Debbie6221- Enjoying your pictures!! Vey nice pics!

Bigben-Welcome back from the World!

Hersey-hope you are still having a great birthday today! :cake:

I just found out today that an older woman friend of mine passed away earlier this week :guilty: . She used to live in my area and go to my church, I knew her from church. Five yrs ago she moved to an assisted living facility in Arizona, to live near her daughter and son-in-law. Unfortunately I lost contact with her once she moved to AZ, since she didn't have a computer or internet access and life was busy for me. The time I knew her, about 10 yrs ago, she and I connected so well. She was kinda a second mom to me :goodvibes She was always the mom I wished I had, even tho I have a mom, but my mom and I have a strained relationship at times. This lady was always so nice to me and was always encouraging. She came to my baby shower, Don's 40th birthday party, one of my birthday parties- all a few yrs ago. Anyways, I have many fond memories of her, even tho I only knew her for about 7 or 8 yrs, before she moved to AZ. Her funeral is at my church tomorrow, so I may try to go to it, while the kids are in school of course. Sorry if I saddened anyone here, but just reminiscing of this very nice older woman I used to know. :)

Have a good evening, everyone.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR OWN HERSEY :goodvibes :Pinkbounc :cheer2: Hope *your* day is full of magic! :cool1:

Wow, we sure have a lot of OCTOBER Birthdays on the thread, don't we??? And, easy recipes are those that those of us who really don't cook much can make easily...crock-pot type stuff...

NICOLE...now you KNOW I'm old :blush <see what I mean about needing *easy* recipes!>

DEBBI...great pictures!!! Thank you for sharing!

Hope you all have a good night! :goodvibes

]Happy Birthday Hersey :bday: party:
Hope you had a great day.
Thanks again for the birthday wishes. You all are great.
Came home from work today and there was a basket of flowers that had been delivered to the house. Don't know who they came from???? The card just had initials. DH doesn't know either. Not delivered by a florist we know and he didn't get the name on the truck and no name on the floral card. Strange!!!! Hope I don't have a stalker out there somewhere.
Anyway, hope you all had a good weekend.
Goodnight all!!

Tower of Terror
Internet Movie Data Base summary says - Based on the ride at Disney/MGM
Studios, Florida, this Disney made-for-TV film has Steve Guttenberg as a
tabloid reporter who wants to write legitimately again. He investigates an
old woman\'s story behind the famous disappearance of five including a
beloved child actress that occurred at the Hollywood Hotel in the 1930s. The
film starts out when 5 people walk into an elevator, but something goes very
wrong. The elevator collapses 11 floors and the five people roam around the
hotel as ghosts. 60 years later, reporter Buzzy (Steve Guttenberg) and his
niece Anna (Kirsten Dunst) are trying to find out the mystery of the hotel.
An old lady named Abigail tells them that if they find a belonging of each
person on the elevator they will be free from the hotel. But really Abigail
wants to destroy every ghost in the hotel. (TVKirby note - This rather
cheesy movie did use the original Disney/MGM Studios attraction for some of
the sets)

Hi Everyone! :wave2: I'm back. Had a great trip. :Pinkbounc ASMu was a little disappointing  , but other than that everything was great. We'll give them another try end of Nov. and then consider moving on up a teensy bit if necessary. :lmao: Hope everyone is well. :grouphug: Will catch up reading one of these days!

BRRRRR what happened it cold outside. I saw a couple of peeks of sun yesterday. Yesterday was a very good day. Alex made a very good dinner. We had baked chicken, rice, broccoli, salad and brownie cheesecake that my neighbors brought for dessert :cool1: Then we played zoorena a new cranium game Alex had from his birthday early this month.

Donna your only as old as you feel. Sometimes I don't feel more than 20-25 other times maybe 75-80 :teeth: Like last night when I climbed in to bed after helping Alex cook dinner and cleanup. :lmao:

Hope everyone has a great day stay warm. :grouphug:

Good Monday morning!!! :surfweb:

I watched 2 movies this weekend - both of which I have seen before.
Saturday I watched the original The Omen - that movie is so scary, and not gory. If it was rerated today, I'm sure it would be PG-13. The whole time I was watching it, I don't think I heard a single swear word.
The last night I watched Notting Hill - I love that movie. If you haven't seen it, I would recommend it :thumbsup2

Rosemarie - I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of the lady you knew  I hope you are able to go to her funeral today. Please don't worry about saddening anyone, we are all here to listen

Donna - :wave2:

Tiggerrnn - That's really weird about the flowers. We had something similiar happen at our house. Someone sent an anoymous (sp?) card w/ $2 in it, to each of my girls. It's really weird, and the little writing there's on the envelope, looks like my Grandma's, which gives me chills. It was sent from around here, we can tell that, but we don't know who :confused3 I hope we can both find out who's sending us stuff.

macraven - Thanks for the weekly listing (I really appreciate you taking the time to do this :) )

rmom50 and bigben - Welcome home!!!! :) We can hardly wait to hear about your trips.

HERSEY - Sounds like you had a good b-day yesterday :bday: The dinner that Alex made sounds so nice - you must be so proud of him!!! :cloud9:

Well, I gotta run and get ready for work - have a good day today everyone!!

HERSEY said:
BRRRRR what happened it cold outside.

:thumbsup2

All I heard when my radio clicked on this morning was "dress for the cold"... then I hit the snooze button. :rotfl2:

I'm not ready for cold. Of course, I'm *never* ready for cold but couldn't it wait until at least November? Then my brain could handle it. :rotfl:

I hope everyone has a good day.

Hello!! :3dglasses

I'm very sleepy this morning!!
I was woken up right before 5:30am by a big thud! I looked at the clock to see that it couldn't be DH, he would already be gone and on the train. So I thought maybe one of the kids (most likely Hunter) fell out of bed. Nope, they were sound asleep. So I turned on the upstairs hall light, which kind of shines downstairs, and I didn't see anything.
So I assume all is fine, but am freaked out by not knowing what the noise was that woke me up. So I didn't go back to bed. My mind was thinking all kinds of crazy things! :sad2:
So I stayed up, and now I feel like I already need a nap!!! :teeth:

I start P.T. for both my feet again today! And have a new appt. with my foot doctor in early Nov. If I didn't mention it before, I was in a LOT of foot pain while at WDW. And back at home, I'm still having some pain. In fact one of my toes kind of feels numb!! :confused3 I'm guessing this isn't good! :sad2:
I'm starting to wish I would have never gone to the foot surgeon that did my surgery. :guilty:

The kids also have a dentist check-up & cleaning today. We go to a great place. They have tv's on the ceiling to watch!! They give the kids their own earbuds to keep for future visits. :smooth: They are sooooo kid friendly there! :thumbsup2

Hersey Glad to hear that the dinner went well!! :teeth: Dinner sounded yummy!!! :thumbsup2

slo Notting Hill is with Julia Roberts, right?? I think that is the only movie with her I haven't seen......oh wait...I haven't seen Run Away Bride either.
Favorite movies with her it: Mystic Pizza, Steel Magnolias, Hook :teeth:

Rosemarie Sorry to hear about your friend. :( She sounds like she was very special to you.

Howdy to everyone!!

I need to go for now. Hunter has preschool later today. And the letter of the day is 'F', so we need to go and cut out words from magazines that have the letter 'F' in them! 'F' is for Frodo.......who needs 2nd breakfast!! Where does he put all this food??? :rotfl:

Good morning everyone. OK, I wish I was back in Florida. The sun has shone exactly 1 day since we've been home. DD had a weather homework assignment this week and it was no warmer than 62 degrees all week and that was only one day. My winter blues are going to be setting in early this year I'm afraid. Hopefully, you all will help keep my spirits up. Getting together with friends always gives something new to look forward to.
Bunchkin, sure hope the doctors and PT can get your feet feeling good again.
Rosemarie :grouphug: to you on the loss of your friend. Hope you get to attend the funeral.
Question to all you scout moms out there. DH has the meeting with Healthy and Safe to plan for the boys. Any suggestions or things you've done in the past he could look into. He doesn't have to do this til spring, but I'd just like some ideas. Thanks in advance for your help.
Welcome back rmom and bigben. Sorry you didn't bring the weather back with you. Sure keep hoping for Indian summer, but I think it's gone til next year. Would be nice if we'd get one for Halloween. Last year we T/T in the rain-no fun!!!
Deb, great pictures. How do you get them on here? New to that and would like to put a few in with a mini trip report for my Chicago friends.
Well, better go. This house has been neglected for weeks and I would like to finish painting one more room before Halloween and get our new carpet in downstairs in time for the holidays this year. Tired of the Christmas tree in my dining room. :lmao:
Oh, and DS is home sick from school which puts a crimp in my plans. Hope it's just the flu, afraid it may be strep. Will call the doctor this afternoon when she gets to the office. He has lowgrade temp and complains of headache/sore throat. I can't see anything, but I really can't get a good look. He's eating some toast this AM so that is good. Didn't eat all day yesterday. I feel so bad for him. He just looks so sad. When he sits still and doesn't eat, I know he's sick.
Have a good day everybody.

good monday morning chicagoland homies.

i decided to play hooky today, just wasn't in me to answer the call for work at 5:40 this morning.

in my town, halloween trick and treaters can only go and for it to homes on the last sunday of the month/october. and the time limit is from 2 - 5 pm.

the city voted on this many years ago and after all this time, it just seems natural.

now i need to hit the discount stores this week in preparation for coming up sunday. this coming weekend we change the clocks back....woo hoo

if i remember correctly, it is in 2007 that we change they system of daylight savings time. it will begin in late november and end much earlier in the early spring. i'm looking forwards to it.

bunchkin, hope you are feeling better. hurting feet makes you hurt all over.
and to everyone else, i forgot what i read and do hope all is fine with you.

think that covers it for this morning. :rolleyes1

Hi all-
Brrrrr, I don't like this cold weather. What happened to 70 and sunny for at least a couple of Fall days??

Thanks Slo, Bunchkin, and Tiggerrn, for your concern and sympathies for my friend :goodvibes . I did go to the funeral this morning. It was a low turn-out, but the funeral service itself was very nice. I don't think a whole lot of people knew my older woman friend passed away. I just found out yest that she recently passed away. Their was a Wake last night, so maybe alot of people she knew went to the Wake instead. I met her two daughters today.

Not much else going on with me today.

Bunchkin- glad to hear you are continuing PT for your feet. Not glad to hear you had a lot of foot pain at WDW :guilty:

Hi macraven, Becky, and everyone else :wave2:

Tiggerrn- About Health and Safety for Cub Scouts, my ds's Den had a first aid presentation last Friday afterschool at one of our local hospitals. Ds's Den leader booked it. They learned a little CPR, Heimlich maneuver, saw a half-hour film on first aid. An updated film with MatthewBroderick in it! It was a good presentaion overall. HOpe this helps!

Ok, gotta go. have a good day everyone.

is there a number of posts you have to have before you can post pictures? Cause I got some COOL :woohoo: ones.

Yes there is. I don't remember how many posts you need before you can post links and pictures. Maybe someone on the tech board would know.

JennymominRi and I will be in CHICAGO (Nov 24th thru the 26th),we will be staying for a convention at the Wyndham O'hare Hotel.    :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: We are so looking forward to it,and will leave straight from there (with a friend from the U.K.)to.......wait.............. for ............it......................DISNEYWORLD! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:   :cheer2:

Hello Everyone,
Boy do I have the blues! :guilty: We need some sun around here!! :sunny:
It didn't help that I had to take my DS to get his "One Year" immunizations and then to a wake. :sad2:
Sorry about your friend Roseprincess. There's something about death that kind of puts things in percpective and makes you reflect on so much don't ya think.
Kim DD will be going to school tomorrow but don't run away too fast. DD slept until 9:30 this morning so I am afraid it's going to be a rough morning tomorrow! :coffee:
Tiggerrn2Don't think I'm weird. I don't know what it is but when I read your posts I feel like we are a lot alike. Strange but I just have this feeling. Also, in regards to posting pix, your first step is to download your pix at photobucket or at least that's what I did. Also, do you know how to post diffferent smileys and stuff using the "properties" right click? PM me and I'll explain more. Hopefully I am doing it right (the easiest way)!
Macraven way to play hookie! You are TCFW......too cool for words!
BigBen Can't wait to see your pix but it's a lot of work (unless I'm doing it a longer way than I could be). I have about the same amount of posts as you and I am doing it.
Bunchkin My DH is having terrible feet problems. We are looking for solutions. PM me your woas if you don't mind.

And here's another couple dyas of my trip report......
WDW Day 2 October 13th, 2006

On this day we did Typhoon Lagoon and for some reason I took like 3 pictures with my camera. Have you know we have about 4 cameras taking pictures on this trip. I am just sharing the ones from my camera so far.
DS at Typhoon
DSC03097.jpg

The bad news was on this day we realized my DD had a bladder infection and after spending a great meal at Cape May Café we decided to bring her to the immediate care center where I was right and she needed antibiotics.

Never have done that at DISNEY!

I have seen every single bathroom at every single location at WDW. We must have gone potty a zillion times. Before every line we went, in the middle of meals, at the pool, wow, I was pooped (or should I say peeped)! DD was a trooper though. It had to be wiping her out and she never complained!
DSC03249.jpg

The next disaster was getting her to take the medicine, which I tasted myself and it was disgusting. It was beyond disgusting! We had to go back to the Doctor to get a different medicine which worked a ton better ($65.00 later)!

A few things I did on this trip were…

One, I gave DD gifts on her bed from the Princesses and Mickey. It made me cry every time I saw her reaction to the gifts.

Two (one of my favorite tricks I got from my Mom)…we bring a brand new flavor of air freshener (this time was vanilla cream) and I plug it in at the hotel room when I get there. Then when I return I use the air freshener and it TOTALLY reminds me of the trip!

And one other thing I do is I save my Styrofoam coffee cups and use them when I return home to remind me of my morning coffee on the GF balcony!

I also put the GF bathroom toiletries out in the bathroom like they do at the resort.

I’m a loon!

Day 3 October 13th

DD feels a little better but we are still visiting all the WDW bathrooms!

Blizzard Beach
DD had the time of her life! This is the first year she could do all the kiddie slides and she loved it!!!
DSC03114.jpg

DSC03118.jpg

After Blizzard Beach the Guys went to play golf and we decided to head over to MK to see what we could hit. It was PACKED! We waited to see Cinderella for over an hour in Toon town! If we had known it was going to take over an hour we would not have stayed. Then she was not even the best Cindy, if you know what I mean! Oh well! Look all three of them look spent!
DSC03170.jpg

DSC03172.jpg

Grandma on coater with DD.........

DSC03308-copy_edited.jpg

Toontown was a zoo!

We ended up just making our way back home (right before a parade)) where we ate dinner at the Gasperilla grill and watched the fireworks from the marina.

great trip report and pics.

i love reading everyone's adventure in the motherland.
