I woke up with some partial hearing loss this morning after all those screaming girls at the Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus concert last night The concert was really good, and Stephanie had a wonderful time (what a great childhood memory for her!!!). It was a nice night!!!!


Mac - I can do cliff notes .......
*The opening act was Aly & AJ, and they were very good (I do like there music)
*Hannah Montana came out with a great entrance, and she sung her heart out (what a talented kid). With all the controversary swarming her with that body double, she made sure that every time she went back stage to change she announced that her dancers were taking over, and she had to go change (the singing from her didn't continue, so she didn't lip sync).
*After Hannah was done, she announced that she was going back stage again, and she was backstage for quite some time. Then they announced that Miley was coming, and out came Miley Cyrus. She sang for a long time too, and she also brought Aly & AJ back out on stage to sing with her. It was great!!!
*The lighting for the show was great, and there were some fireworks they also lit off - it was very very exciting for the girls!!!!!

Tigggggggggern - How was your day off?????

Rose - Good luck to your Matthew with his first band concert tonight

momto1 - My friend was not happy with the snow last night (she was driving). The roads were actually fine though, which was good!!

HERSEY - I think I"m coming down with a cold too. I hope we are both wrong

Good Morning! We are still alive and well. Maybe the other day I was just really tired now I'm not sure about getting a cold or just being cold

I'm here I am just swamped with paperwork. It seems my data entry stuff is getting busier. Since that is what gives me Disney money I have to listen to that

I am still trying to wake up this morning and I've been up since 5am coffee is not working yet.

I'll try to check in later got to get in the shower and go to the other paying place.

Busy here, of course. I started back to school on Monday. One class on Mon, Wed, and Fru, then work. School all day on Tue and Thur. I have a beginner Spanish (required). It was horrible. Thank goodness for Dora or I would have been even more lost than I was!

I have a little wedding drama for all of you that I would like an opinion on. I was at a friend's house over the weekend and she was asking stuff about the wedding. She asked about the bridesmaids' dresses. I tol her they were yellow. Apparently, my matron of honor (who was with me when I picked them out) made a face. I did not see if, but it cause evryone to laugh and someone said "Oh, you don't like them?". MOH (matron) laughed and tried to pretend she did not do anything. I jokingly said "Guess whose wedding it is?".
A while later, I went to my car but realized I had forgotten my phone. I walk back into the house in time to hear MOH say something like "They are this color chiffon!" Other friend then laughed and said "what was she thinking?!?" I was so mad. I said "You should probably make sure I am actually gone before you begin talking about me." Then, no phone call or anything from her! WWYD? Thanks for reading this quasi-long vent!

Paint I'm so sorry these people can't rise above this and realize this is one day. I'm sure the dresses are fine. Try not to take this to heart. I think, why you didn't get a call is because they are embarrassed.

Slo, glad to hear that you had a good time at the concert.
Paint, seems noone ever likes their bridesmaid dresses. What matters is it is your wedding. They can do whatever they like at their own wedding. And I agree with Hersey. They are probably embarrassed about you catching them talking about the dresses. Give them a little time. They will come around (and maybe even apologize).
I got a postcard in the mail yesterday for 40% off deluxe resorts for many date choices throughout this year. Maybe a trip will have to be planned now. I have always wanted to try the Beach Club. Maybe I could try it now.
Well, I am going to go get some stuff done today. Housework must get done some day around here.

Slo..thx for sharing about the concert. It sounds like it will be a wonderful memory. Way back awhile ago, I read where you fell into the mud...I must admit I did sort of laugh when I read it...but are you okay now? I sure hope so!

Paint..I am so sorry that happened to you. I, too, agree with Hersey that they were probably embarrassed to call you afterwards.

Hersey...I hope you are *not* getting a cold. Colds are not fun! It sure sounds like you keep yourself quite busy, and could get run down easily.

Rose...congratulations on the new job for your husband.

Hi all-

Thanks all, for the congrats for DH's new job Dh really appreciated your congrats,too!

Chrissy was home sick yest. She had a fever and shivering Monday night.
She was real tired Tues morning. She seemed to have broken her fever late yest morning. Had her take a bath yest and I washed her sheets.
Did have to drag Chrissy with me to Matthew's band practice after school yest.(band practice is at a different school).
Asked my mom at the last minute if she could watch Chrissy at home last night, so we didn't need to drag her to the concert last night.
Matthew had his first band concert last night, it went really well!


Slo- glad you, Stephanie, and your friends had a good time at the HM concert Monday night Hope you got your hearing back

Paint- glad things are going well with your schooling
Sorry to hear about your MOH and bridemaids reactions to the bridesmaids dresses I hope they will turn around and act mature.
I was thinking, did you think about maybe a 2- peice outfit(top and skirt)?
Why I asked this, is my neice had a 2-piece outfit for her bridemaids and MOH picked out. I guess so they can mix and match to wear again, besides the wedding. Neice's bridemaid outfits were all brown(that was her color).
Neice's wedding was this past September.

OK, I just couldn't stand it!!!! 40% off got to me.
I called today and made a ressie for the Beach Club Resort for the last week of August. HOT!! I know. But I was aiming for the least crowded before my kids went back to school. Since we start after Labor Day, this was the best I could think to do. It is getting harder to take them out during the school year. DD just misses so much and then it's hard to catch her back up. I can change it if the dates don't work. At least until the end of March. Then the discount offer expires.
Now I just have to wonder what I'll do if we get invited to our friend's in CA whose son's wedding is at DL in June. Two trips?
Rose, hope Chrissy is feeling better fast. Flu season is upon us all now.

Slo- It is a slow time of year. the restaurant where Iwork is pretty much dead! It is cold and people are still recovering from Xmas bills!
Tiggerrn- You crack me up. You might book a trip and then, a few posts later, it's done! We went that time in August a few years ago and it wasn't too bad. It was hot, but the crowds were managable.
Rose- Sorry to hear Crissy is sick! There is so much going around this time of year. Dresses- It isn't a question of the dress style. She doesn't like the color. I did wear the top/bottom dress as a MOH (like you mentioned). It was pretty nice. Of course, I will still never wear it again!
Hersye and Donna- Thanks for your input. I am sure she is, as I would be, but I'd like to think I'd suck it up and just apologize. She was caught red handed, you know?
So, last night I joined the gym and did an advanced step class with people at least 10 years younger than me! I did not do to bad! I kept up, stamina wise, but some of the combos I just couldn't get. I have fallen off the "exercise wagon" and need to get back on track!

If she doesn't apologize, which she should, do you still think you'd want her as MOH? It's one thing to not like the dress, but she should have been honest about it with you from the start. I've worn many a garish bridesmaid gown in my day and I've always told the bride, if she asked what I thought, that I didn't care for it, but it was her wedding and if that is what she wanted, then it was fine by me. I would never make faces about it and then basically "dis" her behind her back?

I don't know the lady and she may be wonderful in a 100 different ways, but something is sounding an alarm in my head. It makes me wonder what else she isn't going to like about YOUR wedding and how snarky is she going to be about that? I don't think I'd want the underlying tension on my wedding day.

Tiggern, congratulations on your upcoming Beach Club stay!! I would love to stay there, but I didn't get the cool post card! I got one for Christmas dates, but didn't want to go this Christmas. So, I'll probably get left out of this mailing! Oh well, Pop Century, Here I Come!! Got a trip booked June 11 to the 15th.

Hey Sam, Can I send DS with you? He's bummed because we will not be there during Star Wars Weekends. Postcard does not cover any dates from May - mid August. He's small and wouldn't take up much space in your suitcase.
Morning everyone.
Paint, I did think about it overnight. Told DH yesterday when he came home. I didn't put his name on the ressie because I figured he wouldn't want to go. He always laughs at me. But when I put it to him that if he didn't want to go, I was going to invite someone else to share my space, he said, "Oh, I want to go on vacation". He just wants to do other stuff,too. So I said stay in the room, ride horses, take out a bicycle, go to the racetrack, you don't have to go to the parks. Keep the kids with you and I will go to the parks by myself!!
So now I guess DH will be joining us anyway. The kids will love that pool. He can stay with them at the pool one morning and I will do the Keys to the Kingdom tour. I have always wanted to do that.
Have PTO stuff to do today and need to mop floors, so better get a move on.

Paint ~ Sorry to hear about the problems. I hope that she calls to make things right. I did not find out until after my wedding that two of them hated the dress, and it hurt my feelings pretty bad.
What health club did you join? We are going to sign up at Cardinal Fitness tonight.

Rose ~ for your DD We had the yucky cold like virus go through here, and everyone was miserable for a few days. I got hardest hit, running over 103 fever and just wiped out for 5 days.

gee, i would have been speechless to hear that type of comment. it is a good thing you let them know you heard it.

honesty is more important to me than most things.
saying that, i probably would not be willing to share the wedding day with anyone that was not excited about my future.
i would replace her.

if they were sorry, you would have had a call or some type of contact from them by now. yes, they could be embarrassed but the longer the issue remains w/ out addressing it, the harder it will be to discuss it later.

i probably stand alone on this one but i could not put others in my wedding party knowing they snicker and talk behind my back instead of being up front with me from the start. i would want support, not high school behavior

I will do the Keys to the Kingdom tour. I have always wanted to do that.

i have done that tour three times in the past five visits.
i really did enjoy it a lot.
you can get a discount of 20% with your disney visa card or a 15% discount with your aaa card for the tour fee.

Tiggerrn, I will be visiting Hollywood Studios on Wed. June 11th and will stay "in a galaxy far far away" over the weekend. I like Star Wars, but when full grown adults feel its necessary to walk around in heavy costume garb when it is near 100 degrees outside, that's when I get a little freaked out. I would imagine it would not be pleasant on the nose!! I hope they pack extra Right Guard!!

I could bring him with and just drop him off outside the Studio's gates on Saturday morning. I will be heading back to the MK though myself.

Your hubby sounds a lot more "willing" than mine when it comes to Disney parks. Don't forget there's also bass fishing trips from the Contemporary if you husband likes to fish. They leave pretty early in the morning.

My DH doesn't mind the cruise thing, but the parks...
