Chicago Cubs fans - Rebuilding Year 2023

Doc, I made it trough the 8th inning before hitting the hay. You're not alone!

I'm sorry I missed seeing Rossy! We watch the games through some subscription channel...can't remember which one. I'm just glad we're able to see them at all.

Now off to find this clip with Riz you all are speaking about...

Let's keep flying the W!!

I'm not nearly as good as FIN at finding the clips and posting them here, so....it's one of the clips here: https://www.mlb.com/gameday/reds-vs...5#game_tab=recap,game_state=final,game=490695

One thing I forgot....Kyle surprised me with his excellent 2 strike bunt for an RBI. Way to help your own cause!!! Good thing pitchers usually are good at bunting, because bunting with two strikes always makes me just a touch nervous. Initially, I was saying nooooo, then I was cheering!!!

Guess Kyle must be off fixing the Bud Board, lol...or making a deal with the rooftops to keep chipping away at it :rotfl2:
Here's the hopeful Broom crew for today

Whew.

#CubsWin #FlyTheW

Got home in time to see the last 3 outs once the bases were loaded. I almost had a caniption (sp?) fit when I saw that, but Uehara closed it out with some rather good pitching (I think).

I didn't realize today's game was in the afternoon so I missed seeing Javy's grand slam. Bummer but way to go!

Duensing and the bases loaded both made me go :headache::mad::scared::crazy2:

Thankful for the W! :thumbsup2

So I know some of you may find this cruel, but I really like Happ in left, Almora in center, and Heyward in right. Not sure where that leaves Kyle but with the way Happ is hitting right now, you can't sit him.

If Theo gets offered a stud pitcher for Schwarber, you gotta give it some serious consideration.

You were the one just to the left of the guy with the Cubs hat, right? :duck:
not even close...I'm the one to the right in the Cubs jersey

That was Javy's first Wrigley grand slam. He's letting all the arm chair managers know he's not going anywhere, lol.

Hey Chicaco (and the rest of us)what do you say...Cubs are gonna win today! Go Cubs Go!! Not to be greedy (well okay, maybe a little), but I want another sweep guys! Keep the bats hot and keep up the good (mostly) pitching.

I wish the weather would have stayed hot, dropped over 40 degrees from yesterday. Hopefully it doesn't mean the bats also go cold. The guys should be well fed after Rizzo's Cook Off for Cancer event last night,,,raised over a MILLION $ just in that event alone! :worship::woohoo::cheer2::banana: The Brewers had a 4 hour flight from SD, and Thames has/had mono so maybe Butler doesn't have to deal with him, and Braun on the DL as well. Always great to get the first game, if the weather allows. Looks like rain in the mix here and there.

Rossy's book Team Mate made the NYT Bestsellers list!

Also, I don't watch the show but KB and Jake & Rossy were supposedly in the Chicago Fire season finale last Tuesday..

Season 5, episode 22 is called “My Miracle” and features Bryant, Arrieta and NBC Sports anchor Mike Tirico in cameo appearances alongside the character of firefighter Christopher Herrmann (David Eigenberg). The Cubs and Tirico lend Herrmann a hand when he’s trying to help a boy who has lost his baseball card collection in a fire

hopefully this is a working link

I think the game is going to be rained out. My season ticket partner sent me tickets for today's game (he accidentally kept them instead of sending them to me to sell) yesterday and they are NOT selling. So, I'm sitting here 3 hours away from Wrigley deciding if I should go or not ...
