LEIGH...obviously, I missed yesterday's skating show! Do you know when any others are going to be broadcast? I really have to remember to check those things out because I do LOVE watching skating.

The next skating on is on Sunday from 12:30pm-2:30pm on ABC. It's the Grand Prix event from France.

Then it looks like the Ice Wars competition that you went to will be on CBS on Dec. 1 from 7pm-9pm.

Then the Russian Grand Prix event will be on ABC on Dec. 3 from 3pm-5pm.

Hope you can see some of it! :goodvibes

And to everyone here...Have a Happy Thanksgiving!!! :sunny:

I'm dising while waiting not so patiently for my pies to cook. I'll do my sweet pototoes in the morning. Pies have 10-15 min more than to sleep for me.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!! Hope you all have a great day tomorrow and enjoy your family time.
I give thanks for my family, my home, my job, and all my friends (the ones I've met and the ones I just talk with here.) Every last one of you are most important in my life. :grouphug:
Have a great day!!!

Happy Thanksgiving, Turkey Day, to everyone here!!! :thumbsup2

Kelly sang and played cymbals at church tonite, choir grades 1-4. I love when the congregation actually applauds the kids during a regular church service. :goodvibes

We are doing T-Day at home, just me, (separated) dh, DS & DD. Something new for us. Turned down my Mom's invitation. :duck: Also something new. :rotfl:

Spent the day cleaning with DD (!!!!) :faint: She did great tho. It's HER mess anyway! :rotfl: Also did that last-minute shopping! WHAT was I thinking?!?!?! Why didn't I go yesterday?!?! :confused3 :scared: :rolleyes1

T-day should be fine tho. Different, but fine. :)

Friday - C'mas tree and decorations get started! :woohoo: BIG JOB around here!!! Normally, I'm sooo ready but, this year, T-day seems to have come so fast that, Cmas seems just around the corner! I'm not ready!

Give Thanks everyone. I know I will/do. :grouphug:

I'm up so early this morning.
Last night, at about 9pm, I looked at my frozen pumpkin pie and it said that I needed to bake it for 70-80 minutes  I bought a frozen pie this year so I wouldn't have to bake it. So, that will be going in the oven by 6:30am, so it can be out by the time the bird needs to go in.

macraven - Did you get your last minute items. I feel like I'm forgetting something, and it's really bugging me. I will realize what it is right when I'm sitting down to eat.

Sam - If you don't get on, have a great great trip!!! :cool1: Stay safe, eat well, and have lots and lots of fun!!!

Jedi - Enjoy your time off work!!!! :Pinkbounc

Rosemarie - Happy Thanksgiving Eve to you too!!! :wave2:
*Stephanie had school yesterday, and I was glad too, I had a lot of running around to do.
*That's a bummer about Chrissy needing to see an Ortho soon. When you get your estimate for braces, let me know what it is, Stephanie has to start seening an Ortho within the next 2 years too :guilty: We'll share the pain of expensive braces together :)

Becky - We got a new Portillos close to us recently, but we haven't eatin there yet. We are going to have to try it soon :goodvibes

HERSEY - Happy Thanksgiving to you too!!!! :wave2:

Debbie - Happy Thanksgiving to you too!!!! :wave2:

geffric - Happy Thanksgiving to you too!!! :wave2:

I hope you have a wonderful dinner with just you and your family :) I think it's great that you are having your (seperated) DH with you for dinner. I'm sure your children will really enjoy having you all together :goodvibes

BigV - Holy cow, you are up earlier than me :faint: Happy Thanksgiving to you too!!! :wave2:

Well, I gotta go and get my pie in the oven.

To all of my friends, or should I say, DIS family :goodvibes , have a wonderful Thanksgiving today!!!! Whether you go somewhere or stay home - stay safe, eat well, and have a great holiday. I love you all, and I'm thankful everyday to have met you either in person, or just on the computer :grouphug:

Good Morning Chicago!!!! :teeth: :sunny:

I hope everyone enjoys their Thanksgiving holiday!!

This year we are going to my mom's house for dinner. We are bringing a broccoli casserole, an appetizer and a chocolate delight dessert (it's made in a trifle bowl and it's huge!!!!).

I promised the kids I would make them pancakes and bacon this morning. So I better get a move on. Although, Hunter and I are the only ones up yet!! :)
And I think he has a cold. :(

Unfortunatly, there is a lot of drama going on with our extended family and I have a feeling that this day is not going to end happy. :guilty: :sad2:
Maybe I can ask for my turkey "to go"!! :teeth:

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL OF YOU!!

Hope everyone has a good day,at home or at family's homes.
DH is going right now to pick up our 2 pies from Baker's Square, pumpkin pie and french silk pie. We normally just get the french silk, but Matthew really wanted pumpkin this yr, also, so we ordered both! Later on, we will be cooking our own Thanksgiving dinner.
Chrissy is very happy to just be starting to watch the Macy's Thanksgiving parade! Her and Matthew love to watch this parade every yr.

Debbie- your favorite musician, Barry Manilow will be perfroming in the parade!!
And all of you that like High School Musical, that performance is supposed to be on as well!

Ok, I'm going to get off the computer now.

I am very blessed and thankful knowing all of my DIS friends here!! I appreciate all of you here!!

i'm so blessed to have the chgoland homies as my friends.

dinner was done at 1:30 and the kitchen was cleaned up by 2:30.

i believe around 7, we'll start this food process all over again.... :rotfl2:
the family does love turkey.

we had our furnace cleaned monday and was told it had a crack in the heat conductor and the furnace wall. had to turn the heat off. the furnace dude put in a new furnace yesterday and we had heat last night. that was a good thing.
but, we found out this morning that when the water was shut off yesterday to install the humidifier on the new furnace that the valve broke.

we figure it was cheaper to let this water run 24 hours more and get a plumber in the morning. we won't be using $150 of water in that time period.
plumbers here charge a premium to come out on a holiday.

there goes my black friday shopping in the morning.

still haven't heard from son so had to change the date of the return ticket.
$100 down the drain. i did receive phone calls the last 2 nights from out of the country per the caller id but when i tried to talk, the line went dead.
it must have been son.

i'm thankful for the 2 sons i have at home but still want the 3rd son to be with us. i know that will happen but don't know when.

thank you, all of you, for being here for me.

i am very blessed. the material things in my house don't mean a thing.
my family does.

hope all of you had all of your family with you today to be together.
and, i hope your thanksgiving was wonderful!

ok jedi, fess up.......what did you forget this thanksgiving day that you had to make a mad dash to the grocery store to get????

:listen:

Well......we have another successful holiday behind us :cheer2:

Everything yesterday went great and my sweet potatoes turned out wonderful :Pinkbounc They weren't my Grandma's, but like Kevin said, I'll never be able to reproduce my Grandma's sweet potatoes perfectly.

We had some time to spare last night, so we up put our new tree (just the tree) up yesterday - it is beautiful!!!!! :cloud9: I was so unsure about getting white or colored lights, because we always had white lights. I decided on the colored lights, and I am very pleased with my decision. Now today I get to decorate it!!!!! :teeth:

To all of you that said Happy Thanksgiving yesterday - Happy Thanksgiving to you too :)

Bunchkin - How was Thanksgiving at your mom's? I sure hope that everything went well and there was no problems.
*How's Hunter today? I hope his cold is better. Sending lots of PD his way :wizard:

Rosemarie - How was Thanksgiving with just you and your family? I bet it was very peaceful and nice :cloud9: Have you heard from your SIL again or did she finally buzz off.

NiteOwl - :wave2:

Debbie - Did the confusion with times work out yesterday for you? I remember one side of the family changed the time on you.

HERSEY - When you mentioned horseradish I realized that I forgot to put that out yesterday (kicking myself now). Oh well, there's always next year

mac - That's a bummer about the broken valve :guilty: The problems keep coming for you. I hope that gets fixed soon, and I"m sending lots of PD your way to get that black cloud of bad luck to get off your house :wizard: :wizard:
**I'm sorry you haven't talked to your son yet :guilty: I'm still keeping him and you all in my prayers.

Well, I gotta run and make some breakfast.
Have a good day today everyone!!!!

Good Morning Everyone!!

Happy Black Friday!! :cool1:

Well we survived Thanksgiving at my mom's house!! :thumbsup2
The food was really yummy!

Anyone go shopping this morning or plan on going shopping some time today? :teeth:

DH went to Target early this morning! He was the 2nd person in line.
He got a few things that Santa will leave for the kids. ;)

And we took advantage of the many stores that had their Black Friday items on sale online!! :thumbsup2
Good deals!!!!

Today we are heading out to buy more lights for the outside of our house and hopefully DH will get them up today! And then we start decorating the inside of the house too. :)

At 3:30am this morning while DH was driving to Target he was listening to the traffic report on the radio. It stated that there was a huge 2 mile backup on 88 to the outlet mall in Aurora!! And that there were several accidents in our area!
So everyone please be very careful today while you're out and about!! :grouphug:

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!!

Have a great day everyone!!! :wave2:

Hunter seems to be feeling better. Let's hope it stays this way. He always seems to get sick around Thanksgiving.

Glad to hear that your Thanksgiving went well!! :teeth:
I bet your new tree looks so pretty!!! Have fun decorating it today!
We put our new one up last week and it's awesome! :teeth:

Hi Nicole!!! :wave2:

I'm glad Hunter is feeling better :)

I'm glad your Thanksgiving at your mom's went well. :)

Tony is such a trooper for getting up and going out shopping early :) My mom and dad went out one year when I was kid and told me how terribly crowded it was, and they would never go again. That left such an impression on me, that I've never gone shopping on black Friday. Instead, I like to stay in my jammies until noon :teeth:
