Chicks and Roosters...part 2

Good morning all

Tricia, I'm sure Kelsie will do fine. She still has senior to take them too.
Does she take the SAT's?
Valerie took those twice and got average scores.
She did very well on the ACTS so the school advisor told us to just send those scores to the colleges.
'
Collegeboards.com is where I've been spending most of my time.
To be short it matches the colleges with all the info you enter.

I'm having a stressful senior year.:rotfl:

Good morning.

I hope you all had a great weekend. Our weather is finally fall like in the mornings and evenings. During the day it's still pretty hot but at least I know it's coming eventually.

Did any of you happen to see the Saints play in London yesterday? Great game. I'm still not sure why the NFL sent us over there to play but we'll take the win. :thumbsup2

I have to go to the dentist today. I broke a crown about a month ago and today I get the permanent one. Fun, fun, fun.

Good morning.

Monday again. Rats.

I thought that was pretty weird aobut the Saints playing in London. It's cool and all, just weird. I finished the top of the quilt this weekend so the hard part is over. I'm backing it with fleece so I don't even have to battle with batting. I should get it done this week.

Tonight I am going to see The Duchess. I don't know much about it but my friend has free tickets so why not.

Good morning.

So Susan how was the movie?

It's hair cut day today. I feel like I have so much extra time this morning because I didn't do a thing to it. I'm sure I won't be looking my best at the bus stop this morning but right after it leaves I'll be heading to the hair dresser. Why bother doing my hair twice? :confused3 So I'm not.

Good morning!

The Duchess was a really good movie! I was surprised because I had no expectations. It's your typical story of a woman who enters into a marriage based on title and prestige, is asked to give the man a son and ends up having daughters. Of course that's always the woman's fault right? I wouldn't recommend it for young viewers because there were a few scenes that were on the verge of graphic. No nudity though. It's also very much a chick flick. I don't think there was a weapon fired.

Good morning.

It's darn right cold over here. We are in the 30's this morning. I really wanted fall weather but not winter. I think Mother Nature got her memo's mixed up and gave us Joanne's weather instead. :guilty:

Good morning all

Tricia the weather is in the 30's?? You're right Mother Nature got lost and went south.:lmao:
That's a big difference from a week ago!
It's getting cold here but I expect that for New York.

Has anyone ever bought glasses from Zenni Opitical where you buy them really cheap online?

I'm tempted to try them after going for glasses( bifical because I'm old :rotfl: ) they cost $500. I only wear them on weekends so I', not fussy.
And I still have to get contacts.

Good morning!

I haven't tried that place for glasses. I'm still wearing my same glasses from about 5 years ago. It's terrible. I go back next week to have an eye check and get a new prescription for my contacts. I never did take my glasses prescription and get new glasses. No point now! I'll have a new one come Monday.

It's cold in the mornings here but it's not too bad during the day. Typical fall for us.

Just thought I'd give a quick "shout out." I was blocked again at work for a week or so. I'm unblocked now, but that's probably only temporary. I hope everyone has a great Halloween!

Good Morning.

Joanne I've never ordered glasses or contacts online before. I'm running low on my contacts so I'll be going in soon for an exam. I use the throw away kind but don't wear them everyday. Really I'm more like a once a week contact wearer. Staying home I just put on the glasses.

Grim it's good to see you when we can. I hope your girls have a fun night.

Susan are you dressing up at work this year?

I gotta be honest: I don't know how people can stand to put contacts in their eyes. Granted, I have excellent vision (in return for terrible hearing), and I only wear some very weak glasses when at the computer at work. This is mostly for the anti-glare coating on the lens, than for the tiny bit of correction they provide (I'm actually very slightly far-sighted). But I can barely stand even trying to get an eyelash off my eyeball, much less putting in or taking out contacts every day.

Well, it seems I'm unblocked again. Let's hope it lasts a while. I do miss being able to come here when I'm blocked.

Anyone in here doing anything for Halloween? I guess our plan is to just take the girls trick or treating around our neighborhood, and then drive over to my Dad's neighborhood and do the same there. We usually light a couple of jack o lanterns (I carved two excellent ones a couple days ago) on the porch, leave some candy out for trick or treaters and take off. Unfortunately, we don't get many in our neighborhood, so most of the candy is usually still there when we get back.

I doubt I'll dress as anything, unless I get up the nerve for one thing: going to a Cincinnati Bengals game a few years ago, I bought a jersey of a then up-and-coming middle linebacker named Odell Thurman. Later that year, he was caught with cocaine, and later arrested for another violation. He has since been arrested once or twice more, and he has essentially been out of football for the last two years, suspended by the NFL. The Bengals finally cut him for good this summer after he apparently violated his probation yet again. He is the poster boy for the image problem in the NFL, and especially for the Bengals. I still have the jersey though. Should I wear it? It is otherwise the biggest waste of money I've ever spent on one article of clothing. I could never wear it to a game again. I'd be laughed out of the stadium.

Good morning!

Glad you are unblocked Grim!

I'm not sure if I'm dressing up or not. I've resisted it for the last two weeks and everyone is bugging me about dressing. I don't really want to and now I might not just on principle of them bugging me. We'll see.

We went to Kendall's last football she had to cheer for. The season is over and now we'll be moving on to basketball. At least those are indoors. It was rather chilly out last night. Yes I brought a blanket with me and I'm glad I did. You know us southerners can't handle the cold.

So Susan what did you decide for today? To dress up or not. :confused3

Good morning all

Happy Halloween! Hope everyone enjoys their day!

Stay away from those candies!! :rotfl:

Good morning everyone and Happy Halloween! I did indeed dress up today. I'm wearing my Odell Thurman Bengals jersey. To top it off, I printed a sign that says "WINNER" on it, and am taping that to the jersey whenever I go anywhere. Given that the Bengals are 0-7 this year, and looking unable to win a single game this year, the addition of the sign completes my costume.

My costume is called "Sarcasm."

I hope you all have a great day!

Grim, I love that idea!

I ended up wearing a shirt with a spider web on it and my tiara! :lmao: There is no rhyme or reason to my costume but who cares.

Good Morning.

We had a very busy weekend and thoroughly enjoyed each and every day of it. Friday night we went to a football game. The band was all dressed up in Halloween costumes instead of their normal band wear and that brought a different and fun vibe to the game. We lost by one point but hey it was still fun. Saturday night we went to a corn maze. We found our way out so we were successful. Yesterday I went to the Casino with my SIL. No winner here but had a great day and ate a wonderful buffet. It wasn't on Weight Watchers :confused3 but I enjoyed it non the less. Now I'll be exercising and drinking gallons of water to get that off by my weigh in on Wednesday. :rolleyes1

I hope you all enjoyed the weekend and had a fun Halloween.

Hey everyone. It was a pretty good, and mercifully quiet, weekend here. We took our DD's out on Friday night. Our 9 YO dressed as Dorothy from Wizard of Oz and our 5 YO dressed as a witch. I went as my forementioned costume. No one really got it. They just talked about how lame a Bengals jersey is these days, not noting the "Winner" sign I had draped over the jersey. Oh well. It turns out they actually did beat Jacksonville yesterday, so maybe they are winners for a week or so now.

We have a farm around here that features a corn maze, or maize maze, if you will. The farm closed last weekend (it's a place that features the maze, a huge pumpkin patch, petting zoo, picnic areas, etc.), and we went on the very last day it was open. It's become a bit of a tourist attraction, so it was pretty packed. It wasn't quite "Disney crowded", but I was still having visions of screaming Brazilian tour groups as I was trying to get out in nature and grab a good Jack O Lantern pumpkin.

When the crowds cleared out later in the afternoon, I braved the maize maze with my DD's and some of their friends. We got separated. I have to admit I was quite frightened trying to find them, to no avail, and not even hearing them anywhere. I walked all the way through the thing (it's carved into the shape of a bear) a couple of times shouting for them until I gave up and walked out of it. It turns out they had walked about 50 feet in, turned around and walked out of it, while I was searching for them. Talk about "Children of the Corn". :) But those corn stalks were probably about 10 feet high, and there was no seeing anything except the path. Next time I fly, I'm going to fly over that maze and try to learn it better before going through there again with a bunch of quick-footed kids.
