Hi all! First let me say that I've been spending litterally hours reading these discussions and there is just so much great information here! You guys rock! :cheer2:

I've been reading up on the child care programs for my 7 year old daughter - like the dolphin camp (my finance and I would probably benefit from some time to ourselves one night :) ) and I'm a little confused. Has anyone used these services? How did you find them? You can use them even if you're not staying at that particular resort, right?

Yes, you can use them, no matter what resort you are staying at. THey are at Animal Kingdom, Grand Floridan, Polynesian, Wilderness Lodge, too.

I'm not sure if you have to stay at the Swan/Dolphin to use Camp Dolphin.

Cost is $10/hr, per child, and there is a 2 hour min. They serve dinner between 6-8, and are usually open 5p-12a.

We used Simba's clubhouse, at AKL, last trip. My kids loved it. They beg to go. We are trying the Neverland Club, this trip.

They give you a pager, in case they need to get ahold of you, and you can go anywhere on Disney property.

Welcome to the Dis, by the way. Keep reading, and asking questions, and you will find out more than you thought possible.

Have a great trip.

Hi...my two boys stayed at the BW Harbor Club which has since closed I believe. (It might be open temporarily due to BC kids club rehab, but will be closed thereafter.) They stayed there one night in Dec 02 (ages 9 & 6). Both my boys are fairly shy and weren't thrilled to be going there. DS-6 seemed to have a better time than his brother. There were more kids his age and they played together, watched a movie, and had a decent dinner (that is pre-ordered). DS-9 just played video games the whole time...which he enjoys, but also was a bit lonely. I think they would go back, but I'd try Neverland Club or somewhere else, if I had to do it again.

There were 2-3 caregivers at the Club, depending on the # of kids there. One CM was 'older', a bit like a supervisor who didn't interact with the kids much. Then there were 2 'college aged women' who seemed to play and read to the kids to keep them involved. My boys thought they were teenagers!

We try to leave our kids ( 6 & 10) for 2 - 3 hours one night while we are on vacation. One of our favorite restaurants is the Kona Cafe at the Polynesian and the kids like The Neverland Club at the same resort so that helps. Not that you need to do it that way, but it may be easier to leave her at the club at the resort where you are eating?

As I said before, my kids have been to The Neverland Club and really enjoyed it, and they have also been to Simba's Cubhouse at the AKL and liked that too.

Good luck!

Jill

We have used the Neverland Club at the Poly (my DD's favorite) and the Cub's Den at the WL. We found them to be a lot of fun for the kids. They will give you beepers if they need to reach you, and the phone number in case you have to get in touch with them. We found the castmembers to be very nice with the kids, and I know my DD just didn't want to leave!

My dd will be 4 at the end of july...we are going to wdw July 1-7. Will they let her in any of the clubhouses? How do they know her age? Do they check her id? :earboy2:
