Oh Debbie, I'm sorry, your post made me bust a gut! That is how I feel almost everyday as well! Yep! I don't want to bore anyone, take their time, etc. And yet, I read, read, read to keep up. Maybe we've just got that seasonal thing?? It should go away with warmer temps and SUNSHINE, right??

So, just so you ALL know here, Debbie & I ARE reading and keeping track and, we care about you ALL but, we're afraid of being boring. Right Debbie?


As for whining, I can do that BIG TIME, ANY DAY! But, I know I shouldn't. I have to keep reminding myself how MUCH I have to be thankful for, the fact that I'm HERE to be thankful, that things could be so much worse, and ARE for soooo many, many other people. UGH. I'm stopping here. No pity parties allowed.

We do have a very good shot at winning the Olympic bid for 2016!
McDonald's is a HUGE corporate sponsor for the olympics for many yrs. And since McDonald's corporate is here in Oakbrook, IL., I can't see how we can lose financially to any of the international cities in the running (except maybe Rome). I would think corporate sponsors, ie. McDonald's
would get us through. And other big corporate sponsors in Illinois,esp. Chicagoland area ie. United Airlines(corporate offices are here in Elk Grove Village),Motorola, etc. Maybe a couple of Chicago hospitals would donate money,the museums, our Chicago sports teams, who knows? I'm sure Mayor Daley will get enough corporate sponsorship to get enough financial backing
Oh, according to what I watched of the Olympic bid press conference yest, Ueberoth (sp) stated that Chicago has an excellent chance in winning internationally for 2016
We will defintely know in the Fall of 2009 when the final decision is made for the 2016 games.

I hope Chicago gets the Olympics. I was telling DD about it & it was so funny because she did a eyes get big & CAN WE GO? -- Umm..dear you will be 22 when that happens IF we get it -- you can go if you want at that age, I don't think you'll need my permission.

I survived the cheerleading meet. I'm so tired though as I just said I would be a floater -- next thing I knew I was doing admissions/candy-grams in the beginning even though I was told they had plenty of coverage for that but the poor gal that was there to start with needed help. I was basically on my feet the entire time.

THEN...I get pulled from that to go in the practice gym to help line the teams up for when they need to be ready to go since the practice gym is pretty far away from where the performance gym was. Of course, the first radio they gave me, didn't work with the other radio -- they could hear me but I couldn't hear them. OOPS!!! The other mom was sayin "I said OK 3 times" -- but then we tested it & found out the problem. See...it wasn't just me.

Our team came in 3rd place out of 3. DD was NOT happy at all but at least it's over with for the season.

I got to meet poohlovermom though -- YEAH!!!!! That was nice.

This is my first Monday not having to work
I have a ton of stuff to do today - so no rest for me


Yesterday was a beautiful day around here
We were outside all day
It always amazes me how gross our yard is when spring arrives.
I spent the entire afternoon picking up branches that our oriental weeping willow tree dropped throughout the winter - what a pain!!! I hate that tree!!! I would love to get rid of it, but the previous owner of this house said he planted it to soak up the water in that corner of the yard - so I think we need to keep it, unless we want standing water




HERSEY - I've been trying to eat healthier too . My main goal is to eat fruit everyday - even a couple of times a day if possible.

Rose - Meeting up for lunch would have been nice, but it was a total last minute decision. I would have prefered just driving straight home, but the girls were complaining that they were hungry, so Kevin and I decided to go stop in the Woodfield area for lunch.
**You should try eating at Hooters sometime - they have great food (yummy) They are very family friendly, with a great childrens menu We've been eating there for many many years.
**You probably thought we picked the car up in Indy because I mentioned that the car was a 1994 Indianapolis 500 Pace Car Kevin found this car on ebay that was being sold from this used car place in Rockford.

Debbie - I'm going to use you as my official Olympic informer I'm not paying that much attention to it on the news when they talk about it - because I'm DISing and because it's to early in the morning for me to soak in all the news

mac - I did take the car out yesterday , but only through a neighboring subdivision. Kevin had the top down, and even though it was nice out yesterday I was still cold

MAC...We are going to Louisville, Kentucky. My husband was born there, so we travel down there often, as he still as family in the area. We never really spend much time actually doing anything in Louisville or Louisville related, as we are usually just there for a weekend, and it is spent visiting the family (think lots of eating!) This visit is for Mark's grandmother's appreciation of life party (she turned 90 this weekend, so it's not a birthday party, but an appreciation party!) Sometime I would love to go there and just not tell anyone we are in town and do the Louisville tourist thing! What part of KY do you like?

Hi, everyone! Just wanted to stop in to say hi

I'm sorry to have been absent from here - I've been busy with work and a sudden surge in my social life Every weekend, I have friends getting me out of the house so it's kinda nice to have something to do besides sit at home

Not much new with me, except a coupla things maybe..For one, I got a tattoo! I just got it this Friday night. It's on my back (shoulder blade) and it's the Chinese zodiac symbol for Dragon, since I was born in the year of the dragon..Also, I'm planning a big trip with a friend of mine in November to Spain and Morocco Other than that, nothing is new on the Toby front. We don't talk much anymore. It's not looking good. But I'm starting to feel at peace with that and I'd rather feel at peace than under constant stress. I no longer feel like it's the end of the world

I didn't have a chance to read back - I hope everyone is well!! I do think about you all a lot

Hi Chicago pals!!!

I just got done reading back a few pages or so to catch up with y'all!


We got home at about 1am this morning!!1
Our plane was delayed yesterday for 2 hours in Santa Anna, CA!!
First the place was delayed coming into the airport by a 1/2 hour, and then once on the plane and taxied out there was some generator issue that needed to be taken care of by maintenance, and then more gas was needed because they added a 3rd generator!!!

Needless to say we all slept really late this morning.

And now I can't do laundry or take a shower because they are flushing the fire hydrants in our subdivision and all the water is now rusty!!!!!

Geez-a-loooooo!!!!



As for our trip.............

Vegas was nice, nice and hot that is!
We had fun visiting the in-laws and took the kids sightseeing to several places, including Red Rock Canyon where they became Jr. Park Rangers.
Also did some swimming.
Hunter was dealing with a bit of a stomach bug while we were there. Poor kid!

We arrived in California on Tuesday the 10th. Stopped at my sister-in-laws to visit, where the kids got to ride her horses and DONKEY!!!
Had dinner with them and the headed to Anaheim and checked into the Howard Johnson.
The next day we ended up getting a new room due to ANTS!!! And a possesed shower!!! And the air conditioner made the room smell moldy and of cat pee!!! YEAH!!! Crazy room!!!
This hotel needs a total renovation into the current decade!!!

Disneyland was................DISAPPOINTING!!!
Yes, you read that right!
And I'm not talking about doing the Disney World ride/crowd comparison thing either.
Disneyland is not taken care of as well as WDW.
Sooooo many things needed paint and repair or cleaning. Dirty, dirty, dirty!!!! There was a real lack of Cast Members there. No one directs people to form lines like at WDW. It's just a huge free for all at some attractions, lines forming in the middle of huge walk ways.
And don't get me started on the people who were visiting there either!!!!
You know how WDW covers up areas that are under construction so you can't see them??
Not at DL! While riding the monorail we saw all kinds of stuff we really didn't want or need to see.
And one day when they had cancelled the fireworks due to high winds, they directed some of us to walk BEHIND Mainstreet to get out of the park!!!! We totally did not want to see that area!! What a buzz kill!!

We enjoyed the rides, the attractions but I feel bad that "Walt's Park" is in such disarray!!

I don't seriously think we will ever go back there again.

No, it's black..

I've always wanted one. At least for a few years now. But I never had the courage.. That's why I was so upset when Toby got his - because I wanted one and he never showed interest in one! Friday night my friends and I went out and one friend wanted to go to the tattoo place to get a quote on hers, to have it fixed up, so I thought, Ok - this is it!

Sorry to hear about DL I have never been there, so wouldn't even know what to expect. You would think DL being in California, they would have enough money to upkeep the park. Sorry to hear about your water situation and the delayed flight. Glad you and your family got back ok.
