Hey Mac - thanks for the listings!!! :goodvibes :happytv:

I'm doing the annual Chicago winter weekend outing in a couple weeks -- anything new for kids (mine are 4 and 5) that are must-see's ?? Thanks in advance.

Hi all!!! :wave2:

Ok, this is my second attempt at posting. My first post vanished!!! :headache:

Sorry to have not been around much lately. I know some of you have wondered where I've been.

I've been really busy with stuff in the house and with the kids.

Things have been crazy for us lately.

And on top of every thing else my mom was in the hospital a week ago for an infection she got in her finger. They kept her there for almost a week.

Both Hunter and I are sick right now.
Lauren's been busy with Girl Scouts and her school clubs and got all A's on her report card last week.

And we started decorating for Christmas this weekend. Not done yet though. Hopefully everything will be decorated in the next couple days.

slo I have been wanting to call you too. But every time I think about it I'm in the middle of something. Which is not actually a very good excuse, so I promise I will call you soon!! :goodvibes
I bet the girl's pictures come out great!! I can't wait to see them!!
Those Wii's are way too expensive!! My kids will have to do with their Gamecube for now!

Hersey Glad to hear that Thanksgiving dinner at your aunt's went well. Did you take Alex with you shopping??

Sam It was great running into you and the family at the Promenade this weekend!!! I could not believe you were walking right in front of us!! :rotfl2:
I still cannot believe what an aweful speaker connection they had for the Christmas light show!!! Rata tat tat!!! :rotfl:
Sorry we had to scoot, but Hunter was litterally falling asleep in my lap while watching the Christmas lights blink!! :) Poor kid was beat!
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that Dan keeps an open mind to joining DVC as I know how much you'd like to join!!! :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

Geffric Congrats to your son on becoming an Eagle Scout!!! YAY!! :yay: :cheer2:

Tiggerrn Sorry again, that I didn't read your PM sooner! Thanks for thinking about me!! :goodvibes

Well, I have to fun for now!!

I'll check back in soon!! :hippie:

bunchkin, i was just about ready to post to find out where you were.

sorry you have been sick and your mom in the hospital. i totally understand.
family always comes first.
hope everyone is on the mend.

geffric, don't know if i posted this or not. better i repeat than not mention it.
congrats to your son on eagle scout.
that is a great accomplishment!

only 4 more work days this week now
my, how time flies......:rolleyes1

Good evening all. Sorry I've been MIA for a bit.
NUTCRACKER IS OVER!!!!!!!:cool1:  :woohoo: :rolleyes1
OK so Kellie enjoyed it, but I am glad to be getting back to the regularly crazy life instead of the insanely crazy one.
Slo, can't wait to see a pic of the girls. Sounds like you had a great day.
Bunchkin, glad to hear from you. Kyle is still begging for a play date. Perhaps the weekend of the 8th? He is dying to play Star Wars Legos again. I will give you a call once things settle down here and I catch up with all the housework I have been slacking off on.
I did get up some decorations inside. Boxes all over downstairs. Nothing outside yet.
Have picked up several gifts. I confess to buying the Wii. Slo if you still want that, Target in St. John gets them in Sat. nights. Go for 8am opening Sunday morning, and you'll get one no problem without being stuck with a bundle of games you don't want. The price for the gaming system was $249. This is our first game system ever. I have managed to keep the kids game free (not including the computer of course. ) for all this time. Finally, gave in because DH wanted the Wii.:lmao:
Well, I had better get off to bed. Long day today.
Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving weekend. Sounds like many of you had a great time.

Mac - :wave2:

Jim - Have fun at your winter weekend. You'll need to tell us about it after you do it :)

Bunchkin - So good to see you, I missed you!!!!!
*I'm sorry to hear about your mom :guilty: How is she now?
*I'm also sorry to hear about you and Hunter being sick :guilty: I'll send mountains of PD your way to help you feel better soon :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: (make sure you give some of that to you mom too :))
*A huge congratulations to Lauren for her straight A's - that's awesome!!! :cheer2: How is her teacher this year? I hope he/she's better than last years teacher.
*I understand about thinking about calling at inconvient times - I do that too ::yes:: We'll catch up soon :)

Tigggggggggern - That's good that The Nutcracker is over so you can rest :) It's good that Kellie loved it, but I can only imagine how exhausting that must have been for you :faint:
*Thanks for telling me about the Wii, and congrats on getting one. We've definitly decided against it, not only because of the cost, but also because Stephanie didn't ask Santa for it. When we were on our way to the mall, I asked her what she's asking Santa for, and that was not one of the items :sad2: Then when she sat on his lap, she never brought it up:sad2: She desperatly wants the new AG doll Julie, and Julies lockers, so that's what she's getting :thumbsup2

That's about it from me today
Have a good day everyone!!!

How is everyone today???

Did any of you watch Dancing With the Stars this season?
We are so excited about Helio winning :cheer2: He really deserved to win!!! :goodvibes

Have a good day everyone!!

Did any of you watch Dancing With the Stars this season? We are so excited about Helio winning.

CarolAnnC is a regular watcher of it, so I've sat through every episode. ;) I watch it out the corner of my eye while playing games on the laptop computer. :lmao:

Anyway, she's in California at the moment on business, but I turned it on and watched it to see who won. I would have been OK with Helio or Mel. Just as long as Marie didn't win. She was far from the best dancer, so a win for her would have proven that talent has nothing to do with it.

Whether or not Helio is a better dancer than Mel, I'm not sure. But, I believe the public, not being dance experts, don't truly care if a dancer misses a step or not. Helio was very entertaining and always looked like he was having a blast. That makes his an extremely likeable character and makes people want to see him win. I was glad for him. :)

As far as DWTS, I feel kinda bad that I cheered when Marie was knocked out of it.

OK, I need to go get the kids lunches, we did not send them with this morning.

I never got around to watching DWTS.

Yesterday I went to the mall with DS-4 and ended up going to see Enchanted with him. That was fun. It was his first movie & I had no idea how he would do. When we went to the mall, the movie wasn't on our agenda but I really wanted to see it. I had to go get my ring DH bought me in May inspected for the extended warrenty. Good thing, the stones were loose, so they took my ring away. :( That's OK though, I'd rather not lose any stones.

I figured at noon on a Tuesday was a good chance it wouldn't be TOO crowded (considering the mall was not real busy). He did really good considering it's not really a movie geared toward 4 year olds! Of course, it could have been the M&M's I bought to bribe him with too. :lmao: popcorn:: (OK...this is for a movie & eating but I didn't want to buy popcorn as I know that wouldn't work as well as M&M's for him. Besides we had just had McDonald's before that!). There were maybe 10 of us there. I've never done that before with going to the movies on an odd time/day like this.

Now DD is not too thrilled because she wants to see that movie so badly. I'll take her to see it another time. She's home from school sick today with a fever that started last night, since she has to be fever-free 24 hours before she goes back, there will be at least 1 day in here where she's fine but can't go to school. She's still running the fever though, so she will be out again tomorrow. I'm actually thinking it might be Friday in the middle of the day if that turns out to be her rest day (i.e. fever free for 24 hours before returning). I hope anyway.

I thought it was a cute movie. Although it was driving me crazy because I had thought I had seen the actress before or something in one of the scenes. Just one of those -- I've either seen this scene before or she looks SO familar -- how come I know this? This morning I figured it out and it was Daphne from the Scooby-Doo movie. It's not the same actress but the way they put her hair and the scene just reminded me of exactly that. Took me forever to figure it out though.

Here are a couple pictures from the Star Wars Exhibit -- not too many turned out too good. Here is one with all 4 kids but it's kind of dark.

Here's a picture of the picture they take in front of the Green screen when you walk in. They superimpose the rest of the stuff.

good wednesday afternoon chicagoland homies.

after today, only 2 more work days to the weekend......:yay: :yay: :yay:

last night was the first time i watched dwts. well, i watched it unto law and order came on.

i thought marie was nice.......

Oh Mac, I thought Marie was nice, and I like her too. I just felt that she was not the best dancer by far. I just dislike the whole "America's vote" thing here but even more so on AI where it gets out of hand.

i hear ya piglet, many think she is nice.
her talent lies in her vocals though.

i thought she presented herself well, her humor took her a long way in the contest.

the only other older female was jane seymore in the contest. it was good to see someone older getting to the finales, female i'm talking about.
last night she made a joke about her age, and replied, yes, i'm in my 70's and laughed.

with her mental health issues, her children issues and family, she held up very well to the end.

i knew she wouldn't win but i thought she really enjoyed herself in it.

Ok I'm a sap I cried during last night's Dancing with the Stars when Celine the titanic song and the professional dancers were dancing it was so beautiful

Crissup Did Carol get the job she was waiting? Tell her :thumbsup2 :cool1: for me.

This week seems to be going fast I hope it continues.

Off to collect the garbage tomorrow is pickup.

I'm sick. :guilty:  All of a sudden on Sunday I could feel my throat starting to get sore. Then it got worse and worse, and then I felt nauseous by night time. So I stayed home on Monday, and then I felt a little better on Tuesday so I went. I have a lot to do this week and felt like I at least needed to try, and I could bring home my laptop. So I stayed till 2pm until the trains were express, and then I came home. I didn't go today. Now I don't know what to do about tomorrow. I think I can actually get a lot done here at home (The stuff I was doing today was running really slowly, so it took forever.), so I wouldn't feel quite so bad about staying home. I have this cough that's making my throat hurt again, and going out just takes a lot out of me and makes me feel bad again. It's basically just a cold, so I feel stupid staying home. I don't know. I have to decide tomorrow morning. I want to stay home another day. I just don't want my boss to be mad.

:surfweb:

How are you doing with your holiday shopping?
I'm kicking butt and taking names :teeth: I'm almost done with everyone :thumbsup2 I'm waiting, and hoping, that American Girl Store will have free shipping again so I can order Stephanie's presents, but if I don't get that within a week or so, than I'm just going to order everything.

Crissup - I totally agree with your DWtS post ::yes:: Mel was awesome, and also very deserving to win!!! They both were amazing!!!!

piglet - Don't feel bad about being happy that Marie was kicked out, because I was too ::yes:: It's not because I don't like her, I love her, and I started watching the show because of her. But she was not the best, and for her to win, would not have been fair:sad2: , especially that awful free style dance:eek:

Becky - I'm sorry to hear that your DD isn't feeling well:sick: How is she today? I hope she feels better soon:wizard: :wizard:
*Thanks for sharing your Star Wars Exhibit photos with us:)

Mac - I agree with you about your Marie Osmond post ::yes:: I think she really enjoyed herself too, and I gotta say, I enjoyed seeing her brother alot while he was watching her - I've always been a huge Donny Osmond fan :goodvibes

HERSEY - Celion did a fantastic job on DWtS - her voice is just awesome!!!! :)

CarolAnn - Congratulations on getting your new job :cheer2: Your Chicago DIS family is so happy for you!!!!! :grouphug:

Leigh - I'm so sorry your not feeling well  I'll send lot of PD your way to feel better soon :wizard: :wizard:

Time to run, and get some vaccuuming done before I go to work.
Have a good day
