I'm waiting Motrin in hand and I have a cool cloth ready for her head. I may have to pick up some of those strips. That sounds like a great thing to have around.

My 9yr old came down with them on Monday. She is doing much better today finally. She and I were up much of the night on Tuesday as she was sooooo uncomfortable. Nothing we tried would stop the itching. Then I remembered the old home remedy my mom used on us when we had pink eye as kids. After soaking a tea bag in hot water, wrap it in paper towels and use it as a warm compress. I don't know if the warmth is the soothing factor or some other properties in the tea, but I remember it worked wonders when we had pink eye and it helped with this miserable chicken pox too. I'm glad your DD is starting to feel better. Hope that means she is over the hump, so to speak.

Mine is still running a temp and breaking out more! They told me today that she could keep getting more for the next 2 or 3 days. She seems to have a spell every afternoon when she feels better, but then when evening comes her temperature spikes again.

We are afraid that one may be getting infected. It is on her ankle and her whole ankle is swollen from it. Now it hurts to walk. We called the doctor again tonight, cleaned it with hydrogen peroxide and put Neosporin on it. They said to try heat and then cold on it to see what happens and call them in the morning.

Many {{HUGS}} and anti-itch PD for her. I had the chickenpox at the age of 28.

I had them so bad and itched so bad, I thought I'd lose my mind!

I can remember standing in front of the mirror counting them and I had 100 on my face alone! I was eating Benadryl like candy and that did no good. Finally, I called the doctor back and they literally gave me something to knock me out. I think I slept for almost 2 days straight. I definitely got the shot for my dd's. They may still get them, but hopefully it will be before they are an adult and maybe it will ease the degree they get them now. Again, many {{HUGS}} for her.
