Hi all- happy Sunday-
Thanks Slo and and Donna, asking how the visit went yest. :goodvibes
Everything went fairly well yest visiting FIL. He lives near Mendota,Il. in a very small town called Sublette. He lives part-time in a summer trailer home community. It's a nice summer trailer home area. Unfortunately with FIL, he has dementia. I guess over this past summer, SIL told me he was really bad, as of mood swings. The past yr, FIL has gone downhill as of losing his short-term memory-hence the dementia. His mood yest seemed pretty good with us, not much anger that I saw in him yest. He was actually pleasant with us :) . He does miss seeing us, we hadn't seen him since last summer(summer 2005). My SIL is mostly up there every other weekend and some weekdays here and there. SIL has a trailer next to FIL. She also is his Power of Attorney, when it comes to decision making. Dh and I are hoping SIL gets FIL in an assisted living facility. That's another battle in itself, when it comes to family matters. In fact, the majority of the family feels FIL should go into an assisted living fac. FIL doesn't really feel he needs to be in one, wants his independence, etc. It's been hard to deal with on this issue, etc. Another post for another time :teeth: But all in all,the visit went well, he enjoyed our company, he was happy to see the kids :thumbsup2 . The kids hung out at the playground part of the time ,right by his trailer. Chrissy and Matthew also had fun watching grandpa's satellite tv, since we don't have satelite at home. We got back home around 8pm last night.

Are you talking about Woodhaven?? That's where I go "camping" with my parents!

Hi Jedi :wave2:
Thanks for the hug :goodvibes
Yeah, talking about Woodhaven. My FIL has one of the really nice trailers(looks like a house). He's had the trailer for 10 yrs.

Hi there everyone! Sorry I've been so mia lately. I am so swamped - this SAHM, PTO president, Brownie leader, silent auction chairperson thing is killing me. I went scrappin this weekend though - have you guys ever heard of Heart and Soul Memories? They run a great retreat in Palatine and one in Lake Geneva - this was our second time. I'm pretty sure the website is www.heartandsoulmemories.com It's not that expensive either.

Trying to get ready for our trip, BUT our suitcases are shoved in a HUGE pile in the basement (the part that we out everything while we finish the other part) I guess tomorrow I'm going to have to get my rear down there and find them. We leave in 13 days.

I haven't been online at all this weekend, so I need to catch up, need to see what's up with MNSSHP too

hope everyone is doing good

Well, it looks like our bit of nice weather is over. Nothing too exciting here. Met with disneymama last night for icecream and met her other dds. They are adorable and dd can't wait to meet them. Also, Coldstone makes for a great dinner! Today, did some shopping and my mom bought the kids tons of school clothes. She even isisted that dd needed a pair of sparkly pink boots! Why not! Then I spent the afternoon reading Eng Lit :woohoo: That's sarcastic, bc I could barely stay awake!
SamIAm, this should make you feel better about your pot roast in the car-I called a friend to tell her I would not be making it to her party, which I had only just remembered was today at 12. She assumed I was not coming, bc it was actually YESTERDAY! Duh! I felt really bad!
Hope everyone had a great Sunday!

Hi everyone! I had a busy day of shopping yesterday, trying to finish getting ready for my trip. I left about 2pm (ok, I get up late ;) ), and first I went to New Balance. I was there for over an hour! People keep saying to try their shoes for WDW and DL, so I thought I would try it out. Unfortunately, they don't make size 4, so I had to get kids'. On the plus side, they were much cheaper, but on the down side, I'm not sure if they're as good (supportive and everything) as the adult shoes. I got kids 767, which is I guess somewhat comparable to the same women's. I also got some inserts, so we'll see. I'll take a ton of shoes with me to DL. (Next week! :woohoo: )

Then I went to Nordstrom Rack to try to find something to wear with my black dress to the wedding to add a little color. I got a little loose-weave sweater with sequins and cap-sleeves. It's a very light rose color. I'm still not sure I'm going to wear it. I haven't tried it on with the dress. I might return it.

Then I went to Nordstrom at Oak Brook. I got some shoes for my dress there. It was funny, I ended up getting the same shoes I had gotten for the wedding I went to last year, only I returned those. They were off-white and I really needed white. Only this year I got them in black.

Then I went to Harry & David and got some candy :thumbsup2 , and TDS and got some pins and a CUTE Marie plush! She's a witch on a broom with a black cape with purple trim and a black hat with a purple bow. I swore I wasn't going to get any plush, since I'll be at DL and I know I'll get some there, but I couldn't help it!

Then I stopped at a new Cosi and got a sandwich on the way home, and called my friend from Indy. They were in town and went up to the train museum in Union, because of her DS2's train addiction. :rotfl: They had invited me, but I just had to shop. But they decided they were going to Baskin Robbins on the way home, so when I got home I threw my sandwich in the fridge and went to see them and get sherbet! It was nice to see them. I got a very early birthday present, in case they don't see me before then, an electronic Sudoku game. Her DD6 was so proud she had wrapped it (put it in a bag with a ton of tissue! :rotfl2: ). I had gotten a Luigi Cars pin for her DD2 (his name is Louis and sometimes they call him Luigi) at TDS, so I gave that to him. He was having a great time putting the garbage in the trash can! :rotfl2: And the baby was so mad when they put him in his car seat AGAIN to go home! :goodvibes (He's almost 10 mo.)

My parents have been out of town in Alabama for my mom's 51st H.S. reunion. (They couldn't quite get it together for 50. :lmao: ) They're on a plane coming home right now, which was delayed many times due to our storms.

Ok, this post has been way too long. I should go wash my hair or something. :thumbsup2

 Everyone -

(Mac, you dont by chance have a plantar fascia too do you?? My ankle swells so with that stupid heel spur!!)

SIX more sleeps (hmmm dh thinks *I* sleep on the couch... only from 3 or 4 am on... that man snores!! :rotfl: and then I start stressing about packing, or having a nightmare about forgetting something.... )

I just packed a box to mail to myself filled with "essentials" 2 bottles of champagne, 1 bottle of gran marnier, a container with rum... (hey, I cant put it in my carryon, so why not???!!!! :rotfl: )

It barely rained up here in the burbs, near Hawthorn Mall!! DH got the lawn mowed, thank goodness - the neighbors had a get acquainted bbq last night, it was nice - great weather!!

I'm going to DISNEY!! and I have to work at least 3 days next week!!! (I only wish I got a paycheck BEFORE we left!!! drat it!!)

Jedi- Will your h be at any public events soon? Ds has to meet him! He would be :cloud9: ! Ds had a friend over the other day and the little boy told him that his friend Ben (ds) is a real pirate. So, if anyone needs any plundering done, please let me know! :rotfl2:
I am so jealous of all those going on trips soon! I am in the "after trip slump". I am sure we will go again in the next year, but nothing definite. I need a definite so I can create a ticker. That would make me feel better!

Good evening everyone. Read through all the posts, but now too many to reply to individually. We've had a busy week. PTO meeting went OK. We still need to elect a board. Book fair coming quickly, so we need to get this done like yesterday. Worked 12 Friday. Soccer games all day yesterday. It was beautiful outside. Fields were still a little soggy. Church this morning. You're all double covered. DD and I shopped all this afternoon. Some good deals to be had at TDS in Orland. Shirts/shorts$7-$10, gunchy stuff for $2.99 to avoid the trap at the parks, and on to Target for the essentials. Home in time for bath and bed after stories. DS went fishing with Grandpa today. DH cleaned the car. For those of you with boys in Scouts, how much extra work is involved? DS seems to be getting a lot of homework for a first grader, but he wants to join scouts. Just don't want him overloaded with projects and such.
RosePrincess I know how hard it is for families to come to the reality that a loved one needs extra care and attention. When my Grandmother had to go to a nursing home, it was the hardest decision my dad and aunt had to make. She was 91 at the time. She loved her home. I think her home was what she lived for. I know, for myself, I would love to be in one of those assisted living places. At least I wouldn't have any home maint. and could travel or whatever. And when it came to needing help, I wouldn't be a burden on any family members. Being in between, I know it's hard. Caring for my own family, and now have to go to Mom's house to help out with things there since my dad passed away. It's hard to maintain 2 homes.
Macraven, glad to hear all is well at your end. We all were wondering what was the outcome with your DS.
Everyone else out there and all the lurkers, good evening.
