I'm headed into Chicago for a couple days for a conference next week.
I'm on the first flight of the day MSP to MDW...it lands shortly before 7:30am.
I'm headed to McCormick Place/Lakeside Center.
I'm looking at two options of getting there:
1. Take the Orange Line into Chicago.
If I exit at the Roosevelt Station, I'm a 3 block walk to the conference hotel where there are continuous shuttle buses taking attendees to McCormick.
OR
2. Take a cab from MDW straight to McCormick Place/Lakeside Center.
What are your thoughts on travel time?
My understanding is that Chicago traffic is worse than traffic here in Mpls. I know at 7:30am, coming into downtown here at home, if you have construction or an accident, you slow down considerably. I have no idea if there is construction on the way in from MDW or not.
If I take the train, walk to the hotel and take the shuttle bus, I figure it will take me an hour from de-planing to arriving at McCormick.
Would a cab, or Airport Express be quicker? I know it won't be cheaper.
I appreciate your thoughts.
Thanks.
