Hey, I met a fellow Diser at the mall by my house yesterday. It was a lot of fun. It is always amazing to me when you talk with someone and then realize they live SO... close (Like KimRaye and I).
WHO is this DISer you met that's so close to us Debbie? I have someone in mind but, DO TELL!!! ;)

I never did the multiple copy and paste thing either. But the new multi-quote feature is really, really cool!! Just look for the button that looks like this...
multiquote_off.gif

Click on it for each post you want to respond to, then click quote on the last post and it will open a reply with each post quoted individually. It's really cool!! Now, I can do multiple replies on one post.
:rotfl: John! And yet you, nor I, tried it tonight!

:grouphug: to ALL!!!

Sam - Did you see the new Disney Precious Moments? They are very very cute!!! :goodvibes

Bunchkin - Thanks for thinking I will be successful with real estate :goodvibes I think I will do well with it also when I have more time to do it.

Jedi - What you said about it just being Lowe's makes alot of sense ::yes:: The next time I go to Borders, I'm going to ask if they do book returns.

Donna - You must be so proud of your boys:goodvibes I'm glad Christopher was able to come home for a day, and that's great that Brian is directing a play. When is Brian getting married?

Crissup - The multi-quote button is great!!!!:thumbsup2

HERSEY - I hate those kind of nights or days:headache: I hope today is a better day:wizard:

Kim - :wave2:

Well, I"m off to get ready for the frame store today.
I have alot to do there too. Working only 2 days a week, has it's disadvantages sometimes. I have many projects for only me to do, and it's hard to squeeze them into only 2 days.

Have a good day today everyone!!!

Donna
Hersey...CONGRATULATIONS on booking your trip!!! Is the food and wine festival still going on then?

Yes the Food and Wine festival is going one then, We get the best deal cheap room rates, food and wine (for me) and the Mickey Halloween party. :cool1:

Good Morning!

I just got done watching Oprah's interview with the families of the kidnapped boys from MO. I ususally never watch Oprah, but I saw the commercial for the show late last night and wanted to watch.
I cried so much! They avoided a lot of questions, understandably. And the families finally got to meet the 2 police officers that found the boys. That was emotional.
I'm so happy for those boys and their families.

DH is at jury duty again. It's for another case, so it's just the selection process. He got excused from yesterday's case as it would have lasted well into Feb. and since he's the main bread earner here, he got excused.
We'll see what happens today and tomorrow.
Here in Will County you have to serve for a week, where they then see if you'll actually be on a jury.

Hersey Are you going to check out rates for your vacation when they release info on Free Dining? I remember it was in May, I think, that they came out last year and we booked.

I told SamIAm last night that I may book the same dates as her and just go with the kids and myself! I'm waiting until they release the Free Dining rates first!! :thumbsup2
We could have a meet there!! :cool1: :rotfl:

slo Did they have the Disney Precious Moments at WDW?? I thought I saw them there??? ......on my quest for a figurine of Chip and Dale!!! :)

jedi Stop messing with us!!! :rotfl:
Did you make your Blue Bayou ressie yet?? I can't wait to take the kids there. I'm hoping to get ( and will request) a water table!! I love that place!!

Donna I hope your son enjoys his new computer!!! And your dinner sounded yummy! :)

Today I used my crockpot, since we've all been talking about them so much.
I made a roast.
Put the roast in the crockpot, and no I didn't brown it first.
Seasoned it. Mixed one packet of dry onion soup/dip mix with 1 1/2 cups of water and then mixed in one can of mushroom soup.
Pour over roast and that's it!! Cook on low all day.
When the roast is done I will make a gravy from the liquid.
Sure fire-no lump gravy: Melt 3-5 Tblsp of butter in a pan on low heat. Add several Tblsp of flour and cook flour until no longer raw (white). Add liquid from crockpot slowly, a little at a time. Whisk until smooth and bubbly.

I'm going to the foot doctor today! I hope they can come up with some solution to all my feet problems!!

Good luck Bunchkin!!

I'm hoping for Happy Feet for you! :cool1:

That would be a lot of fun if we could all hang in WDW!! Yeehaw!

Sort of a droopy darkish day huh! Well just think January is nearly over! Easily the worst month of the year for me. Blah, cold, blah, dark, blah cold!!

Now for a completely off the wall question for you all....

"Turn of the Century" -- have we had it already? I.e. was 1999 - 2000 another "Turn of the Century" or is it 2099 - 2100???

Am I just going old & senile? :lmao: I thought either one of those was entering a new century (I remember the discussions around 2000 that technically it wasn't the new century because that would be 2100 but then others were saying 2000 counts, etc... I can't remember what it finally boiled down to).

I know when I think "Turn of the Century" -- I think way before my time stuff but I was thinking about my 50th birthday (yes, I have many years to go but sometimes my mind wanders! I'm planning a big blowout "good Lord willing & the creeks don't rise", so I'm pre-planning now!), I was trying to think of a theme that wasn't "1950's" or "Golden". I started thinking 50 is 1/2 a century so what about "Turn of the Century" and then started thinking about the little tykes and thought "WAIT...what will "Turn of the Century" mean to them? Have we had it yet?" If we say "Turn of the Century when I"m 50, will they be thinking 2000?"

I really have too much time on my hands. :rotfl2: :surfweb:

I do have to go bake some cookies for Patriot's day this afternoon though so hopefully that will keep me out of trouble.

WHO is this DISer you met that's so close to us Debbie? I have someone in mind but, DO TELL!!! ;)

She's not THAT close. She actually lives in Addison but i met her at Yorktown,
DISNEYOHANA...very nice person.

Hi, by the way, KIM!

A century is 100 years. When/if the year 2999 to 3000 comes, from 2001 through 3000 that will be a millenium. A millenium is 1,000 years. Actually from the year 1001 through 2000 was a millenium.

The Turn of the Century actually took place when the year changed from 2000 to 2001. If you count something 1 through 10, then ten is actually the ending point, not 9. So, from 1999 to 2000 was not the Turn of The Century but fully through 2000 into 2001 -- with 1 being the starting point. Hope that makes sense.

DD got sick at school first thing this morning and I had to go get her. She got sick again at home but that has been it. I am hoping it's a small bug. We have the HSM concert tomorrow and I don't want anything to ruin it. We have been looking forward to it for so.... long!
Debbie

Good morning everyone.
Bunchkin-hope your feet are made for walking really soon.
It is too cold here. We need a frosty smiley. And where is the sun?!!!
Have to go to a wake this evening. My nephew's daughter passed away this week. She was 5 months old. She was born with several congenital anomalies, so we knew she wouldn't live to her 1st birthday, but it is still hard. I feel so bad for him and his wife. They have a 4 year old DS who is fine. But still. So hard.
Have been transferring our WDW trips onto DVD from the mini DVDs and from our past vacations on VHS-C . Fun to watch when the kids were smaller. It's funny how they go from autograph seekers to big ride stalkers.
I really would like to go on an adult only trip now so I could enjoy the parks and restaurants, shows and parades more than just the rides. Oh, well. One of these days.
Hey, Lindsay Lohan has gone into rehab. Say it isn't so. I had no clue she had a problem!!!! (Just kidding):rolleyes1
OK well you all have a good day.
Stay warm!!

A century is 100 years. When/if the year 2999 to 3000 comes, from 2001 to through 3000 that will be an eon. Eon is 1,000 years. Actually from the year 1001 through 2000 was an Eon.

OMG You're making my head spin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually I even corrected it because I was wrong on my terminology. It isn't Eon, but Millenium. So, that should really quack you up!

:rotfl:

Thank you (and I corrected my year dates! D'oh! I obviously had a too little sleep & not enough caffeine! :lmao: ).

I was just thinking "oh I could do a turn of the century party -- oh wait..I don't really want one that celebrates 2000 -- that's no fun, that's nothing different, I was *THERE*!!" but I was thinking this as I was giving my 3 year old his bath, so thinking "wow..to him "Turn of the Century" will probably have a completely different meaning than it does to ME since he wasn't alive until 2003!"

Debbie

EEK!!! Get well quick vibes for you!!! :wizard:

Bunchkin Sam That would be fun for all of us to go :cool1: free dining will be great if it comes along. :yay:

Debbie I hope your daughter feels better.

Tiggerrn2 I saw that too about Lindsey rehab must be in vogue these days. Sorry to hear about your nephew's baby that is so sad.

Becky2005 I don't think you want to be 100 yrs old

Hi, Chicago! :wave2: Sick kids all around. Some getting better, one getting worse. At least I'm healthy now.

Hope you're all well! Stay warm!

Becky2005 I don't think you want to be 100 yrs old

Nahh...I'm doubting I'll make it to the 100 year old but was thinking 50 was 1/2 a Century so "Turn of the Century" popped into my head at that word or even doing "1/2" of everything, I'm intending to do it at Disney & I could see them working with a Turn of the Century theme (but then got paranoid some youngin' would think I meant 2000! -- I have slightly over 10 years to go, who knows what age of a person I would get working at Disney might think! :lmao: )

Then again, there are days I'm not sure I'll make it to 40 & that's only next year! :rotfl2:

I'm just trying to come up with something fantastic (basically what can drag most of my family from Chicagoland to Florida to celebrate my birthday without them thinking I'm looney but something that if they do choose to come makes it worth their while) My family is definitely NOT Disneyfied. So, I don't know how many would actually be willing to travel to celebrate but if we have a small group, that's fine too -- I plan on doing it big even if it's just my kids (or possibly even grandkids by then!!! :scared1: Since my oldest will be 24!!!!! That's enough of that talk...I now officially feel old again.)

Helllo everyone again! :wave2:

Good news! I got a new job! (My previous job had been eliminated on 12/08).

Thank all of you for your supportive comments. :grouphug:
