Eric got grounded yesterday.. He got out of school early ( so did Geoff but he came right home after XCountry running and did homework) and went to Brothers Ribs with his friends. he called and told me and I told him to be home before dark.. ( 6:30 pm) After the ribs they came to our house and played Twister, and football and then just hung outside and talked. I am okay with all of that.. but then it was 10 to 7 pm and we had to leave for School for the college fair and he is now where in site.. not in his room, not outside, not down the block.. no where.. so i called his cell phone - no answer, called his friend Tyler's phone and he comes on the line and he is at one of his friends house.. HUH?? Left, didn't say he was going anywhere, didn't ASK.. just left at 6:20 pm.. even though he was told to be home by 6:30... so he said he would leave right away and get home. I called him 5 minutes later and he told me that they were going to a pizza place and then he would be home.. I DON"T THINK SO!!! We had a long talk about curfews and letting people know where you are and turning on his phone so I don't have to keep calling Tyler..So he is grounded for a month.. GRRRRRR

Hearing stories like this make me very nervous about the teenage years Hopefully he'll learn the errors of his ways, and "straighten up and fly right" (that's a quote from my dad - he always said this to me)

I'm not sure what time they open. I'm not a morning person, so it's usually afternoon by the time I make my way up there. Of course, you can find out on the cruise board.

I have some Navigators from Sept. 07, and they say it opens at 7am - that's perfect for me!!!

slo I will give Lauren hugs from you when she gets home later!
Tell Stephanie not to be sad for Lauren as she is going fine!! And let her know it's very nice of her to be concerned for her like that and that she has a big heart.

I will definitly relay that message to Stephanie when she gets home from school She likes Lauren so much - I wish we lived closer together so they could see each other more often.

I will answer since I am excited right now, lol! I have an interview Monday that I am looking forward to. Sounds like a good position and I have passed through a phone interview and online testing thus far! So crossing fingers for this one...thanks so much for asking!

I'm not sure how much we will sit at The Cove Cafe, but I can guarantee I will get coffee from there every morning

slo -- I'll take ALL the I can get with my sewing. I'm really not that talented. I muddle through but at least for these it's Halloween costumes, no one is going to care if things aren't great. Although with DD, we are using a Simplicity pattern and she keeps bringing me the entry form for a Halloween costume contest. I read the rules, if you get picked you have to send in the actual garment and they inspect it. I think they do that so they know you actually sewed it yourself or something but I tend to ummm...cheat and skip directions since it's a wear 1 time outfit, it doesn't need fantastic construction or anything (I have issues with facing stuff, never works right for me, so I skip it and so far hasn't been an issue). On the family board there is a Custom Boutique thread that started and they make absolutely gorgeous outfits (tends to be for things to wear at the parks!!! I thought I was doing good matching T-shirts to the parks, that's NOTHING after seeing what some come up with). I will post pictures though once the costumes get made. I'm buying the little guys ones, if I can get to the store before they sell out.

In my eyes - if you can sew, your talented!!!

Hi! I haven't been here for soooooo long, but just got back from Disney SOLO MOM vacation (10 days) and caught up on everyone else's vacations, lives, and PRETTY NEW BABIES! wow. I've missed so much. What quacked me up the most though was that MACRAVEN AND I WERE ON THE SAME FLIGHT HOME! baaaaahahahhaha. Wish I'd known so I had someone to yack with for all those hours of waiting. Should have been paying more attention to the Chicago thread you know. Anyway, looking forward to MacRaven's trip report ~ will compare notes ~ our paths probably crossed more than 1 x. I was in 13F. What were you wearing? I had on black capris, tennies, paisley top with a pink hoodie. I sat in front of a mentally deranged woman (seriously). So glad they decided to give us the Robin Williams movie just to get me through. Ten days almost burned me out on human odors, manners, etc. Never will burn out on Disney tho.

Still here. I think I did drown in those books!!! Tomorrow is wrap-up day. Fill the teachers book orders and pack it up.
I also have my neonatal resuscition test to recertify to take tomorrow afternoon (which I haven't studied for at all). I may get sent back with the newbies to have to take the all day class if I don't pass it.
Glad to hear Lauren is doing OK. When I started to read the posts tonight, I was a little worried at first. Tell her we are glad she is OK

Amy and DMM, congrats on the babies. DMM try not to worry too much yet. DS failed that hearing test 3 times. Finally, they got a new machine. He passed. (Yet, I somehow feel that he definately has the hearing disease of all men - Selective Hearing Disease SHD for short. ) The babies are both adorable. Be sure both of you are getting plenty of rest, hydration and good nutrition.
Slo, only 9 days left. I'll let you pack me into your suitcase if you are still having problems deciding what to bring along.
Donna, glad to hear the good news about your SIL. Hope the treatments she needs are easy on her and that all goes well.

Bunchkin, I will be in your neighborhood on Monday (unless I can find some way to weasel out of it) to begin jury duty. I don't know for sure until tomorrow night if I actually have to report. Just hate the thought of it. 2 weeks of call, not needed, call, not needed, call. Will County really needs to come up with a better system.
Well, I had better get off of here. Need to study a bit for myself.

I didn't start the day out very well today
I woke up and found my coffee grounds, and coffee water all over the floor, thrown rug, and counter. Grounds and more grounds everywhere - what a mess, and I HATE cleaning up coffee grounds (especially super early in the morning) I hope this is not an indication of how the rest of the day is going to be

So, what is everyone doing this weekend?
I'm working tomorrow, having Katie's Halloween pictures taken on Sunday morning, and the rest of the time is dedicated to only laying out clothes for packing.

Hi all!!


I spent the morning at DS's school helping out with their Fall Festival. Lots of fun!!! The kids made the cutest little fall/Halloween crafts.

Then we went to McD's (grrr!!!) and met up with some other moms.


Just came back from getting DD her new Girl Scout books and vest.


And I'm off to make cupcakes in a bit.




slo So what happened with your coffee maker?
Lauren did pretty well yesterday. Her stiff neck bothered her a bit.
Today she went on a field trip so hopefully she has been doing ok.
I really want to see Katie's pics when you get them!! They're always so cute!!
Our weekend: Lauren has her sleepover with her classmates tomorrow night. So that pretty much sucks up all my time this weekend.

Tiggerrn If you do have jury duty you can always let me know and stop by. I'm about 10 minutes from the court house.
I think it's good they have the call in system unlike some places that make you actually go in to find out they don't need you for the day.
My suggestion: wait to call in an hour or so before the cut off time.

Hi Everybody - thanks for all the welcomes! wow I appreciate it!

Slo - My Mr. Coffee does that every now and then. I think it's when the door isn't closed completely on the thing that holds the coffee/filter. It's maddening.

Mac - I took some pics while waiting in the 'remodeling'. I thought if I develop lung disease any time soon - I'll have the pictures of the hanging asbestos! hahahhaha. It looked like that though didn't it? I didn't see you, but if I ever get organized again - I'll get my pictures downloaded and take a look to see if I captured you in any of them. So sorry you were hurt on Haunted Mansion! Can't wait to hear this story - must have been the moving escalator while boarding/deboarding.

**I think the problem with the coffee pot was the filter folded over when I shut the door, and then the grounds started coming out with the water. The hole on the top of the pot clogged with grounds and then everything went all over the counter and the floor - not a fun thing to wake up to this morning (I set the timer on the coffee pot for it to come on about 20 minutes before I get up)
**I will definitly show you Katie's pictures after they are taken. They should be cute in her bright yellow Belle dress (she's so proud of that dress )
**How's was Lauren's field trip? I hope her stiff neck didn't ruin things for her.
