Sorry if this is a dumb question...but how was your oldest injured by a vaccine?
Just in case you were asking in a general sense as well as a specific one, you might want to read this page.
Basically, a percentage of the amount charged for each vaccine goes to a fund that helps children injured (and even killed) by vaccines. Whenever someone has a reaction to a vaccine it is supposed to be reported to a central agency; this includes a fever, high pitched crying, and far worse. In my time since I realized that I don't support vaccines, I've read and heard time after time that doctors poo-poo reactions, saying that a fever was caused by an illness they must have already had, that the crying was just b/c it hurt, and so on and so forth. They do NOT like reporting it.
Sadly, the reports should go to ACCURATE information and knowledge of the problems with vaccines. It would be like if there was a problem with the Disneyland Hotel that kept happening, but the people you complained to never passed along the bad reports. The management wouldn't know what was happening, and would think they were 100% perfect. So there's incomplete and inaccurate info about the safety of vaccines, b/c MDs are so adverse to reporting adverse events post-vaccination.
The South Park chicken pox episode has ruined me forever for sending DS to a CP party, but man oh man do I wish he'd just get it already so I don't have to think about it anymore. Wish we had been at Disneyland during the same time frame. My favorite scar is from chicken pox; it's right in my eyebrow and it looks really cool.
