Hey Diser's!! Okay, who turned out the lights?? :confused3 Where's my :sunny: ?

Paintnolish, Bunchkin, and Windy City Heather - It was great to meet everyone yesterday. Heather is leaving for the World on Wednesday. Can you say LUCKY!!! I want to thank everyone for the nice afternoon nap that Megan took. So, I'm thanking Kendyll, Isabella, Benjamin, Lauren and last, but definitely not least Hunter! Y'all did a great job of wearing Megan out.

So, here's a funny typically "me" moment. All day yesterday, Megan and I kept smelling something horrid in my car. I thought it was her soccer bag and told her, take that thing to the laundry room so I can Febreeze it. Well, it still smelled funny in the car?? Yesterday, I got home from McDonalds and I went to the frig for the pork roast I was going to make for dinner...(can you see it coming??). Yep, the nasty smell was a two day old pork roast laying in my trunk. :rolleyes1 EWWWW!!

Thankfully, we were able to defrost some pork chops I had in the freezer, so dinner wasn't a total loss!

I enjoyed watching the Bears smear the Packers yesterday! Go BEARS!!

Have a good day everyone!! Got to get to work! No workie, no Disney!! :rotfl:

I had to literally tear myself away from the tv this morning. :sad2:
MSNBC is replaying the Today Show broadcast from 9/11/2001.
Still such an unbelievable sight, even 5 years later.

:grouphug: :grouphug:

Shouldn't we all be thankful to live in a country where we have had the opportunity to have come together here and become friends.
I know I am!

::yes::

Yeah, I have the Fox News coverage on the internet here from that day. (I don't know if I'm supposed to have streaming video on for hours here, but I don't really care.)

It still feels like it was yesterday. :sad1:

Good Morning All

My son Eric and Amy's DH were in an accident outside of Springfield Missouri late last night. They are movers and drive an 18 foot truck. I guess they went off the road and the truck went down a 20 foot embankment and flipped a couple of times. Amy got a call around 1 am this morning.

Eric was sleeping and leaning over by Tim who was driving. He woke up when the windshield broke. His right leg went out the passenger window and was trapped under the truck because the truck landed on the passenger side.

I talked to a paramedic who was transporting Tim to the hospital which was almost an hour away and he said Eric was concious and alert and they were working on getting him out.

About 3 am the chaplain from the hospital called me to tell me Eric was at the hospital and going for tests and x-rays bet seemed fine except for his leg and lots of cuts.

Tim fractured some ribs and alot of pain in his back. He was released this morning but not Eric yet.

I talked to Eric this morning and it took almost 2 hours to get him out with the jaws of life then putting air bags under the cab. They flew him to the hospital in Springfield MO which took 18 minutes.

He is in alot of pain and have been giving him morphine since he was trapped. Right now I am waiting to talk to the Doctor.

It's 518 miles and 8 hours away. :sad2:

Oh Carrie!!!
I'm sorry to hear this. :(

I know that area well. Are you going to be going there? There is an airport in Springfield. I believe Southwest flies there.

How badly hurt was Eric's leg? Do you know yet?

I can't believe they released Amy's husband already.

How is Amy doing??
:grouphug:

Carrie- OMG, I'm so sorry :sad1:
Lots of prayers For Eric and Tim, esp Eric.
:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:
I pray they won't need to amputate Eric's leg. Prayers he gets better.
You and Amy must be so shaken up.
Prayers to all of you. Please keep us posted as you get information.

I am not sure what we are going to do yet. Eric's leg is not broke which just surprised the Dr's. Even the Chaplain last night said he probably broke 3 or 3 bones in his leg.

His leg is very stiff and he can't move it at all and his shoulder is very sore and swollen. He is not sure how he hurt it but either in the flipping or when Tim was trying to pull him out of the cab. Tim had to force the drivers door open and climp out then go to the rode to flag down help. I think he couldn't find his cell phone at first or was just shook up. Eric remembers some nurses getting there first and kincking out the windshield to try to get him out that way. When everyone else got there they thought Eric went through the windshield.

The paramedics did tell Eric it was a good thing he wasn't leaning up against the window sleeping.

I was surprised they released Amy's DH also, where can they go? There money is still in the cab they don't know anyone down there I thought they would just keep them both for observation just for the fact they live in Chicago.

I didn't realize Southwest flew there, DH and I were going to rent a van to get them home so they could lay down. Tim's sister is going to go get Tim and I told Eric to wait for us and not release himself to just wait for the DR. of course they won't get there for about 7-8 hours.

Thank you for the prayers, I think I slept 2 hours last night.

Just a funny thing Eric said to me this morning. He said he felt bad for Tim that he hurt his back because he is going to Disney in a couple of weeks.

Carrie :grouphug: Please take care getting down there. I hope all turns out well. Your son sounds very thoughtful pixiedust: For all

Oh my! Well, I'm just glad that everyone is going to be okay after some healing time! Sounds like a very scary situation! I've been out that way a time or two myself. Some embankments are a lot further down than 20 feet. It's very hilly out that way. Beautiful country, but I'd hate to drive those roads in the dark myself!!

Best wishes to Tim & Eric. Fast and speedy healing!

NiteOwl - How scary! I'm glad they've come out well so far, and I'll keep them in my thoughts and prayers. :grouphug:

Carrie - How scary! OMG I am so glad that they're both ok. I hope by now you're on yourway down there. be safe :grouphug:

To all my other chicago disers....TGIM - HAHAH NOT YUCK what a cruddy day....I have to go grocery shopping and I am so avoiding it.

Had a great weekend -(yeah Bears)....Got to see/meet/hang with the guys from Hootie and the Blowfish on Saturday night at Ravinia. We had a blast!!!! Had about a 20 minute chat with Dean (bassist) about WDW & taking kids out of school to go.

I'll update more later....just wanted to say hey everyone

Carrie and Amy - :grouphug: and :wizard: That is just such an incredibule story. It is truely a miracle that they both are okay, sort of. I find it difficult to believe that that let Tim out of the hospiatl with back issues and all. Please let us know if we can help in anyway.

nightowl, oh no, that is horrible on what happened to tim and eric.
thoughts and prayers for them and your family and amy.

:grouphug:
