Bunchkin- See, we need to go to R Place when I get back. I will have been in training all week to eat large quantites of food at WDW! Seriously, though, I watched this thing about competitive eater and how they actually train to stretch out their stomaches!
:moped: Beep! Beep! Crazy scooter driver coming through! :lmao:
Leigh- No funnel cakes for you? What's not to love? Maybe you got a bad one, although I don't know how that can be.

Okay, just so you can all share in the "It's a Small World" moment, disneymama does know my friend! Their kids go to the same school. I have known this girl for over 12 years! She is sweet, but a real talker. On my first day of 8th grade, I was new to the school, and knew no one. She turned around and started talking to me in English. An hour later I knew her life story! Her kids call my parents grandma and grandpa. She has been on numerous family vacations with us.

paint I'm up for R'Place anytime! You know on Sundays they sometimes have the yummiest dish on their specials menu. It's roast pork with mashed potatos and dressing...and gravy of course!!! YUM-O!!! Delish!! :rotfl:

:moped: Move it or loose it!!!

Leigh I have never met a funnel cake I didn't like!!!

If you all go to Bengstons pumpkin farm they have the best funnel cakes anywhere. We get one and go watch the pig races!! Yes, I said pig races. They are the funnies thing you'll ever see. Big huge hogs racing around a little track. And they have 2 redreck type dudes doing the announcing, they are funny too! :teeth:

The girls are still up. I can hear them whispering....loudly!! :teeth:

DH fell asleep on the couch in the family room over 2 hours ago!!! We just left him down there!!! :rotfl:

Eating something horribly fattening while watching pigs race? Isn't it ironic, don't ya' think, a little too ironic...

Good morning everyone! Any one want a puppy with an upset tummy! I think I'm done now :rotfl: Poor Hershey must have eatend some grass that didn't agree with him.

Any one going to the Air and Water show? I hope the weather clears soon. I don't want to spend the whole day inside.

Good Saturday morning everyone!!! :surfweb:

So, what's everyone up to today? I am going to be working, working, working around the house getting ready for Katie's party. I got a lot done yesterday, but I have more to do today.

Last night be watched The Inside Man with Denzel Washington. Man it was slow. It was one of those movies where I was anxious for it to end, to get it over with.

Sandy...how scary! I would have done the same exact thing...
It was sorta, because we live at the end of a dead end street, and anyone can do anything and no one would know. I have to be extra cautious.

Today we find out who my 4th & 1st graders get as teachers.
I'm glad you posted this because Steph's school posted this too yesterday and we didn't go look. We need to do this today :teacher:

This morning my parents took my kids to a kiddie musical at Marriott Lincolnshire theater.
That sounds nice :goodvibes It's to bad that your mom couldn't keep the kids longer. Do the kids wear her out? After my mom has spent the day with my kids, she is so tired. She has told me that, plus you can just see how drained she is when she leaves my house.

That sounds like a great movie rental night :teeth:

We should have an R' Place meet for us "southeners"!!!
What is this :confused3 - I never heard of it :sad2:
I'm a pretty good driver and fast too, so at least if I hit someone they won't be able to get my scooter #.

To all my other Chicago friends - Hi there!!! :wave2:

Well, I'm off and running to do my chores. Have a good day today everyone!!

Good Morning!! :sunny: <---Where is the sun??

Lauren's friends is still here and they are playing Littlest Pet Shops. Does anyone else have these in their homes?? I find them to be very ugly!! :rolleyes2 Her friend lost a tooth this morning eating a donut!! :rotfl:

We have a block party going on here later today. Hopefully it won't rain anymore. The organizer's husband is on the fire dept. He arranged for a fire truck and ambulance to come out for the kids to see. :cool1:

slo I hope you get everything done in time for Katie's party! I always feel like I need to scrub the house from top to bottom, when I know this isn't neccesary!! I like a clean house anyway, but I go into overdrive when people are coming over!! :rotfl:

Does Katie have a theme for her party? princess:

R' Place is in Morris, right off of I-80 and route 47. It is a restaurant/gas station/ truck stop. It's good home cookin'!! And very friendly people, most of them locals. They have lots of old time toys and such decorating the place all over. And some of it is Disney! :thumbsup2 We usually go there to eat and than shop at the Super Walmart across the road.

Hersey Maybe Hershey was trying to help cut the grass??!! :confused3 :rotfl2:

Just to get a night out of the house and away from the children makes an enjoyable evening here!!! :rotfl2:

That did sway my opinion...hmm...food + no kids. This could work. ;)

paintnolish -- That's too funny regarding your friend.

We found out my kid's teachers yesterday & even my DD got her schedule in the mail. I'm happy with it.

I think my daughter got a fairly good schedule core subject, "fun" (i.e. tech ed/home ec/PE), core subject, etc... Basically the day is broken up between book type classes & non-book type. I just really hope she likes her Language Arts teacher! She has Language Arts I and Language Arts II with the same teacher one right after the other. So basically she's going to be sitting in the same classroom for 2 periods in the afternoon. If she doesn't care for the teacher it's going to make a L-O-N-G year. Last year she had 2 different teachers for those classes and at 2 different times. She really didn't like her LAI teacher but did like her LAII teacher. I'm very happy about the bus situation. We built a new Middle School here and the way they were describing where the busses were going to be made no sense at all for the kids at the new school -- it was going to be as far away as possible, since both the new & old are sharing the bus (the schools are next to each other). However, with the map they gave us & how it's going to work it makes so much more sense & less stressful on me thinking she was going to end up missing her bus or being late to class all the time. They get to have an ice cream party at the end of the first day since it will be the first day of classes every there. That will be fun -- although it's only 1/2 day so she will probably not want lunch when she comes home. Aahhh..ice cream for lunch, works for me. :rotfl:

I have no clue about 4th grader's teacher. I asked my daughter (but she didn't have her), her assessment of that teacher is "She's very nice".

My 1st grader got a teacher I think I will be pleased with. I have had a small amount of dealings with her via PTO but I liker her personality...besides she has a website that is very informative.

The beginning of school is always a bit extra stressful for me wtih my boys as they both have IEP's and those of you that have kids with those know how it's always a balance of making sure everyone is on the same page beyond the regular adjustments all kids go through. It will be interesting this year because my 4th grader will have a shared aide in the classroom (he just doesn't know the aide is there for him! :rotfl2: Don't want him to know that necessarily). We've never had an aide before so I'm curious as to how it's going to work.

Now, I just have to finish getting a few last minute school supplies. I forgot the softsoap for the boys & as we were going over the list again, realized I need Wet Ones for Art class for my 4th grader. DD packed their backpacks, so I'm really not 100% sure what is all in there. She has been very diligent wtih checking everything off & double-checking it, etc... though. (She asked to do this, so I let her! :goodvibes ).

Today is our last day to be a bum. Next week I've warned the kids I'm going to be waking them up early to get used to getting up for school. My DD is going to be grumpy.

I def'ly agree, had to fast forward it a bit :bored: to jusr see what happend at the end...

Good morning all! Nice relaxing Saturday here. I'm so glad the week is over! Today we're going to Merrilville (again) and probably eating China Buffet (all you can eat sushi for 6 dollars? Heck yeah!) and then relaxing in a comfy chair at the Caribu coffee. Then maybe drag ourselves over to costco

Slo that is scary about that guy coming to your door! Scary scary! Never saw the INside Man, but if its slow I may not enjoy it.

Leigh it is so awesome you met Brian Boitano and talked f all things about funnel cakes :rotfl: Too neat! I notice that your screen name is sk8. Do you figire skate? Are you professional? I used to figure skate when I was younger and really loved it, but had to stop because my life got too busy by middle school. I wish I could have kept on-it was good exersize!

ANTSS-Hi!! So sad you don't get the weekend of the 4th off! I wish you could come. Hopefully I"ll see you soon at one of the other meets

Bunchkin: Hopefully you won't have to use a scooter, but if you do I'll be sure to stay out of your way! :rotfl: Crazy person with a scooter coming through!

Hersey: sorry your poor puppy has an upset tummy. Hope he feels better soon

Michelle: Glad you had a good time with your family. Hopefully they'll visit you again soon!

Paint: Thats really cool about your friend! I guess it was just meant to be!

~after 3 days of MHD I think I am ready to go to work later at 3PM and the best part about it I have the whole place all to my place. This is one reason why I don't mind working on weekends! It doesnt sound normal but it is not bad either :goodvibes

~ To all LaDIS in the Windy City I hope all is well with you and may you and your family have a great weekend. To all who are working this weekend hope you have a good shift.

~ Bunchkin ~ don't forget... I am begging to hitch a ride esp'ly in MK ... I always get knicked at the back of my foot everytime I come out from Philharmagic :sad2:

~ TDS comes out with their Halloween Costumes today... and last Thursday our TDS had another markdown... just a thought... :rolleyes1

Morning Chicago Disers. Where'd the sun go?
Bummer Saturday. Had a birthday party to go to-pool, and bean bags to play. Not sure we'll be doing any of that. Probably just eat and run :rotfl2:
Hope it's nice tommorow. Church is having an outing for the kids at Deep River Waterpark. They went 3 weeks ago and were stormed out, so the water park gave them free passes to return.
Well, gotta run. Lots to do today before we leave, groceries, clean, take in recylables. Oh, Yeah!! Lots of fun to be had here!!!! :rolleyes1
Have a great day all!

Slo, hope Katie has a nice party.
Funny, we're going to Katie's party, too. (Different Katie)
Hope the day turns nicer for you.

!

:guilty: :guilty: :guilty: I am so sorry about the Sun in Chicago... after my last post I went in the complex pool and the Sun is out here in Pa, the best part about it was it was just me in the pool and the lifeguard which looks very very bored, She gave me the "I rather be somewhere else look" the more I feel :guilty:

Hope the day gets better for your party Slo and Tiggerrn2... of to the showers... then a quick stop at the market and then off to work for me.... :wave2:
