Chicks and Roosters...part 2

Good morning all!

I hope Kendall has fun! :cheer2: How long are going to the shores for?
Wouldn't disposable clothes be nice so we don't have laundry and more important the blahs! :lmao:

It's finally Thursday! We are getting close to Friday and I can't wait! Of course nothing exciting is happening but that's the point. I am hoping to get some things done at home and maybe sleep in a little. Grocery shopping might be a good idea. I've had turkey sandwiches for lunch every day. I'm getting a little bored. Either that or I need to buy more turkey.

Have a great day!

Good morning all

Friday it is!!!  I hope everyone has a good weekend!

I'm so glad it's Friday. It's been a rough morning and I'm considering crawling under my desk and taking a nap. :rolleyes1 Some days it's just not worth getting out of bed.

Have a great one!

And now it's the end of the day! Susan, I hope you have a great weekend.

I spent the day researching home school stuff. There are definitely the people who do it b/c of reasons I don't quite understand - but there is also a huge group of people who do it for a year or two b/c the public school just isn't working out that time, for their family. Who knew?

I think I'm going to be able to justify a new laptop out of this, in the name of homeschooling. :rotfl:

Tricia - I got teary the one and only time Kailey slept outside of our house. And she was five houses away. All this growing up they keep doing.

Good morning chicks.

Yesterday was the day I took Kendall to cheer camp. Talk about a noisy ride there. I had three girls with us and they were so excited and loud. Too funny. :rotfl: We went back last night because they were competiting their home routine. It brought tears to my eyes because that was the first time she wore her uniform and performed with her squad.

Today I'm running around doing all the little things you do before vacation. I have to get the oil changed, go to the bank and grocery. I hope you all have a great Saturday.

Good morning!

Glad to hear that Kendall is off to camp. How long is the camp?

I've got to get busy typing. I can't remember if I mentioned my mom was taking an online class and I am her typest. I've got one paper to edit and then she's got a 10 pager due tomorrow so I'll be spending a good amount of time doing that today and tomorrow.

I'm also trying to fit a movie in. I'd love to see either Batman or Mama Mia. It will all depend on how much she writes today and how much I type. Have a great weekend everyone!

Susan - I think I'm going with some women next Sat. to see Mama Mia. They went to see "wanted" - that movie with Angelina Jolie - last weekend (instead, I just met them for lunch) and one of them said she felt like she had been physcially mauled by the end of it... so glad I didn't go.

Tricia - that is so sweet re Kendall!

I have finally managed to unpack the last box in the house from our move a year ago. It ended up being old towels. Soon I'm going to have to start on the random junk in the garage. Aaron is pretty sure the movers did not give us the metal bits to our jogging stroller, so I need to figure out what to do with it, as I'm pretty sure without the metal bits, it won't work properly. :rotfl:

Good morning chicks.

We are heading over to my mom's today for a big pot of gumbo. Kendall asked if I bring her home some to eat tomorrow night because the camp food is gross. :scared:

Susan how is the typing coming along?

You're going to need a finger massage when it's all done.

FAB congrats on unpacking the last box. Now you have a nice and orderly home.

So when is Lori coming back. It seems like she's been gone quite a while.

Joanne I see your weight loss ticker keeps rising. Good for you! :thumbsup2 I'm at a standstill right now. I lost my drive and willpower. I'm trying to maintain until the kids go back to school then I'll rejoin Weight Watchers.

Happy Sunday. We did get to see Mama Mia this morning. It was really very cute. I'd never seen the stage show so I enjoyed it. I will say that the men in the movie are not great singers. At all. Other than that, it was a lot of fun.

I'm currently typing this while listening to my mother in my kitchen muttering over where her quotes came from. She's referring to this monster research paper of course. I think we are close to being done. The big part is over.

Fab, I've been living in my house for 5 years now and I still have paintings I haven't hung.

Susan - thank goodness for that painting comment as I was wondering how I was going to address the inaccuracy of Tricia's "now you have an orderly home". :lmao: Er, no, now I have a pile of old towels that I need to address, a garage full of bits, and a family who thwarts me at every attempt to organize anything. But it's a nice vision.

And btw, you are a saint for typing all this stuff for your mother. Especially with your recent arm troubles.

Tricia - don't all kids complain about camp food?

Good point... LORI WHERE ARE YOU??? :wizard:

A very early morning hello to you all.

We have to get Kendall out of the dorm by 7:15 so that means an extra early wake up call for me. The final competition

starts for 9 AM and they want everything back in order before that. I'm thinking that I'm not going to have a happy 16 year old when I go wake up Kelsie very shortly and tell her to get up.

Tomorrow I leave for vacation but I'll try to post again this afternoon. TTFN. :wave2:

Good morning all

Tricia, If I don't see you again have a great vacation!
And have fun with the teenager. :rotfl:

Hey all! I'm not "blocked" right now, which means our blocking server is down for a while. While it is, I'll take the opportunity to say "Hi" to all those Chicks out there, and any Roosters still brave enough to hang around.

Good morning!

Hey Grim! How are you? I think you are the first Rooster in a while. I told GD to get over here, but he didn't listen.

I'm done typing for my mom and she's done with her class! :yay: These classes are nightmares for the whole family. Even the dogs get upset.

That was a short cheer camp Tricia! I hope she had a good time. Have fun on your vacation if I don't get to tell you again.

Lori??? We want to hear about your trip!

So what's this I read about Adventurers Club shutting down later this year? That makes me very, very sad. I haven't much cared for the rest of PI for a decade or so (my screen name gives a hint of my age group), but Adventurers Club was unique. I think you could put AC in one of the parks, and it would be THE place to eat and have even non-alcoholic drinks. I'd love to see it moved to Adventureland (I know; there's zero room in there), have it serve snack types of foods and (in keeping with MK policy) soft drinks, etc., while retaining all the shows, the small audioanimatronic things, etc. It'll probably never happen. But I will definitely miss AC. :(

I've never been to the Adventurer's Club. I've never really been to PI, except in passing during the daytime. I BEGGED to go the first time I went to WDW but I was 17 and my parents were having none of that.

I've heard good things about AC though, and it would have been fun to try it out.

We used to go to PI at least once every trip, before we had kids. Once we had our first daughter, we went once to AC when she was about three. Big mistake, as the only thing she enjoyed was the mask room. So we've not been back since. I had hoped it would still be around when our DD's got to be teenagers and could handle some of the adult humor better. But sadly it will not be.

Still, though, strip out the alcohol, the adult humor and leave the AA's, actors, mask room, etc. and it would fit absolutely perfectly in Adventureland, and it would still be a lot of fun. It would be the perfect indoor place to enjoy a nice cold Dole whip.

Grim it's so nice to have you stop by. Isn't it wonderful when things so wrong at work and you get to DIS all day. :thumbsup2

Kendall's team won 1st place for the Extreme Routine they learned while there, 2nd for Cheer and Stunt and the Home Routine they went there with. They also won the Spirit Award for being the friendliest squad. The Spirit Award is voted on by all of the groups so I thought that says a lot about the girls since they were voted on by their peers. She had a great week, came home with practically no voice and can't wait to go back next year.

We leave tomorrow morning for vacation so I'll probably not be checking in. Have a great week and I'll check in when we return.
