I'm wild with curiosity about the chicken exits. Have you ever taken one, and are they interesting? I've heard that the chicken exit from the Haunted Mansion, for example, keeps the theming throughout and you can see the bell ropes for the various rooms. But loving the HM as I do, I can never bring myself to get so close and then not ride through it!

A chicken exit, by the by, is a way out of a ride or attraction once you've entered it, if you change your mind about experiencing it, but I suppose if you've gone through one, you would already know that! :sunny:

So, tell me all about the various chicken exits!!

The chicken exit at Tower of Terror is cool. You tell the CM that is loading the ride elevators that you aren't riding. They take you to another elevator where a CM will take you down one floor to the area where you can see the pictures of the riders and you can meet up with your companions who have ridden. The funny part is that you aren't really sure if the elevator you get in to "chicken out" :scared1:is the ride or not! Trust me, it's not. On the ride, you are seated and strapped in, on the chicken elevator, you are standing just like a regular elevator.

On RNR, the chicken exit goes straight to the gift shop, nothing special. The pre-show for RNR makes it worth the wait if you aren't riding.

I've never taken any other chicken exits.

Eljay -- too cool! Is the ToT chicken exit elevator really identical to the ride elevators?

On RnRC, do you go through a door near the loading area, and is it like being 'backstage' or does it look like the rest of the ride area?

Thanks so much!

I took the chicken exit for Mission Space, and honestly I can't tell you what it was like because I was consumed by worry that somehow I would end up on the ride!

My DH has a GAC so we actually went in through the handicap entrance at Haunted Mansion last September. It was SO well themed that DS4, who has been on HM countless times, was so freaked out that we had to take the chicken exit. Again - it was very well done and kept the theme until we exited right along with the other riders. I was really impressed. It makes the whole house look even more like a haunted residence and less an attraction.

A side note: I wasn't really thinking and when I asked the CM I specifically asked her where the "chicken exit" was. DS heard this and was actually tickled that we went through the Chicken Exit. He reminded DH of this for the rest of the trip. :rotfl:

Seriously - it is extremely cool!

Yes I admit I took the chicken exit too for MS. I think it was the same exit though for regular riders. Just a long hall.

We did the chicken exit for ToT a few years ago. Instead of the regular child swap, our entire party went through the beginning and then dh went through the ride and dd, ds and I went down the other elevator and met them at the bottom. When dh was done, I went back up the elevator I had come down and got in the line (dd decided this time she wanted to go). When I came back down, ds had decided he did want to go, so they let dh and ds back up. With our little ds (2) and ds (2 months) I dont know if we will go through the first part or not.

I will be taking the chicken out exit for Tower of Terror in May. My friend wants to ride it, but she would have to drag me on it dead for me to go with her.

Many years ago, DD took the chicken exit at ToT, and when we met up with her, she was wearing a bellhop costume, greeting people who were getting off the ride. They even took a Polaroid of her.

Chicken exit at Space Mt. is not themed, jsut a hallway to the area where people depart the ride.
