Anyone do Chi Running?

I've had some hip issues since I've switched from speed walking to running. I would like to continue running but I don't want to injure myself.

I just bought the book and just read the first couple of chapters. I tried the relaxation technique(just focus on enjoying the moment and keep my body loose) as I did most recent 5K- where I would speed walk a song and run a song. I feel pretty good today-no major hip issues:thumbsup2.

I'm wondering if anyone has done/read the book/dvd's and see changes. Any and all information would greatly be appreciated.

Bought CW book 3 years ago because of knee issues and found that Chi Walking worked for me. After some time, I bought CR book and tried to convert. Found it uncomfortable so I went back to CW and began to modify technique to suit myself. Wanting to go faster and having started training for upcoming triathlon, my knees are improving and I will re-read CR.
I am now able to jog but still not as fast as my walking. Also have DVD and found some helpful info but nothing super helpful for me.

My 5K PR walking is 28:10.9 with Half marathon PR walking 2:12:16 and I have completed 2 Goofy events with best marathon walking time of 4:56:26

Good luck!

I have both the ChiRunning and ChiMarathon books and like them. The running form that Danny Dreyer describes and teaches really makes sense. This is just a personal experience, but early on when I started to run seriously, my knees hurt badly enough that I saw an orthopedic surgeon. Good medical advice, rest, ice, and NSAIDs did the trick ... but I think that what has kept the knee pain from coming back is the running form. One of ChiRunning's "form focuses" is to "align the feet." this has kept my feet from splaying out and putting undo pressure on my medial knees, thus no more knee pain!
