Chicken Salad with grapes-dumb question

I love chicken salad and always put the grapes in right away. Never had a problem.

I use chicken, Hellmans, some poppy seed dressing, purple grapes and celery if I have it. Then some salt and pepper. I have used apples before too.

I always put the grapes in right away and never have a problem with that. I often make a batch and eat it for lunch for the next few days.

Okay, some of you have been holding out on us. Hand over more recipes, please. :teeth:

I generally use chicken (paoched breasts or wahtever leftover I have from another recipe), chopped celery, a bit of diced (very small) red onion, a can of pinapple tidbits (drained really well) and green grapes cut into quarters. I mix a container or two of plain yogurt (not mayonaise--I hate mayonaise:rolleyes:) with a pinch of garlic and ground corriander and then mix that into the other stuff to hold it all together. To really make it great I put fresh cilantro on the sandwhich as I make it (can't mix that in it wilts). I like it in a whole wheat pita but will eat it on just about any bread or cracker.

I love the Chicken Salad in the Sourdough Bread bowl at the warf in DCA. The last time it had large slices of apples, mayo , walnuts, maybe celery-maybe not but it way yummy...just not enough. My sister makes it with mayo, craisins, pecans, vinegar, salt and pepper.

Thank you!! I made up the chicken salad and left the grapes separate over night. Was worried about the water content but now the chicken soaked up some of the mayo so I am going to add some ranch dressing like someone here mentioned, to give it a little kick!!

I didn't add nuts, didn't have them but next time I want to try the chicken salad with cranberries and walnuts I sometime buy.

Thanks again!! I knew this was the right place to come!:cool1:

I make a chicken salad with mayo, celery, gala apples, pecans and red grapes. I've made it the night before I planned to eat it and never had a problem with the grapes making it watery, but the pecans got too soft for my liking. So I make the salad the night before with everything but the pecans, and then add them in the morning so they have a little while to meld with everything else, but don't get too soft.
