do that? I don't want the kids to be able to free-type an internet address. I want to be able to check out the sites first and then add them to their list of "allowed sites" if I approve.

Thanks for any info!!

I have had MSN premium with my Verizon DSL and have been using that for some time.

We use BeSafe On line for virus protection but it blocks questionable sites - however it times blocks too much for me and my husband.

We found it through Daveramsey.com

Net Nanny and Cyber patrol are very well known ones used by a lot of schools and libraries. You need to be aware NONE of this software is foolproof and it's still important to monitor activity

Thank you SO much for all of the great options. We will definitely look into them all.

And yes, Alex - we will definitely be monitoring their pc time...that is why we've decided for a shared pc downstairs in the toy room/living room and not individual pc's in their rooms.

Thanks again!
