Chemo update -- treatment called off for today

Steve this may happen more than once. I know it is hard, but try not to focus too much on how many weeks are left...instead try to help her focus on how many treatments are completed . This is more encouraging. Prayers continue.

I know it's disappointing to have to put the end of treatment off for a week, but on the other hand, if Nicole became ill because of her low white count, that would be even worse.

This happened to my aunt several times durning her chemo. I agree with the idea of dwelling on completed treatments. That's a big positive. Glad to hear that she is doing so well, other than the count being low. I know how much you want all of this behind you, but before long it will be in the past.

I have a positive story to tell you. Our friends live in Mexico. Their little boy broke his leg and the x-ray machine was not set correctly. He developed leukemia and the doctors are sure it was to blame. Anyway, they came up to Houston and the doctors there said that he had a very deadly and rare form. No one who had had it had ever lived. The family was devastated. The doctors and the boy fought a hard battle. That has been quite a few years ago. He is in remission and doing very well. Even the toughest forms can be beat.

Make plans for the celebration you'll have when this is over and part of your past. With each treatment cheer that you've come a little bit closer to winning the war. Hugs to both of you. Prayers for strength and patience continue!

My Mom is so glad she got the shots. They made a lot of improvement in her response to the chemo. Hopefully they will continue to give her the shots as she goes through the chemo.
My Mom's hair has not fallen and she completed 8 chemo treatments. They told her that it would happen around treatment 3 or 4 if it was going to happen.
