Chick-Fil-A invites customers to visit for National Sandwich Day (on a Sunday)

It appears some are trying to make this political.
Funny, if those of you never posted it would have continued to be about the food and customer service.

If it's all about the food and customer service, why would anyone "laugh" at someone just for saying they weren't impressed with the food or the service? Seems like it's not just the "haters" trying to get in their ideological leanings.

We haven't been to CFA in forever. We used to stop every Monday morning for a gallon of unsweet Iced Tea and a coffee for my DH. We would get the tea within a few minutes, but would often have to wait 10 minute or more for DH's coffee. We don't go in the evenings or weekends because it's incredibly crowded. The parking lot is a huge nightmare.

While I do love their waffle fries, I am not a fan of their nuggets or chicken sandwiches. I've ordered nuggets a few times and they were so salty our Golden Retriever wouldn't even eat them. But their fries and tea make up for the salty chicken.

My mom just reminded me of another spectacular CFA experience.

I can’t remember exactly when this happened other than my brothers were home. Which means it had to have been in the summer during college break several years ago. My one brother picked up food for us. Yet another $70 plus order. My brother brought it home and 1 item was missing. It was something small like a yogurt. Anyway, we called and they apologized and said if it wasn’t too much trouble, to come on back. So my brother did. They remade the ENTIRE order. All because they forgot 1 yogurt. I think I lived by the best CFA ever. That was the one and only time they have ever forgotten anything in one of our orders. I miss that place

Yeah isn’t it just basically their chicken fingers on a bun? That’s what it used to be years ago.
Yeah. That’s one reason I have never ordered it. Well, I am sure it has cane’s sauce on it and maybe some other toppings. But 3 fingers on a bun can be kind of awkward to eat lol

Ideologically I am very against Chik Fil A.

But the kids love their food, and I think their grilled chicken sandwich is much better than most places. Don't like waffle fries at all though so I don't get excited about going, but on rare occassions when we do fast food the kids usually choose there or Culvers, so we go.

The employees are beyond nice. The drive thru line is always crazy long, it is managed as well as it possibly can be, with employees outside walking by the cars taking orders, but still takes quite awhile.

One time I got a diet cola and my daughter got a regular at the drive thru. We were handed 2 drinks and I asked which was which and the girl said "ummm, I really have no idea" and then handed them to me. After I gave her kind of a crazy look she said, ohh umm I suppose I could try and figure it out for you. Lol, not a big deal - my daughter tasted both and we moved along, but just saying that every once in awhile the employees there are human too.

Also to be fair - after a disaster of rerouting airplanes/storm issues we ate at the chik fil a in the Tampa airport and I gotta say the manager working the line there was the nicest/happiest person I've seen at a fast food place. It was like he was single handedly trying to fix everyone's travel/storm angst.

I love their chicken mini's and their chicken bagel breakfast sandwiches. Their regular chicken sandwiches are pretty good. The service is what is really special. Like when I shop at Publix. Makes me have hope for humanity.

They are human too and do make mistakes. I will give any place a second chance but some places just don’t seem to ever be having a good day.

I actually have had it a few times, but there's really no reason to ever eat it again. It's greasy, the buns taste tasty and the waffle fries are soggy. The sauce is good, I'll give 'em that, but you can get good sauce lots of places, particularly ones that aren't so preachy they have to apologize for not being open on Sunday.

Of course. Their marketing team is very astute and savvy. There would be nowhere near the attention if they initially announced they're celebrating on Monday because their stores are closed on Sunday.

Though it would have been kind of funny if people who don't realize they are closed on Sundays all took to their nearest Chik-Fil-A to wait for a sandwich, only to find that the chik'n wasn't coming, leading people to swear off the place forever.

Why are you agains them?

They're preachy? I really have never gotten that vibe from them. What makes them preachy?

I kinda treat them, Hobby Lobby and all the other places that are closed on Sunday like the small businesses that are often closed one day during the week like Monday. My eye care location for instance (and the eye care provider as a whole isn't really small business either) is closed on Tuesdays (other locations throughout the area are closed on a different day).

I'm not really a fast food fan at all; we do eat it but for me it's choosing between things that I dislike least. I've had Chik-fil-A a time or two, it's not available locally and while it was OK, my DH picked it up so I can't attest to the service. Service at literally every other place is uniformly bad though, with McDonald's being the worst for surly, disengaged employees and Popeye's is a gong show for wait times, items out of stock and getting the orders wrong.

As far as grocery stores go, it's a total exercise in frustration. Never any clerks on the floor or if there is, they often respond to questions by saying it's not their department. Many stores have gone to self-check-out and those that haven't lack cashiers and the full-service deli, meat and bakery counters are under-staffed or not staffed at all during slow times. Our very largest chain is one where you have to bag your own groceries and even the good places don't have courtesy clerks to bag or assist with taking groceries out. Given that I spend almost as much money per month on food as I do on my mortgage, it's a real drag. I wouldn't care what the owner's ideology was - if I could find a grocery store anywhere with what I consider to be good service, I'd be a customer for life! :thumbsup2

They say things like "see you at church" when they're closed on Sunday? They put bible verses at the bottom of their soda cups? It'd be one thing if they simply weren't open on Sunday, but that's not the way they tend to go.
Combine that with some of their other history, plus the food just not being very good, and it's a lot easier to just go somewhere else.

Ah ok I see; I gotcha. Those haven't caught my attention TBH.

Can't say I ever looked at the bottom of their drink cups but I have some coupons for them so next time I go I guess I'll look.

I'm more likely to see the funny billboard signs on the side of the road. Maybe it's where you live? IDK I don't follow them on social media or anything so maybe that's where some of the stuff is at. I may have heard of the "see you at church" but I can't honestly tell you if it was here or somewhere else. It didn't stick in my mind that's for sure.

If I saw "see you at church" in an ad or on social media I'd probably think "no you won't but I'll see you the next time I'm craving some of your food" ;)

The grocery stores in Canada are awful. At least the 3 chains that we go to. They don’t bag and charge 5 cents for each bag. If Publix was here they would really hurt the other grocery stores. I had never heard of charging for a bag.

DH and I went to Publix and the clerk at checkout was such a nice guy...chatty and pleasant without being one of those over-sharers (like when I check out at Walmart and say "how are you" to the clerk and they tell you about their divorce, their gout, how they aren't even supposed to be working today, or how they are happy to be getting off in 15 minutes FINALLY...), and when we were done the young lady who was bagging grocers took our cart and asked us where our car was! I almost cried.
