Becky- how did your son's movie birthday party go, or is that this weekend? What movie are they/or end up seeing for the birthday party?

Slowly trying to catch up with this thread but I think it's a lost cause this week & next! That is if I want to get anything done. :lmao:

The birthday party is tomorrow & remind me to never ever do another movie birthday party again! I knew there was a reason I didn't really want to do one in the first place & now that I'm in the midst of it, I should have listened to my inner voice who was kicking & screaming going along with this. We are going to see Arthur & the Invisibles...that is if the time doesn't change AGAIN on us! :lmao: (Started with 6ish showing, ended with 4:30 showing room at 6; then called told movie doesn't get out until 6:20 -- so much for telling the pizza delivery to be at 6! Thankfully they work with the pizza place so called to arrange the delivery to change to 6:20...now let's see if I get any more calls about time changes!). So, now we can have the room until 7:30, except my invitations were from 3:45 - 7:00. They wanted us there EARLY for the movie which was supposed to start at 4:30 but apparently now is starting a bit later. I don't know...at this point I'm going to show up with cake & ice cream and hope all goes well & I'm not dealing with a bunch of squirrly bored kids because of other time changes and no where to go. This is just *way* too much stress for the planner in me! AND the fact that I might not even make it there by 3:45!!! My DD gets out of school at 3:19, across town & I have to try to make it from her school to the movie theater (theatre? WHICH is the correct spelling?) by 3:45! :car: :drive:

Another great jungle cruise one-liner...

And now, probably the most dangerous part of our journey- the return to civilization! I certainly hope you've enjoyed our cruise. However, if your in-laws are still with you, you've missed a golden opportunity. However, bring them back later tonight for our "in-law" special... halfway for half fare, no questions asked.

:lmao:

Woo Hoo, I think?

DD tried out for their musical which is "Aladdin Jr." (basically Aladdin adapted for Middle Schoolers). She called to tell me she got the part of The Magic Carpet. I'm excited because it's not a narrator (she really, really didn't want narrator!) but then I thought and laughed, WAIT, the Magic Carpet doesn't talk! :rotfl2:

So, I'm trying to research & see if I can find any snippets of what exactly The Magic Carpet DOES do in Aladdin Jr. -- I did find it referenced a lot on google, the one school that did it, didn't use a person as a magic carpet so. :confused3

Should be interesting...ah...another thing to add to my schedule. I forgot to ask if her friend got a part too. Oops!

I don't know if it'll be like the Aladdin show at DCA? But there the carpet is a person in a carpet costume, and it does a lot of miming and stuff. It was a cute role.

Either way, congrats to your DD! :)

DH is finally outside taking down the lights that were hitting the windows. :cool1: Lauren said they woke her up this morning too.

Becky I hope that the movie party goes off without any glitches! :rotfl: Movie times always change on me when I'm trying to plan an outing too. ;)

Debbie I hope the exercises that the doctor told you to do help. I wonder if it would be better to go to physical therapy for them though.
Naprosin is a pain killer. I've taken it and not been drowsy. Same with DH.

Sam There is one particular guy who is the funniest of all Skipper's but we never got him this past trip. I wish I could remember his name. I find all the girl's to be off on their timing of jokes....or not that funny at all.
What cracked us up was how the humor was lost on the boat full of foreigners who didn't speak any English and didn't, obviously, laugh one bit. :rotfl:

Bunckin Sam We had one guy tall and thin, He was by far the best. He had us cracking up. We also had one guy on the boat that was giving it back to the guide. It was way too funny :rotfl2:. Our guide had to remind the guy on the boat that this was his gig.

:lmao: :lmao:

Do you know that the 1st time we went on the ride was just on our trip in Oct!!!!! :scared1: No one besides me wanted to ever go on it, so we never did. FINALLY....I convinced everyone to go and now they love it!!! :rotfl:

One time we hd this guy who did commedy gigs too at the commedy club at DTD ( i think) he was a funny.. also the skippers at DL did a different routine with different jokes than WDW..

I don't think I'll ever get tired of those tired old jokes. :rotfl2: I love that ride oh I mean adventure. Ok I have to get some work done so I can watch the new Grey's tonight. Signing out :wave2: Did you notice there are some new smilies.:woohoo:

Hey...I think there were rumors floating around that they were considering revamping the Jungle Boat Cruise where there would be no more guides on it

...I might be confused with another ride but I thought it was that one.

Wouldn't that be so...sad!

Could it have been Living with the Land? They were (or are--don't know the status) going to take out the people on that one, and replace them with a recording.

I gotta watch Greys AND ER. I do LOVE Thursday night TV too!
I like the drama!
BOY...do I think Dr McDreamy is hot too!

Becky Are you going to make her costume?

I don't PLAN on it but I'm scared....:scared1: Next Friday is the Patriot's day and one of the people working on the play is DD's Language Arts teacher. I hope she doesn't find out I made the dress, then expect me to make a magic carpet. :upsidedow I think I'm safe though because the other teacher at try-outs was the Home Ec teacher!

Want to hear a funny about this though? DD kept saying her LA teacher looked just like "Miss Darvus" when she was up on the stage! (sp? The drama teacher in High School Musical!) and I could see where the resemblence is! DEFINITELY except as far as I know her LA teacher doesn't wear glasses. It took all DD could do from calling her that instead of her real name.

They would never take away the Jungle Cruise Skippers because they are part of the "experience". They did do away with the narrators on Living With The Land, which actually is better because the recording is far more interesting and is more engaging than the old narrators who were obviously really bored with their spiel.

The worst change was the a lady gangster on the Great Movie Ride. Really hard to be "scared" of a lady gangster doin a fake Joisy accent! Ugggh. That's a guys role!!

Hello all! I am still alive! I have been trying to keep up with your posts. I usually read them in the morning, while I eat my cereal!
Everything is going well here. I am on my second semester of school and have thankfully gotten all of my classes over the course of two evenings. The kids are doing fine, although they have been bugging me about a WDW trip. When DS got Xmas money, he said he was going to save it for Disney. Little do they know that the next time I decide to go, it will be an adults only trip!
