Happy New Year everyone!!

I think I read it somewhere, but don't want to go searching back for the info. Who all is going to see the Hanna Montanna movie in Schererville? I am thinking about getting tickets, and thought I would see if there was going to be a group of us going at the same time or not.

yes, we got snow again up here.
shoveled last day of last year and shoveled first thing first day this year.

BUT.............it will warm up by next weekend and snow will go buh bye......

:surfweb:

I'm doing a quick post this morning.

I'm really loving Stephanie not being in school, because it's so nice to not have to rush in the morning. I've been sleeping in, and that's been awesome too. It's going to be a bummer when she has to go back on Monday.

We had a good day yesterday - we were very lazy!!!!
We sat around all day and watched tons of tv - it was great!!
We watched Evan Almighty, Brother Bear, and the Samantha Brown WDW special that I DVR'd. Yep - we did alot of TV watching - loved it!!!:goodvibes

HERSEY - thanks for the congrats :goodvibes

geffric - that's great:) I'll have to pass it along!! :thumbsup2

piglet - We are going to see the Hanna Montana thing in Schererville, but I don't remember what day off hand. My friend gave it to us as a Christmas gift :santa:

Mac - I hope it warms up, I hate this cold :cold:

That's it from me - I gotta go jump into the shower
Have a good day today!!

Not to much going on here
Today will be a 1/2 work day for me, which is nice
It will be hard to see life go back to normal next week with my college employee being home. It was so nice to spend this extra time with the girls :goodvibes

Have a good day!!

Slo ~ Enjoy your day!

I too look forward to the warm up, just not too sure about all the rain that is supposed to come with it.

Cool email is back :yay:

I hope everyone is staying warm. I'm glad we are having this cold snap now instead of next week when the kids have to stand at the bus stops.

Be back later.

Hello Everyone!

Happy New Year! Wow, so here we are in January! I had to postpone my March Disney trip to June, but that's okay. I could not find any decent airfare and March was too soon after Christmas in order to save any decent amount of money! So, we will be heading down on June 4th to spend some time at my parents and then we'll be off to Disney on the 11th to the 15th. I'm actually looking forward to it more now because I won't have to do it so cheaply and will be able to make some ADRs and we can celebrate Megan's 8th birthday a few days early (I hope that's not cheating??). I want/need some good ideas. At Disneyland a few years ago, I was able to go to a Birthday Party with her at the Plaza Restaurant (what a nice place that is!!) and she had a wonderful time, but I'm not sure what DisneyWorld (Magic Kingdom) does for birthday celebrations? Any ideas besides the birthday button?? I was thinking about a special meal somewhere, but I don't want the hassle of trying to get into the Castle... too much stress. She's not that into princesses anymore anyway!

I hope everyone is doing well, I wanted to post then go back and read. What trips do we all have planned this year?

Take care everyone!!

Sam!

Hey, did I tell y'all we got a new puppy? It's a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Cody (after the Suite Life kid). I have named him sooper pooper, but I guess that's what puppies do right. A good excuse to get some new carpet this year!!

Happy New Year everyone! I tried getting on yesterday but it was so dang slow I gave up!

Sam - I know what you mean about airfare. We have pretty much given up the idea of flying and will be driving instead. UGH! I am still holding out a shred of hope, though. Congrats on the puppy!

Becky - Did you get to see the Millenium Falcon? We were there on Sunday but didn't get to see it. We could get a ticket for 6:30 but weren't staying around the museum that long. We have a membership, too, and I agree on not having to stay from open to close each time. Sunday we did Star Wars, the trees, the National Geographic maps, the circus and some I Spye.

I have been doing a lot of dejunking while I have been off work. Today we need to take a donation to local women's shelter. Ds and I need to do something fun to, I just don't know what yet!

Looking forward to a much warmer but wet weekend!
Lori

Unfortunately, no -- we were *this* close to getting tickets but as we got toward the Millenium Falcon, they were just putting the sign up that they were out of tickets for the day. Oh well -- if I hadn't gotten that headache & had gone earlier we would have made it. It was not meant to be.

I do feel sorry for any new members now though because the exhibit is sold out through the rest of it's run. I know I was in the Member's lounge when someone was basically asking if the vouchers were no good & yep. That's basically what it boiled down to -- it is booked solid through the rest of the time.

Since this was our 2nd time through the exhibit we didn't stay as long as we did the 1st time through -- we skipped most of the interactive stuff except the hovercraft.

We did the Coal Mine (which was a trick because the Member Express entrance was blocked off, so I wasn't sure what to do. One employee said to just duck under the rope basically to get there, so we did! :lmao: ), trains, plane, some of the Maps, the heart (I really don't like that exhibit but the kids always drag us up there, I've just seen it so many times I find it boring), the trees -- waited around for it to snow before we left.

Only the boys & I did the Star Wars while DD & DH did whatever it is they did, I know they continued in the Map exhibit and somewhere else I think.

I did get a free calendar as I was leaving though, so that was nice. They were handing them out due to the 75th anniversary which will be the next thing. I know they are closing after the Star Wars is over for about a week to get ready & then the rest of January is free days for everyone.

I don't know if we will be going back or not before our membership expires (we have until April). We got it mostly for the CSI exhibit that was there & the Star Wars one. So, we got our money's worth. Our next membership will be at the zoo this summer (we usually do 1 membership thing at a time) as no matter how we slice that when our whole family goes to the zoo, it's cheaper to buy a membership even if we don't go a 2nd time. I know DS-7 will be taking a zoo field trip next school year & I plan on being a chaperone, so the membership will come in handy.

Yesterday I had a tooth pulled and that was fun. NOT. I had to make it a challenge for the dentist -- apparently the tooth had fused to the bone, at least part of it, so he was having to earn his pay for this extraction. He said it was like removing shards of glass the way the tooth was. I'm feeling OK today but was told to take the pain relievers through today whether I need them or not because they are an anti-inflammatory also.

I could use some good vibes for tomorrow, I take DD in to Shriner's to get her back checked to see how it's doing (scoliosis). She has been out of her brace, which she's enjoying as they want her out for 48 hours to see how her spine is holding. I'm *soooo* nervous for this appointment as I think it's going to be a critical one in how we proceed.

Oh....by the way, I'm getting my e-mail notifications again. :thumbsup2 I hope everyone else is too. Makes checking things much easier.

Sam Congrats on the new addition. Those dogs are pretty smart. How does Megan like him?
we are looking at Sept too. The airfare is pretty crazy I did find a fare on Jet blue but you have to fly into JFK then Orlando I'm not sure I am willing to do that to save money.:confused3

I have to go check on dinner.

just this minute received my first email notification.

back in business on the dis................

i had a difficult time posting the last few days.
would get an "error" or "timed out" statement.
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

glad we are back to normal now.

lori, i have driven to florida 3 times and will never do it again.
too long of a drive for me.
also, it takes away time from the parks by spending the extra days on the road.

:surfweb:

Not much sleep for us last night :sad2:
Poor Kevin did something to his foot, and he's in a lot of pain - he couldn't sleep.:sad2:
I went to bed with a slight headache, and I woke up 2 hours later like someone dropped a ton of bricks on me - it was weird - I couldn't sleep:sad2:
It looks like we are going to bed early tonight:rolleyes:

piglet - I did enjoy my 1/2 day of work. You want to know what I did in the afternoon - I slowly went grocery shopping - it was great!!! I normally due a mad dash through the store before work, and yesterday I took my time - I never thought I would love doing that, but I did :goodvibes

HERSEY - I couldn't agree about the cold snap and the bus stop, since I stand outside with Stephanie while she waits for the bus. :cold: They are talking about the temps being 52 Monday - that would be great!!!!! :sunny:

Sam - Congrats on the new puppy :dog: You need to post some pictures, I would love to see him :goodvibes My girls would love a puppy, and I actually wouldn't mind one either, but we are never home right now. Someday though, we'll have a dog again :)

momto1 - I would love to dejunk this house, especially the girls room. The only catch is, I have to do it alone, and I'm never alone when I"m home. I look forward to doing it someday :)

Becky - I'll say lots of prayers, and send lots of PD, for your DD to have a good and positive appointment at Shriners today :wizard: :wizard: Please, please, please let us know how what they say, and how your DD is doing.

Mac - I got my email notification too   H
How are your boys doing? Did you have them all home for the holiday?
I've been meaning to ask, and then I forget.

Well friends, I gotta go jump into the shower
Have a good day today!!

Happy Friday everyone!!

Okay, let me give the puppy picture a try!!

cody2.jpg

I'm not sure if you'll see this or a Red X because I can't seem to get it to post on another board.

Cody is a very smart puppy and is about 99% potty trained. We keep an eye on him to make sure he don't sneak off and do his business out of sight. But, he can "sit" already, and he knows what I mean when I say "downstairs" and "outside".

Megan loves him, but she's also clueless on what to do with him. I think she might be a wee bit jealous too because as a more experienced pet owner, Cody follows me around and seems to prefer my lap at this point. I told Megan its because she doesn't have much of a lap and I have an abundance of lap (which I'm working on!!).

Momto1

Airfare is horrible right now and will prove to just get worse I suppose now that oil has hit a level of $100 a barrel on the futures market. Ugggh! That news sure did slow me down. I think I really need to start saving as much money as I can sock away and although I would love to do MNSSHP this year, the June trip may be the only one! The price of gas puts a serious dent in our budget because Dan has to drive so much to and from work.

Me too finally getting email notification.. so i can say hi..

Lori - we have driven from many many years.. I don't think it is that bad.. we leave at 3 am and drive all day until we get to Gainesville FL ( bout 11 pm ET), then it is into WDW by 10 am..

Sam - I know what you mean about airfare. We have pretty much given up the idea of flying and will be driving instead. UGH! I am still holding out a shred of hope, though. Congrats on the puppy!

SAM - the puppy picture is so cute.. have fun with him..

I did look at airfare for our Auust cruise and found JetBlue into Long beach but DH wants to wait until SouthWest comes out with fares.. he thinks that it will be the same as Jet Blue and we won't get stranded in the jetway for 11 hours..

Today is last day of vacation so once Eric gets back from wrestling practice we are going to Carson's for Ribs for lunch...YUMMY!!!

So I guess I better keep working on the Eagle letters. they need to go out this week.. At Geoff's Eagle ceremony, we read some ofl the congrat letter from all sorts of people. Have a BIG book that holds all the letters of congrats. I have a government list since Geoff interested in intl realtions/ political science stuff.. I have been told that they take a long time to get back.. so.. I need to get these done and mailed.. or some of them done and mailed....

Be back later

Geffric, the best thing about Jet Blue vs. SWA is the service. Jet Blue is a little nicer and of course, you have the TV to watch! That's a long flight into Long Beach, probably close to four hours. Might be better to have a little diversion for four hours... unless you are one of those lucky ones that can sleep on planes!

Hi! Just wanted to say that I recently found this thread after being on here for quite a while!
From Highland.

Sam -- very cute puppy!

LMR1991 -- :welcome:

We are obviously back from DD's appointment. The good news is "her back looks the same as when she arrived". The bad news is one of her lesser curves has gotten worse. As of right now, we are just going to continue the bracing but if her curves increase any, it's going to be time to talk surgery. Our next appointment is in 6 monhts. So, we definitely need to make sure she's wearing her brace as much as possible -- the doctor said the longer the better. I know there have been occassions where I've let her slack off a little but we are going to have to be stricter now just from the way the doctor said "she has a really big curve" sounds like we are looking closer & closer toward surgery. Keep the prayers that doesn't have to happen.

Now that's over with & I had a tooth pulled on Tuesday, so all the medical junk is sort of behind us. I do have to go back on Tuesday to make sure everything is healing with my tooth since it was a tough one to get out. It was in really bad shape. I will be getting an implant tooth to replace it.

Next on the agenda is DS-10's birthday is next Saturday. I'm still trying to get in touch with 2 of his friends as I think we are going to hit Chuck E Chese for his birthday -- HELP ME NOW....   :scared1:
