I have been desperately searching for a thread or website where I read something about Disney hiring caregivers to have a party at the Grand Floridian, across the hall from my reception I know there is a child minimum for the party...etc. Sound familiar to anyone??

Thanks!

Its called Kids Nite out. Its a minimum of 11 kids (although you can have less you just have to pay for 11 kids). We had one & it was wonderful!! It was the best thing for all the kids and the parents.

Do they offer the Kids Nite Out at any other location besides the Grand Floridian?

Yes - it is offered in any venue that has a room close enough that they can keep the kids in. For example, as the other post mentioned, American Adventure Parlor for American Adventure Rotunda and Italy events.

If there isn't a room close enough, you could also have KNO come to one of your guests' hotel rooms (although they might not be able to make it a party - just the usual in-room sitting with games and activities). They do private babysitting all over the Orlando area, including Disney resorts, off-site resorts and time shares. :thumbsup2

One of our groomsmen and his wife used Kids Night Out for their 7 year old son and they loved it. We had an early morning ceremony in Italy and then our reception in ADH which ended at 3:00. KNO did alot with him and he just loved it. We did not do a party because this was the only child that anyone brought down for our wedding.

So they DO Kids Nite Out for wedding ceremonies?

They do it for however many hours you want. It just cost more as your paying per kid per hour, but if you want to you can.

They just used KNO like a babysitting service - there was only one child but they did watch him all day. I think the mother missed our ceremony and just came to the reception. I think the reason for this was they booked it last minute (like the day before). They were originally going to have a family member that lives in Florida come to babysit for the day but they were unable to make it. They inquired at Guest Services at their resort (POFQ) and were able to get somethng for the following day.
