Chicks and Roosters...part 2

Happy Monday!

Glad the wedding went well. Ouch on the feet. I don't do well in dress shoes.

Daisy did graduate although she was a bit stubborn at first. For her graduation gift, I bought her a lookout car seat thingy. This way I can keep her tethered to a seat but she can still see out the window. Yes, she's spoiled.

OMG Susan, Daisy is the cutest thing! That graduation hat takes the cake. :lmao:

I need to get myself into the packing mode today. I'm not pulling a Joanne and waiting until Saturday night to pack for our trip on Sunday.  Last week I really felt like packing but couldn't because we needed the suitcases for the weekend. Now that they are empty I don't feel like putting stuff in there....................yet. :upsidedow

Good morning!

Yes, Daisy is cute. . . and she knows it. She uses it to her great advantage when she's being naughty. She's at the vets today getting "fixed". It was hard to leave her today but the thought of dealing with her going into heat was more than enough encouragement. Plus I need to get her a license so we can go to the new doggy park.

I know so many people who are going to WDW in the next few days. There's going to be a lot of packing going on! Good luck with that.

I'm not really packing until tomorrow. I went to Walmart this morning and bought new socks, ipod charger, snacks etc. I've got all of that kind of stuff packed and ready to go, just not the clothes.

I'm about to go bake some cookies for Kelsie to bring to school tomorrow. Exams are over first thing and one of her teachers in the afternoon told the class they could have a little party if everyone brought something. They only have seven kids left in that class because she was with mostly Seniors and they've graduated already. Only one more day of school then it's officially summer. :woohoo:

Ah. Summer. The good ol' days! The last day of school was always the best day of the year.

We have the big Strawberry Festival this weekend. It's really less about strawberries and more about people selling junk but you never know when you might be talked into a magic mop or a dashboard cover!

TGIF!

My kids were up before I had to wake them this morning. You think they're anxious to have this day over or what? :rotfl:

Well I moved the suitcases off the floor and onto my bed. That's as far as I've gotten. Oh and they're open.

Opening the suitcases is the first step! Now you can start throwing stuff in them. That's how I pack. I open up the suitcase about a week before a trip and when I think of something I throw it in. I organize it the day before while I go through my checklist.

I'm so sleepy. Daisy was up most of the night. I don't know if all the pain meds wore off from the surgery or if she was having tummy problems. She just didn't want to go to sleep. I hated hearing her whine all night. It made me sad - but also grumpy because I wanted to sleep! She seems fine this morning.

Tricia, sorry I missed you, hope you have a great trip!

The weather has finally been so nice I've been able to enjoy it outside. :cool1: May head to the beach today.

Susan, I hope Daisy is feeling better. It;s so sad when animals are sick.
I know I've said it before but just love her name. :goodvibes

Hi Joanne, you didn't miss me. We leave tomorrow morning at 3:30. Going to the beach sounds nice. Has it been hot enough by you for the water to not be too cold?

Susan how is Daisy healing?

Good morning! To whoever is still out there. . . .

Tricia, I hope you are having a wonderful time!

Hi Joanne! I like the name Daisy too but sometimes it seems like too sweet a name for a naughty little dog. She's doing all right. Nothing stops her.

Hey everyone! It seems 'Websense' is down for a spell, so I thought I'd get on and say hi before being blocked again.

Honestly, things have been just non-stop busy at work and at home, so there's not much for me to say besides that. I sold my little plane, which is one thing that used to keep me busy. It turned out the monthly and yearly costs of owning even the 2-seater plane I had was eating too much disposable income, so I had to face up to facts and get rid of her. I miss her, but the monthly money I'm no longer having to spend is nice to have again.

I hope everyone is doing well!

Hey Grim! Good to see you!

Joanne isn't around much because of work, and Tricia is at WDW, so I'm pretty much it right now. Nice to have someone to say hello to.

Work is pretty nuts here too. We lost an employee and apparently she isn't being replaced so that means much more work for all of us. Hope you stay unblocked!:hippie:

Happy Friday! To whoever is around. It's kind of echo-ey around here.

I'm excited for another weekend. Hopefully it will be a good one.

Was that a grimley sighting?

Susan thanks for keeping this thread alive. I know we don't have many people here any longer but I don't want it to die.

Mickey and friends send their regards. We had a great trip, the week went by all too fast and my legs are really tired so I guess you could call that a successful week. I think I mentioned that we stayed at the Bonnet Creek (right next door to the Carribean Beach) in a four bedroom condo. That sucker was 2500 square feet and oh so nice. We were on the 15th floor, had an EPCOT view and watched the fireworks every night from our balcony. It was so nice to have all that space but in a strange way I missed being cramed into a Disney bus every morning. I guess you have to take the good with the bad.
First the rain.........well it did rain every day except the last day but it really didn't interfere with our plans. It was beautiful every morning into early afternoon. Only once did we have to wait out a storm. All the other days we must have timed it right and were inside an attraction while the rain came. It never lasted very long and really helped to cool things off a bit.
Eating..........I have to say one of the best meals we had all trip was at T-Rex. That place is really cool, the Caveman punch (with lots of rum) came to me in a blinking cup and my whole family enjoyed the food. Kelsie and I had some kind of grilled chicken in a fried pizza dough wrap. Mark and Colin had ribs and chicken and Kendall had the shrimp. We will definitely go there again. Our usual place to eat on our first day is Rain Forest Cafe but I think we just found a replacement. We went to Ohana for breakfast and that was our favorite breakfast ever at Disney. Chef Mickey (for dinner) was just ok and we probably won't bother going there again.
It felt very wierd not being able to go on Space Mountain over and over again. It was closed for refurbishment which we knew ahead of time but still missed it terribly. Here's a sign that your kids really are growing up. They all said that the Magic Kingdom isn't their favorite park any longer. It's a toss up between Animal Kingdom and EPCOT.

More later..............

Tricia, that's a great trip report! Please write more. I love reading those.

I didn't know SM was down now. Didn't they just rehab the ride just a couple years ago? I won't ride it now, because the rehab made it even darker, it seemed to me. I know it goes probably not over 25-30 MPH, but I can't stand not being able to see where I'm going. Even Rock-n-Roller Coaster has better visibility.

Good to know T-Rex sounds good. We, too, go to Rainforest Cafe just about every trip, but wouldn't mind a break from that.

The weather you had sounds like typical summer weather in Orlando. Those rains definitely help for a few minutes with the heat, until the sun comes back out and turns it all back into humidity.

Happy Monday everyone!

Yeah! Tricia's back!

I'm glad you had such a good time and that the weather didn't detour you. I don't think T-Rex was open the last time I was there (4 years ago!) but I'll be sure to put that on my list for next time.

They re-did SM at Disneyland a couple of years back and it's now a much smoother ride. I like it better now, but I'm always paranoid that I'm going to hit my head on something. I know that won't happen because at 5'9" I'm not the tallest person to ride that ride, it's just paranoia.

My weekend flew by but it was pretty relaxing.

Good Morning.

Here's a not so good story of something stupid I did on our trip. Last Thursday we were watching the fireworks from our balcony and in the dark I was trying to fool with my camera. I wanted to change the setting to the fireworks scene to try and get some better shots. Anyway I started pushing buttons on I deleted all my pictures. I felt just sick to my stomach. I started crying because I was so mad at myself. Yesterday I took my card back to the store that I bought the camera from. They are sending it away to try to recover the lost pictures. I had over 200 just from Disney. I don't think it looks too good because the lady tried to recover them in the store and she said she didn't see anything on my card. She's sending it off and supposedly they have a much better program at the main office. It cost $45.00 for them to try and recover the pictures but I'll get my money back if they can't help me. At least my sister was with us the whole trip and I can get a copy of all of her pictures but I still want my own. So it might me quite a while before I can post any pictures at all. I'll find out on Thursday afternoon if they were able to help me.
