Chicks and Roosters...part 2

Oh Dear God!!!

Why why why why why?!?

(I watched American Gladiators the other night. I got interested. Too interested. It's on my DVR record schedule now. I thought I was smarter than that - obviously not...)

...As long as we're talking about guilty pleasure TV shows...

Hey GD! Don't feel bad. I've been watching since week 2. I decided I didn't need those brain cells anyway. I really just watch to look at Titan though. :lovestruc I found myself cheering on the gladiators instead of the contestants though. I think that's wrong.

I don't like Wolf. I don't.

See, I think I could totally rock out on some of those events. Some, not so much. I could swim under fire all day long. Fighting with giant Q-tips? Count me in. But I couldn't climb a wall even if there was a pit bull attached to my butt. Maybe if they had some kind of ala carte "middle-aged-guy" handicap thing going, where I could pick and choose the events. I'd be getting fitted for my spandex bodysuit right now, let me tell ya.

Sacrificial brain cells. Interesting idea. Like they're martyrs, giving up themselves for the common good.

GD, did you have any storms last night? We were pretty lucky and only had to go to the safe room once for about 5 minutes. But our backyard furniture was in the front yard this morning!

I'm sure you would be awesome with a giant Q -tip! Speaking of which did you see Titan knock that guy down in 2 seconds? I could do that too, I could also swim but I'm with you on climbing a wall. I'd just grab hold and wait for the gladiator to knock me down.

What don't you like about Wolf? Is it the whole howling thing?

Arkie! I'm so glad you are all right! I was thinking about you this morning.

Lori, is the plumber cute or something? That would get me excited.
Acutally he looked to be about 12. And his helper guy looked about 14. I was hoping the owner would make a personal appearance, but he sent these guys instead. Actually I was told that the owner was out helping with the search efforts in a neighboring town--people missing from last nights storms. :guilty:
I was excited because calling the plumber was something I had put off for months thinking I could just live with the problem. You know. Kinda like having your upper lip waxed. But alas, the clogged bathroom drain became increasingly annoying as I faced each morning looking at stray whiskers and toothpaste that wouldn't go away--in the sink--not my upper lip. But now it's fixed!

It started getting windy about 11:30 last night. Not much rain until early hours of the morning. I woke up about 2:30 because of a loud THUMP against the house. KAMommy 'persuaded' me to go out with a flashlight to check things out - whatever it was wasn't around by the time I walked around the house. I stayed up and read in the living room. We woke up to tornado watches & warnings in the general area. Nothing major for us - a few branches down, a stoplight was out on the commute in... The severe weather alerts ended about noon today. Right now it's sunny, warm (high 60s), and windy (20-25mph). All of our yard stuff was present and accounted for when we left the house this morning - but there has still been alot of wind since then, so we'll find what we find when we get home.

What I don't like about Wolf is the whole Wolf 'package'. The howling, the smarmy-a$$ grin, the cocksure attitude, the beefcake posing... (Who am I kidding - I'm jealous. He's probably howling all the way to the bank, popping a 'roid and laughing his butt off...)

Another show I have recently gotten into is "Jon & Kate + 8" on TLC. Jon is a guy I can identify with - his attitude is alot like mine. It gives me the shivers thinking of having to deal with that many kids (a set of twins of about 8yo and a set of sextuplets of about 3yo).

Good morning all! :hippie:

I hope you guys are okay with that nasty weather.:flower3: Sounds like it was scary!

I'm staying away from the football threads today. I've spent the last 3 days debating. :sad2:

Morning!

I didn't know there was a debate about football? What happened?

Nothing much happening here today.

GD and Lori, I hope things have settled down weather wise. Give me an earthquake over a tornado any day.

Hi Susan!

I's just alot of trash talk between the Patroits fans and mostly the Giants fans. I always get wrapped up in that crap.

The game is over, it wasn't a controversial end from what I saw so people should just move on. :) It was a good last 5 minutes though and I don't watch football!

Good morning all! :hippie:

I'm glad it's Friday!

I don't do all the smilies Tricia uses. ;)

That reminds me, we forgot to do the hump day announcement she does. Well, happy two-days-after-hump-day!

I guess she'll be heading home soon.:guilty:
But she can relive eveything by telling us allllll about it!

Good morning! I am so very happy about it being Friday. I'm ready for another weekend! Of course I'm not doing anything exciting but at least I won't be at work. :)

Good Morning.............I'm back! :teeth:

We got home around 3:30 yesterday afternoon. If driving 10 hours wasn't enough I then had to pick up Gracie:dogdance: at my mom's (another 45 minute drive):headache: but it was worth it. Gracie had a weeks vacation out in the country.

I have mounds of laundry to catch up on and of course there is no food in the house so you can see how I will be spending my Saturday. I'll pop in later with the details and see if Kelsie can help me with some pictures.

TTFN.

Welcome back Tricia!
Can't believe you're home already.

I hope you all had a great time. Looking forward to hearing all about it. :cool1:

That's how I feel about any day off. It's nice to wake up and just chill at home. :)

Good Morning!

Welcome back Tricia! We missed you and hope you had a fabulous time! You'll have to tell us all about it when you get a chance.

I'm enjoying my cup of coffee and my laptop on this lazy Saturday morning.
