They're selling that lamp at Suncoast Video. :rotfl2:

That would be awesome!!!

Sears has a whole Christmas Village of A Christmas Story. It's a Dept 56 exclusive to them. I'm SOOOO tempted. I just LOVE that movie! :happytv:

Have you all ever seen the Christmas Story in 30 seconds? It's great!:

Jedi..I couldn't pull up your DHs web page. Any suggestions?

The things you learn from reading the phone book.... ;)

We got a new phone book today (yes, I'm somewhat weird and like to read through the first few info pages! They used to be better... :teeth: )

So...I'm looking under Chicagoland Amusements and see "Dinorex Amusement Park" -- Hmm...sounds interesting, never heard of it. The website listed doesn't work. I'm wondering anyone know about this & did it suffer the same fate as Santa's Village? (Considering that's listed too & this is a 2006-2007 book! :lmao: ).

I did a google search and saw apparently 2 locations one in Crystal Lake & one in Arlington Heights? (the phone book says Prospect Heights & Addison though!). Not a whole lot there other than they were a small theme park.

Just curious if anyone knows anything?

Was just there Becky! It's like a Chucki E Cheese kind of a place but there are 4 rides. A mini roller coaster, a Dumbo like ride (But they are bananas flying), a ride that just turns and turns in a circle and I think there was one more but maybe not. Nothing like Santa's Village.

Thanks Debbie -- I knew someone on this thread had probably at least heard of it. Good to know what exactly it is.

I had no clue, it was actually listed on some theme park websites, so I was bit baffled.

Becky- like Debbie said, Dinorex is similar to Chuckee Cheeses or Jeepers. Jeepers( if nobody heard of it) is an indoor facility with a couple of small amusement park rides, too. Like Chuckee Cheeses, Jeepers and Dinorex can be used for birthday parties and/or just a walk-in and play type of places. Matthew and Chrissy went to a birthday party at Dinorex at the Arlington Hts. location about 3 yrs ago, the only time I've been there. I've been to the Jeepers( I think it's still called that) in Addison or Glendale Heights location a few yrs. back.

Tiggerrn- I do feel for you, as of working Thanksgiving Day :guilty: . I remember those days of working as an RN on day shift or PM shift during the holiday, esp Thanksgiving and Christmas.I mostly worked Thanksgiving so I can be off on Christmas. Well, at least you can get time and a half or double time pay (whichever your hosp. does for holidays) :teeth:

OK, gotta run, as I need to take Matthew to his Cub Scout Den meeting soon.

Have a good evening

SamIAm Don't go to the trouble of sending them. That seems like too much work. What about a small carry-on bag that you could bring them with you on the plane, if your worried about them getting squashed. :)

And if Disney doesn't rerun the AG Molly movie right away, you can come here and watch it AFTER Christmas. I have one on order for Lauren and it will be sent on 11-28, but I'm not giving it to her until Christmas.

We have a FRA GEE LAY lamp ornament!!! :rotfl2: I bought it last year. It is AWESOME!!!! Everyone loves it!! ::yes:: It plays the clip from the movie where the dad is mispronouncing fragile. :rotfl:

jedi Thanks for those links!!! :rotfl2: AWESOME!!! :rotfl:

Have you ever done something stupid and you just kick yourself for it!!

I finished my post - responding to everyone and I was completing it by putting everyone's name in red. When I went to hit the up arrow button, I hit the "go" button next to the address at the top of the page and wiped the whole thing out.

So basically, hello to everyone, I don't have to time to redo my whole post.

I hope you all have a good day today!!!!

good morning chicagoland homies.

No work at all. I got some great information from an "inside" source yesterday. She's very very smart about Disney. Curious about my source... Okay fine, it's Debbie6221!! We had a great conversation on the phone yesterday and she told me a great way to get stuff sent home for a reasonable price. I really hate schlepping through the airport with a multitude of bags because I tend to be forgetful and leave things everywhere. Ask Megan, she'll tell you!!

I hope Lauren is feeing better today!!

DEBBIE6221

She didn't cancel!! She actually came by to pay me the last of the money and, to apologize for bringing me down! We had a good conversation and she is really excited, just having the normal pre-trip jitters. Ya know, did I shut the iron off??? Stuff like that! So, I'll have to take her at her word on that and hope for the best!! It was so great talking to you yesterday. You are an awesome multi-tasker. On the phone, giving the kids a bath and managing to stay dry!! That rocks!! Thanks for all the good hints you gave me! I had to write them down as we were talking. Too funny!!

To all my Chicagoland DIS friends, I wish you a happy, healthy, Thanksgiving. I am hoping to be able to get on line on either Friday or Saturday, but just in case I don't! I'll see y'all when I get back. I'm pretty sure I'll be on though!!

Have a great Turkey Day! GOBBLE GOBBLE!!

did i mention yesterday i was tied up and couldn't go to work?
i had my furnace cleaned and was told it had a crack in it.

today the new one is being installed. also need a new humidifier as the old one doesn't work properly.

can any one say cha-ching............. :sad2:

no one told me how expensive it is to replace a furnace.
couldn't use it at all last night and glad it wasn't too cold out side.

i love to shop but, really, furnaces and humidifiers are not my type of fun shopping.

My Thanksgiving break officially starts in 2 1/2 hours! :cool1: Once I'm off of work, I'm off until Monday. I can't wait!

Anyone still have to do shopping for tomorrow? I think I'm done, but it never fails that on Thanksgiving, I think of SOMETHING that I've forgotten, so I send out a very cranky DH to the store to get what I need. But I'm hoping that won't happen this year :teeth:

Hi all- Happy Thanksgiving eve

There isn't any turkey smilies on the smilie board. :confused3
Anyways, the kids are off of school today. Now they have the Wed before Thanksgiving and the Friday after off. They always had the Friday after off, but not Thanksgiving eve off. They go back to school next Mon.
Any of you have your kids off today, too? Must be a new trend in my school dist., for families and teachers that travel for Thanksgiving, I suppose.

Chrissy had a dentist appt. this morning. Dh took her, as he took a vacation day off of work today. Chrissy had to have a baby tooth pulled, which was unexpected, but Chrissy did ok. She still has a cold, too. The dentist wants us to get an orthodontal consult for Chrissy, as of maybe needing braces :guilty: Not looking forward to that, as I feel 9 and a half yrs old is too young for that and the money for braces :faint:
So,we'll see when I get an ortho appt for her, as I still need to get an eye dr. appt done for her. Oye!

Mac- sorry to hear about buying a new furnace and humidifyer :guilty:
It is a pain to spend money on all that, as furnaces are expensive. We had to buy a new water heater about 6yrs. ago and a new air conditioning unit 7 yrs ago. Way too expensive :sad2: I know how you feel.

Slo- Sorry to hear about the lost post. It seems to happen to all of us. Don't worry about it :)

SamIam- have a great trip at the World!

Jedi- How's Toby doing? Enjoy your days off! :cool1:

We only had 1/2 day today. We are now off. I have one more boy to take to Karate and then YEAH...I'm "off" from running around with the kids anyway until Monday.

DH just came home with Portillo's for me, so I have to go.

Hi everyone.

Hi Everyone,
Got a ton done today (for a change). Hope you guys all had productive days too (if that was your choice).

SamIAm...It was really great talking to you too. I am so glad it all worked out with the SIL!! :cool1: I am so excited for you!!!!!! Hopefully we will hear from you before hand still.
Isn't it weird how you hang up the phone and you feel like you know a person. Hope I was a help!

Sorry about the furnace Mac. That stinks!!

Becky....I want my tickets!!!! I am getting nervous.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you if I don't get a chance to post in the AM!
I'm thankful I have all of you to talk to!

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you
