roseprincess said:Hi all- happy Sunday-
Thanks Slo and and Donna, asking how the visit went yest.![]()
Everything went fairly well yest visiting FIL. He lives near Mendota,Il. in a very small town called Sublette. He lives part-time in a summer trailer home community. It's a nice summer trailer home area. Unfortunately with FIL, he has dementia. I guess over this past summer, SIL told me he was really bad, as of mood swings. The past yr, FIL has gone downhill as of losing his short-term memory-hence the dementia. His mood yest seemed pretty good with us, not much anger that I saw in him yest. He was actually pleasant with us. He does miss seeing us, we hadn't seen him since last summer(summer 2005). My SIL is mostly up there every other weekend and some weekdays here and there. SIL has a trailer next to FIL. She also is his Power of Attorney, when it comes to decision making. Dh and I are hoping SIL gets FIL in an assisted living facility. That's another battle in itself, when it comes to family matters. In fact, the majority of the family feels FIL should go into an assisted living fac. FIL doesn't really feel he needs to be in one, wants his independence, etc. It's been hard to deal with on this issue, etc. Another post for another time
But all in all,the visit went well, he enjoyed our company, he was happy to see the kids
. The kids hung out at the playground part of the time ,right by his trailer. Chrissy and Matthew also had fun watching grandpa's satellite tv, since we don't have satelite at home. We got back home around 8pm last night.
Are you talking about Woodhaven?? That's where I go "camping" with my parents!

Sorry I've been so mia lately. I am so swamped - this SAHM, PTO president, Brownie leader, silent auction chairperson thing is killing me. I went scrappin this weekend though - have you guys ever heard of Heart and Soul Memories? They run a great retreat in Palatine and one in Lake Geneva - this was our second time. I'm pretty sure the website is
That's sarcastic, bc I could barely stay awake!

), and first I went to New Balance. I was there for over an hour! People keep saying to try their shoes for WDW and DL, so I thought I would try it out. Unfortunately, they don't make size 4, so I had to get kids'. On the plus side, they were much cheaper, but on the down side, I'm not sure if they're as good (supportive and everything) as the adult shoes. I got kids 767, which is I guess somewhat comparable to the same women's. I also got some inserts, so we'll see. I'll take a ton of shoes with me to DL. (Next week!
They had invited me, but I just had to shop. But they decided they were going to Baskin Robbins on the way home, so when I got home I threw my sandwich in the fridge and went to see them and get sherbet! It was nice to see them. I got a very early birthday present, in case they don't see me before then, an electronic Sudoku game. Her DD6 was so proud she had wrapped it (put it in a bag with a ton of tissue!
) They're on a plane coming home right now, which was delayed many times due to our storms.
! Ds had a friend over the other day and the little boy told him that his friend Ben (ds) is a real pirate. So, if anyone needs any plundering done, please let me know!
that you're posting the Disney TV times!
Looked it up in the TV guide here and then had to reprogram our sets to get like six channels we didn't know we had.
