Hi gang!! :wave2:

Went to the Planetarium today. We were the second family there!!! :goodvibes The Planetarium was open a 1/2 hour early for the people who signed up for the WTTW/PBS KIDS event that was there.
It worked out really great!!! The kids got to do so many activities and all the hands on stuff before all the crowds arrived! They got a free book and a bunch of goodies. Lots of fun!!

I took a bunch of pics that I will try to download tomorrow maybe.
Trying to decompress from the day right now!
I love going to the city for the day but it sure takes a lot out of me when I don't have DH along to help manage the kids. :)
The kids loved the trolley ride too!!

Lauren did great at her dentist appt yesterday. She ended up getting 3 of the 4 cavities filled, since they were all on the same side of her mouth.
And get this.......she's actually looking forward to going back next week for the 4th one!! Crazy kid, I think it was the nitrous oxide they gave her to calm her nerves!!! :rotfl:

slo Glad things are coming along for your web site! I can't wait to see it!
Do you think vandals/punks might be setting off your alarm since you are in a rather empty strip mall? :confused3

Donna Farmer's markets are such fun! Sounds like you got a bunch of great things today! :)
I'm sorry to hear that you have lost both your parents, no less both to cancer.

Kim Sorry to hear about your uncle.

Hersey Are you referring to my MIL? If so, she is going in soon for her full body scan. We are taking one day at a time till then.

mac

Tomorrow we are going to go see 'Night at the Museum' at Marcus Theatre for their Kid's Festival. It's only $2.50 and comes with popcorn!!! :thumbsup2

I had another slow day yesterday:guilty:
With the rain coming today, I'm sure today will be slow again:guilty:
Maybe I will take a movie to pass the time:rolleyes:

Mac - :wave2:

Donna - Thanks!!!
The security company put in a different motion sensor (a more upscale one, according to them.) It didn't go off last night, so that's good :thumbsup2

Bunchkin - I'm glad you and the kids had a nice time at The Planetarium:goodvibes I've never been there - I need to go sometime in my lifetime.
**That's great about Lauren doing well with getting her cavities filled - what a brave girl!!!! :)
**Thanks about the website. I'm looking forward to you all seeing it too:goodvibes
**I never thought about kids doing that :scratchin . I could see them doing that with the window break alarms (like if they banged on the windows). Those are off now, and according to the security guy, the motion sensor doesn't pick up anything outside:guilty: Who knows - it's a mystery!!!

Well, it's time for me to jump into the shower
Have a great day today everyone!!

Morning all. Sandy, sorry to hear you are still slow. I will be in your area today. If I have time after their appnt., I will stop in. I plan to bring my picture frame with me that needs a mat for a photo to fit. I have a softball game at 6:30, so I need to be home by 6. Kids appnt is at 3:45, so it will depend what time we finish. I think you said your store closes at 5. So maybe I will see you later.
Bunchkin, glad to hear you enjoyed the planitarium. I don't think I've been there since a 4th grade field trip. Wish we could've met you there. Camp morning you know. Hope you enjoy the movie. I plan to take the kids next week to see the Last Mimzy. We have a Marcus near me, so that is a nice morning.
Kim, sorry to hear about your uncle. I know you said you didn't know him, but he is still family.
My BIL just had a tumor removed from his kidney. The docs said, from the looks of it, he thinks it is malignant, but they sent it to pathology to be sure. They think it was all contained in the kidney, so they removed the whole kidney in hopes of preventing any further need for treatment. He will need frequent scans and bloodwork to be sure. I am sure my sister is beside herself. Her husband is the type that really tends to play up any illness, so now with this serious problem, she will never get to come see her family members. He is sort of a control freak and only lets her do what he wants to do.:sad2: Time will tell, I guess.
Hi Donna. Looks like another great day in the works. (For a while anyways.) I thought the weatherman said rain later. DS is already checking out the clouds and wind. And worrying.:rotfl2:
Hi Hersey. I, too, hope this will put an end to all our strep throat seasons.
Anyone familiar with toads? DS toad isn't eating anything these past few days. Been putting in crickets, and nothing. I don't know what to do with a sick toad.:confused3
Well, better run. Kids are going to the library today to "paint the parking lot". And I have :laundy: to do again, of course.
Have a good day all.

tiggern, there is a place in grayslake called Best Friends.
it is staffed by wild life specialist and vets. (animal hospital)

a robin crashed into my front door last week and it was bleeding.
her nest is on our rain gutter.

i called the police and they told me to call this group and gave me the number. just yesterday, i cleaned the counters in my kitchen and tossed the number. i'll try to google it for you.

you can call them and they will tell you what to do for the toad.
if you take any animal, bird, etc in to them, they don't charge you but will accept a good will donation.

the reason i called the police in town is they call the animal warden when you have an issue with animals. the police said that our A.W. does not handle wildlife.

Just a drive-by...
Thanks, everyone, for the well wishes on the closing. Everything went well!

/
Macraven...looking at your tag reminded me ....there are rumors out there that they will be doing away with the Mickey Head Paint Samples at HD.

Any Chicago area DIS-ers want tix to the Police at Wrigley 7/5? I have a pair I need to get rid of. PM me!

Hi all!!! :wave2:

Didn't get to my pictures today like I wanted to. I'll have to see if tomorrow allots some time for downloading as there are few I want to share with you all.
:teeth:

'Night at the Museum' was awesome!!!!
When Owen Wilson's character first appeared in the movie both Lauren and I yelled "Dupree!!!", as we had just watched a small part of 'You, Me & Dupree" the other day. Actually she caught me watching it...there's no way I'd let her watch that whole movie!!!!!!

slo Sorry to hear you are slow. It takes time so keep your chin up!! :goodvibes We can come next week with my pic. Will Steph be at the store this coming Monday?

Tiggerrn Hope the kids appt went well!!! :goodvibes
We are planning on seeing 'The Last Mimzy" next Thursday too!! :)

paint Glad to hear the closing went well!!! Good luck with the move!!

Gotta run!!!
I hear a tall glass of ice tea calling me from downstairs!!!! :goodvibes

Thanks ALL, for the uncle loss. My Mom didn't tell me/hasn't even told me yet tho. Hence the lack of emotion. :confused3
Any Chicago area DIS-ers want tix to the Police at Wrigley 7/5? I have a pair I need to get rid of. PM me!
FAB OFFER, THANKS!!! DD has a game that night tho. :rolleyes1 WELCOME!!!!!

Today Stephanie is going to Brookfield Zoo with the daycare. I'm really praying that it doesn't rain on her, and especially that she does okay with the cicadas (sp?). I'm feeling how SamIAm did last week when Megan went there. So, I guess this story is a to be continued.........

Tigggerrnnnnnn - Whenever you get a chance, I would love to see you :) I'm actually open until 7pm (M-F), but after Ally (my employee) gets trained, I'm hoping to go home many evenings at 5pm.
**I"m sorry to hear about your BIL, and I hope he's okay. Hopefully this will humble him a little bit, and teach him he can't always be in control.

mac - :wave2:

paint - I'm glad everything went well with the closing!! :woohoo:

Debbie - I haven't heard that rumor. If you hear that it's for sure, please let us know so we can stock up :teeth:

Mr.Shiney - Thanks for stopping by with the offer :)

Bunchkin - Thanks!! :) I know I have to keep my chin up, and I'm trying my best. I'm hoping that after we are in all these parades (2 this weekend) that those coupons will spark some interest.
**Stephanie will be at the store on Monday ::yes::
**We really love Night at the Museum too :thumbsup2 Stephanie's favorite part is when the little cowboy and little Roman are driving in the little RC Hummer towards the end. She has almost the exact same RC Hummer here at home, so she finds that part really cool.

Kim - :wave2:

Well, I gotta run and get ready for my day.
Stephanie has to be at school especially early today for her field trip.

Have a good day today everyone!!

MrShiny -- Welcome!

Slo -- I'm with you for the rain! DD is supposed to perform in our town's Kid's Day events today. I can't imagine any of the groups are going to be able to perform if it's raining! There will be dancers, gymnasts & cheerleaders. So, I'm hoping it will hold off. I know I didn't want it sweltering, since that is what it seems to be every year but I didn't want it to rain either.

It's going to be a long day for us. At least no summer school today but poor DD, she has gymnastics from 9 - 12 and then they are expecting the girls to be at the stage at 1:30. I'm kind of glad the girl we carpool with her mom is pulling her at 11:30 since she's a dancer also so has to be there before the gymnasts. I told her it was fine to pull DD too.

DS-7 has basketball class that I'm going to have to pull him early from too so that we can make sure we get there on time.

Hmmm....maybe the good thing with the overcast weather is it won't be shoulder to shoulder people and we can find some parking without having to walk a long way. ;)

good morning chicagoland homies.

i think we should have a meet at slo's new shop.
that would perk up her business!

i'll bring the kool aide........

nicole, tonight at 7:00 on MTV, bon jovi will do the unplugged episode.
they plan to do the older songs along with some from their new album.

hope you get to watch it.

wishing all of you a great friday and wonderful weekend

Just a quick fly by to sy HI.. end of qtr is always super busy...

Hope everyone is okay.. PD for all in need!!

Good morning all!!

I can't believe it's Friday, the week has flown by!!

I've been gone so much this week that the house has gone to pot!!
So it's laundry and cleaning for me today!! Waaahoo!! :rotfl:

slo I hope Stephanie has a great time at the zoo. A lot of the cicadas are dying off already so maybe it won't be that bad!! :)
The RC Hummer part of the movie was soooo funny!!! :rotfl:
Lauren wants to go buy the dvd now!!

mac I was really busy last night so I missed Bon Jovi. But that program is airing several more times on MTV, VH1, and on CMT. So I'm sure I'll catch it eventually! ;)

geffric :wave2:

Have a great day everyone and enjoy the slightly cooler weather. It's really going to heat up soon!!!

Boy oh boy, it's going to be a long day
I'm not feeling well at all:sad2:
I woke up with a headache and nautious (sp?), and I was hoping it would go away. I took the girls to school and then came back home to lay down for 45 minutes - I don't think it helped. So now I'm at work sitting in my dark office checking my emails. I'm sure hoping this passes, because I wanted to take the girls to the Freedom Fest in our town so they could ride some rides and see some friends (other kids on the FD). When I told Stephanie it may not happen the look on ther face was absolute disappointment:guilty: I haven't been able to spend much time with them lately, and we were really looking forward to this night. So we'll see what happens

Becky - Good luck to your DD today :wizard: I'm sure her performance will be great!!! :thumbsup2

mac - A meet here would be so much fun!!!!

geffric - Good luck with your end of quarter :wizard:

Bunchkin - I hope you are right about the cicadas, because Stephanie flips out over all bugs :scared1: except lightning bugs, worms, and boxelder bugs.

Well, that's about it from me for now.
I'm going to sit here in the dark and close my eyes.

Later gaters!!

Quick fly-by to say happy weekend to all!!! Pixie dust spread to all who need it!!!:)
