Picked up my packet today. It's my second marathon, (Disney was my first last Jan). I almost cried when I saw my bib.

So excited. Good luck to anyone else running. Will be a bit cold for me but others seem excited about the 40 degree weather.

BTW, saw the new Mickey medal at the Run Disney booth. Wow is it awesome! I have to sit this year out as I'm going to a conference the following weekend at WDW and can't swing doing both. Boy it's tempting though.

Good Luck! I know a few people running it this year, but after the whole Lance Armstrong debaucle, I have taken it off of my list for next year. I think you will like the temperatures being a bit cooler and with it being such a flat course, you should do great!! :cheer2: I loved running through Chicago for my two races this year. Definitely learned to appreciate it so much more. Wasn't a fan of the city until I ran through it!

Please let us know how it goes!!

Good luck with the Chicago marathon! I was born and raised there and several friends who still live there will be running it. I've been excitedly reading their updates on facebook.

Are you referring to the marathon weekend? You can always tell yourself that it is no longer a temptation since both the marathon and half marathon are already sold out. ;)

I know it's sold out. Looking at charity spots tonight. No way I can make two trips in two weeks though. :(

All done. Perfect weather, although I would have taken another 10 degrees.

Happy enough with my time. Finished 6 min faster than Disney. I was only a minute off BQ pace in the first 13 but fell apart the second half. Sadly 13m slower on the back half. Oh well, it was a long shot.

I have never been so sore in my life. Felt great after Disney, could barely move yesterday and today. I wonder if the difference is that after Disney, I rested at the pool and then walked around EPCOT all night. Last night was spent on the couch. I'll get around and move today and will hopefully start to feel better.

Comparing the two marathons, I really enjoyed Disney more. I love running through the parks, and also realized that I am a solitary runner. The crowds are dispersed enough at Disney, that you feel the support, but aren't overwhelmed by them. At Chicago, they were so loud I almost felt claustrophobic at times. I just wanted a nice back road at Disney with some peace and quiet. Maybe I'll start looking for some scenic races for the future.

Great Job! :cool1: Sorry you are so sore. :( If you want a scenic Marathon and a bit flat, you may want to consider the Kiawah Island Marathon. Last year, the Marathon repeated the 1/2 Marathon course but this year, it has a new course that doesn't repeat. I can't wait! You will get your BQ!
