Hi! I hope everyone had a great Christmas! Mine was good. My parents came over and I made my traditional cheese souffle. :teeth: I was a little worried because I didn't know if I would have all the utinsels (sp?) that I needed. My mom brought some things that I didn't have, but it's so easy to forget something until you're in the middle of it. But I was only missing one thing, and it was easy to substitute, and the souffle was good. :goodvibes

I finally finished decorating my tree on Christmas, and I just finished wrapping my gifts last night. :rotfl: I still haven't seen two of my friends' families, so that's why there was no rush. I'm going down to Indy today for a few days, so that will be one of them. The other will come over when I get back. She hasn't seen my new place yet. I have to finish cleaning it up! :scared:

I'm off work till Jan. 2, but I have things I have to do for year end at home, so I've still been working. :sad2: Although I'm not really off on 12/31, so the time that I'm working is making up for it so that I don't have to go in. But I've reached my 8 hours already and I still have more to do!

I need to go finish getting ready for my trip. I'll see you guys later! :wave2:

good thursday morning chicagoland homies.

geffric: i am off work when the students are off. they go back january 7th i believe. might be off a day but no calendar in front of me...when there is no school i don't know the date .

leigh: great you have time off too. enjoy it

slo: enjoy today and the winter break for your kids. hope you get more sales before the end of the year.

i have to ketchup on a lot of forms and paper work over the next week. it will keep me busy

Good evening all and belated Merry Christmas Wishes to all !!!!!
I worked part of Christmas day - did get some time off to be with family and see kids open presents from Santa in the morning so that was good. Work was busy for a holiday. At least 4 new elves in the world!!:rotfl:
Hope you all had a great holiday.
To all of you going to see Star Wars - have a great time. I tried too late for tickets online - sold out now. We could take our chances and go, but really have no desire to do anything else at the museum if we weren't able to get the tickets, so didn't want to risk it.
Slo, had to laugh about your DS comment. I have been trying to figure out what to do on the kids' DS. Not quite sure what the fuss is.:confused3 I think their Pokemon games are a bit silly.
CarolAnnC hope you are mending well these days and up and about more.'
Well, off to spend some quality time with DH. We have so little of that these days.

:surfweb:

I'm eating Christmas cookies right now with my coffee :goodvibes
I do this everyday following Christmas, and than on January 1st, no more cookies:sad2: That's the time that I start eating really light to shed some of the weight I gained over the holidays, and I always gain weight  But the food during holiday time is always so good!!!! :goodvibes

Today is Kevin's birthday :bday:
He's only working a 1/2 day, and then we are going to go out to dinner:)
We aren't officially celebrating until New Years Eve, because that's when everybody is over. Which reminds me - I need to order his birthday cake today :)

geffric - My college employee is wonderful, and it really has been great not working every minute the store is open. I will be sad to see her go :guilty: The holiday was great for the store, but things are going to be very very slow for awhile now, which is not great. The last 2 days we basically had no one come into the store, but this is not surprising to me:sad2: I just pray for enough business the next couple of months to pay the bills.

Leigh - Enjoy your time in Indy :goodvibes

Mac - I definitly am enjoying Stephanie being home ::yes:: Not only is it nice to do the mad dash to get her out of the house ontime, but it's nice to spend extra time with her :goodvibes

Tigggggernnn - That's good that you were able to see the kids open their Santa gifts :santa: I'm sorry you had to be busy on Christmas, but at least that mad the time go by faster so you could get home.
**I still haven't opened my DS yet - I just haven't had time. Stephanie plays with hers all the time though - she can't put it down. I've never seen her play with something this much - EVER!!! In fact, she just woke up (it's 5:54am) and she's already playing with it:rolleyes: My mom sure got her money's worth with buying this item :thumbsup2

Well, I"m off to fold some laundry - I"m forever doing and folding laundry:laundy:
Have a good day today everyone!!

Good Thursday morning everyone? Who is ready for more snow? Not me - but it has started alreday and we probably have about an inch. UGH!

DS and I went to see Alvin and the Chipmunks yesterday. It was cute! :thumbsup2 The theater was packed!

Today I am going to tackle the movie/dvd/game system cabinet and try to make heads or tails about what has happened in there. Maybe try to sell some old games/movies on Craiglist or at Game Stop.

Be safe everyone!
Lori

if you want snow, come live by me near the wisconsin border.
it started snowing at 7 and hasn't stopped yet.

to kevin. hope your day is great!

slo: bake him a cake and save me a big slice of it..........

i still have to unpack my suitcase. i dread that, too much effort...

Happy birthday to Kevin.

We are definitely getting the snow...I'm really hoping DD's gymnastics calls and cancels but it's not looking promising. :( It's an open gym (but you signed up for it ahead of time) just for team members and it's to start at 1 pm.

I went out and shoveled just in case (yes, I know silly to shovel while it's still snowing) but I figured this way I have less to shovel later & it was easy as it wasn't so piled on.

I'm SO not looking forward to driving in this mess! The good news is we were supposed to have our Shriner's appointment today but they had re-scheduled that a long time ago, so at least I'm not attempting to drive into the city. Let's hope next Friday is NOT a repeat. DD has her appointment then and I'm pretty sure it's a "go" as I've already gotten calls to remind me. :)

We have one more Christmas to do tomorrow we call it our "big" Christmas just because it's the one with the most relatives, etc... A pretty crazy group. Hee Hee. I knew the snow was coming so went out yesterday and got some gifts since holiday stuff was on sale. Yeah! I still have to wrap them up though.

Hi HO snowy day here too..

Happy B'day to Kevin

We shoveled twice already.. but the snow keeps coming.. so it will be interesting to see what it ends up with..

working from home today and next week.. YEAH!!! no big plans..really depends on the kids and what they are doing...went to get our HEP A shots for the cruise. DH got HEP B too as he is on the diaster team at work..
Back to work for a bit

can't find a shoveling smiley.. but Geoff is at it again.. wonder how much we will get???

Meteorologists expect 3 to 6 inches of snow north and west of Chicago, with less expected south of the city and in northwest Indiana.

I'm glad the snowing has stopped. Shoveled the driveway salted and I'm pooped. I think I might allow someone to make me my dinner ;)

I hope everyone has a great evening minus the dis.

Evening all!!!
Nothing much but slop here. Snowed a while, rained a while, sleeted a while. Guess it couldn't make up its' mind.:rotfl2:
All of you out and about, drive safe and stay warm.
Slo, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your DH.
I've been in DD room cleaning out the clothes to make room for the new stuff. Now I need to put away the week's worth of laundry.
Slo, I too can wash dry and fold laundry daily. It's the putting away I find myself having trouble with.:lmao: Then, I finish for the week and find I have 3 baskets loaded high with clean clothes and nothing in the drawers.
OK Jerry says the snow advisory is cancelled.
I wasn't thrilled with driving out in the morning to go to work. So at least I don't have to worry about that now.
Well, better get myself busy and put away those clothes. :rolleyes1
Have a good evening all.

Had I'd known so many of you wanted to do the laundry I would have had you over to do mine. That's what I'm doing now.

Looking out the windows this morning doesn't look to bad just a little cold. Nothing like yesterday. I have lots to do today the usual cleaning taking down the tree paper work. Oh how I love the weekends so relaxing

Happy Saturday, Chicagoland. What a winter wonderland we had yesterday! It was quite pretty, but that's enough now, it can go away until next winter, okay?

Slo...happy birthday to Kevin. Did he enjoy his special day?

Hersey...you can come & do *my* laundry if you're looking for some! Do you have a *real* Christmas tree to take down?

Geoffric...are you getting excited about the cruise??

Everybody...have a wonderful weekend! :)

I'm not going into work today!!!!
I have no idea what I'm going to do with myself today :confused3
It feels so weird to not go into the store, and have no plans.
What to do, what to do :scratchin

momto1 - Thanks for the movie review :) Stephanie really wants to see that movie, and I was thinking of taking her sometime next week.

Mac - Thanks for Kevin's happy birthday wish :goodvibes

Becky - Thanks for Kevin's happy birthday wish :goodvibes
Have fun with your family Christmas today :santa:

geffric - Thanks for Kevin's happy birthday wish :goodvibes
That's great you can work from home next week!! :goodvibes

HERSEY - My neighbor took down her tree yesterday too, and I contemplated doing that today myself. But I think I will wait until next Sunday - the girls like having it up for New Years :)

Tiggerrrrnnnnnn - I need to clean in my girls rooms too, but I can't do that when they are home (unfortunately). They know I'll be pitching stuff, so they'd be watching me like a hawk

Well, Ms Katie is up, and I should get going
Have a good day today!!

Hi Donna :wave2:
We posted at the same time :)

Thanks for the happy birthday wish for Kevin:goodvibes

Kevin did enjoy his day, even though it was a very small celebration.
We celebrate his birthday with cake and gifts on New Years Eve when my parents and his parents come over.

He didn't work all day (he was home by noon), and him and Stephanie hung out at home. It was a nice relaxing day for both of them. Then last night we all went out to dinner to a new Italian restaurant by us - it was nice!!!:goodvibes

i haven't found that the dis is faster or more efficient since they did the change last night.

it still takes too long to post a message.
the worse thing that is happening to me now is i am not receiving the sub notices in my email box when there is a new post on this thread. or any thread

no snow now but pretty darn cold here. tomorrow is not going to be much better.

my tree stays up for a few more days.
heck, i just got it up on friday and then i wasn't even here until after christmas to enjoy it.

i think valentines day will be a great day to take my tree down.
it's okay homies, it's a fake tree.

going to church in the morning, will have your backs covered.

Good morning! Hope everyone had a good day yesterday.

Slo I forgot to ask did Katie like Santa's gifts how about Stephanie?

Alex was pleased with his haul. No complaints there.

I can't believe months of preparation a whoose it's all over.

What is everyone doing for New years? I am working NYE of course then we are staying in. I was going to have our usual chinese takeout but I just remembered Monday no takeout. Oh well on to plan 2 :confused3 I haven't thought of that part.

I never got very far yesterday just the laundry and a little cleaning. I never got to the tree. Maybe I'll wait till New Years day. Its fake so in theory I could wait till spring maybe summer than I might as well be the first for christmas :rotfl2: See what a little sleep and not much coffee does.
